It still will rot because the headboard itself is made out of untreated wood! Trying to perserve the legs is not helpful when the rest is still wood being exposed to the elements! The whole thing will not stand the test of time out in the elements! What a shame such a beautiful piece, too! Better served on the inside as some form of advertising for her business would be better!

Definitely put an exterior clear coat. I find shellac to be the thickest. Expensive but worth it, or a clear epoxy.
You can also get metal stakes with a pocket for the legs.For easy installation and metal support

I love your pink house!!! My parents purchased an old house in our little town years ago! They turned it into a lady’s dress shop! My mother’s name is Prissy! She came up with the name “The Prissy Place”. It was a sweet shop! She only stayed in business for about 4 years but the ladies in our community far and near loved it! I love pink! That is gorgeous , just a gorgeous piece of furniture. I would love to see a bench r mirrored anything from that gorgeous headboard , stunning shape and I love your idea for that too. A bench on the porch with the numbers would be beautiful , I just hate the thought of that beauty being out in the weather everyday , it hurts my heart lol I adore Pink so much that everyone called me Pinky when I was little and some still call me that at 61 years of age and I still adore Pink so much and I'm painting my kitchen pink with gold and green accents right now lol it's the kitchen of my childhood home and I love it so much.

I got a one for free from the delivery men, and I made it into a gate to hide the area where my garden supplies are. I filled the centre with lattice, added trim,and finials. I painted it with Jarrah Brown stain, and am doing the fence to match.
I am really jazzed with how it looks!

Great idea! I would take off the horizontal board down at the bottom so it wont look so much like a headboard. It should still be stable enough.

You absolutely need to paint the area on both sides of the steps with the different colors pink like the columns. It seems odd that it separates the columns and stairs. Look like it’s jealousy, “you forgot my pick paint”! What city and state are you in! I wanna see it! Cherish these father/daughter times. I was a Daddy’s girl too and he passed 2021 at 80. I miss his great hugs!
