Eliz, the sound is much better in this video--the wind made some of the previous ones difficult, so your subtitles are a BIG help. The film reference is Marty Feldman as Igor to Gene Wilder as Dr Victor (Frahnkensteen) in Young Frankenstein directed by Mel Brooks. I have this weird peccadillo about brand names in that if they reference someone abhorrent to me, like Thatcher's ale (I lived in London during the miners' strike when Margaret Thatcher was in power), or Schlafly beer from St Louis, I just cannot bring myself to give them my custom. Do you guys have anything like that?

Regarding avoiding brands, I try not to hold names against companies if the founder I disagree with is no longer associated with it (Papa Johns) or, as is the case with Thatchers Gold, is just a common name and has no real association (can’t find anything showing Margaret Thatcher has anything to do with the cider company).

My guess is that it was because the wind wasn't as bad that day in Bath than it had been when we were in coastal areas like Cornwall. 🌬🌬🌬😄😄😄 AND YES YOU GUESSED THE MOVIE! And the actors/characters! BRAVO! I understand the sentiment with certain words and names feeling too close. But as Derek said below, Thatcher's is just a family-owned brand and a dang tasty one at that! Wish we could get it in the states for my moments when I'm feeling nostalgic for this trip!
We're about to visit Bath again in April, God willing! I've always thought Bath is such a lovely, idyllic place. The self-guided walking tours are fun. If you're a Jane Austen fan, there's the Jane Austen Centre. And you can see the homes she lived in too. This upcoming visit we are keen to compare Sally Lunds' buns and Bath buns! Who will win? We hope to find out! P.S. Big Young Frankenstein fans here too!

@@MeansToTravel We returned 2 weeks ago from a WONDERFUL trip to the UK (Scotland, York, Stratford upon Avon, and ending in Bath). While we didn't compare the buns (see comment previous...lol), we definitely felt as much as locals as two Americans can. We went to the same little pub every night and spent hours talking with everyone -- the best trip!

Have a Sally Lunn bun! It took me 3 visits to finally try one. Now on my 4th visit I need to try Jane Austen's favourite... the Bath Bun!!
