Let's gooo! Congrats on 1,000! I'm ready to learn 5:35 "We have all of the dimensions that we need here" The amount of times I've tried to tell myself there's not enough information on sheet is crazy. It's always there, but when you're 35minues in to a speed-modeling challenge, you question yourself. 8:06 Okay, I'm intrigued. How tf are you getting a piece made of wires from this? 12:58 This is such a huge, massive, extremely big-brain move. I would've never, ever thought of that in a million years. You're going to use the paths from the surfaces to sweep...? Maybe? 16:30 That's quite the Ivan-exploit indeed, but a really good one. Does that count as an Ivan-exploit? Who knows. I think it does. Right answer, wrong geometry. I think it counts. 22:50 Would a coincident constraint with the origin not have copied over as well, so that you don't have all the extra hanging off? Even if not, would it not have saved time to add one with each copy? 23:26 I didn't know there was now an entire part mirror. That's cool. Also technically you could've just used the mass from that and multiplied by 2, but I guess that's not in the spirit of the competition eh?
08:06 Yeah, that's the cool thing about that strategy. That's the first thing that came to ind and how I would have done it if I was competing. 12:58 Yup... Surfaces in Alibre are completely underrated and hugely powerful. Thanks to Joseph for showing the potential to all of us! 16:30 Definitely an Ivan-exploit if there ever was one... lolololol 22:50 Uhm... Adam..? You have the spark, you know that? Yes, that would have been a significantly better approach. Cool idea man. 23:26 Definitely in the spirit of the competition. Ph0sphor used to export volume from Plasticity and do the math!!! But I reckon it's quicker to do that mirror. Thank you so much for that comment man! And, you're starting to get the hang of this speedmodelling and strategic approach. Maybe, practice a bit and throw your hat in the ring next year..?
@@ExMachinaEngineering I'm not sure, I just tried combining my own method with yours and I was 4 grams off, and I don't know where I went wrong. Darn. It also didn't really like copying the origin coincident.
Hmmm, I'll give it a go later today and see how it goes. Make sure that the sketch is placed correctly and your just selecting the origin as the base point.
Thank you SO much for that comment! Although, Joko is the Master of the Alibre YT Community, I am still honoured that my content is something that you enjoy! Massive Thanks!
Great video. Really like the way you show multiple ways. As usual I learned a few tips and tricks. Congrats on the 1000 subscribers. You are doing a great job. I can't wait for the nest video.
Thank you so much, Gary! I'm glad I'm helping and that you're still picking up tips and tricks from my videos. Next one coming up soon. I hope you'll like that too.
Half the skill comes from the shirt, I'm telling ya. I need to wear it underneath my normal clothes or I can't even do a Loft with Tangent Guidelines... Hahahaha
CONGRATULATIONS on the first thousand! This is a huge achievement. The value of a speedrunner going through these and speaking from personal experience gives this content insight few can provide. I'm totally flattered at 12:42- thank you!
Thanks man! I'm just trying to do the best I can. Speedmodelling this is very different to designing it for production. And might require a couple of lightning fast steps instead of a timeconsuming single one. So, I try to showcase that approach as best as I can. And as for 12:42, it's an actual valid metnal tool. I have told people I've helped with Alibre to think "What would Joseph do". Because, you know there is to get where you're going. It's just not always the most obvious. So, look around, think outside of the box. That's what I mean, and that's what you show in your videos. By the way, AMAZING video on Majora's Mask!!!
@@ExMachinaEngineering Thank you, that one was a good amount of work! 3 videos of content in one. I didn't get a chance to play Majora's Mask as a kid since we didn't have the expansion pack. Playing it on the switch has been a real experience. Majoras mask is like hearing a story while telling it at the same time, and has been such an experience in exploring giref, nihilism, even the junian shadow. I was surprised at how meaningful and poignant it is.
Ah, yes. Well, I think back then people, and especially the Japanese, approached videogames like a means for artistic expression. Like a film. And that whole franchise is a testament to that I think
Yes, I thought about it. But it would have been slower and I wouldn't have the Paste Stamper tool available. But that was a good call and a valid approach
I'm not really sure what you mean by "Backwards". Nor what you mean that the "information is not sufficient to manufacture". I would love for you to explain so I can perhaps show the process in a different way next time that'll make more sense to you.

Ok, cool! What was it? Maybe do a vid about it
Brilliant, keep it up! Very useful learning resource! Thanks
Thanks man! I tried to show different less used tools in Alibre. But you can still do some really cool stuff with them.
This guy is literally carrying the weight of the entire alibre community on his shoulders. No one is doing what he is doing.

Could you have done a 3d sketch for this as well? I liked the video you did with the pneumatic valve.
Yes, I thought about it. But it would have been slower and I wouldn't have the Paste Stamper tool available. But that was a good call and a valid approach
Kind of a backwards way to do this, especially considering that the information in this model is not sufficient for manufacture.
