Overall a pretty good Ken run on the hardest difficulty. It could be improved a bit here and there, but I didn't want to spend too much time on it, I just wanted to be the first player to get a sub 9 time with Ken...I got this run on my second session of doing runs.

Either this isn't the hardest difficulty, either the version is easier than others. I don't mean you are a bad player, just I've seen the game being way harder opponent than this.
@@child_of_Orion It's on hardest difficulty. This speedrun has been verified and approved on speedrun.com by knowledgeable admins. There's not much difference between normal and hardest difficulty in this game, the cpu has very similar patterns. I also have close to 20k hours on this game, I know it inside out.
Maybe on the US version it seems different on hardest because the US version already has reduced damaged output by default and hardest difficulty adds even more damage reduction on top of that, so rounds inevitably last longer and you'd have to do more stuff to win a round, but in terms of cpu patterns, it's pretty much the same on both US and JP versions, you can bait the cpu doing the same things.

About the damage i have found how to make big damage is let ur enemy hits u and u dont need to attack also . Than get ur blood damage less very small nearly end. Than u can start to attack ur enemy. U will see u gonna hit ir enemy with very big damage especially using combos.
Remember when u use ChunLi or Vega usually they think attack fast but u see their damage very little. So if u use that character try to make slow attack.
I know this because i usually play like this way (my new style) always letting enemy to hit me and i dont attack back and i let enemy win.
Im not using Any SpecialMoves so i can understand this about big damage
@@mandirimaju I understand what you mean and it can be a good tactic, but I don't think this will work for speedruns, it seems too risky. You risk losing too much time and you also risk losing the round. Maybe I will experiment with that if I will do these speedruns again.

I played the hell out of this game in the 90s. To this day, when I hear any of the countries in this game, the first mental image I have is the battle stage. China is always an open market selling live chickens, Thailand has giant Buddha statues laying all over the place, Brazil just has Amazon huts with tree snakes, etc.
I remember as a kid going to my BF crib & his older brother playing this game, it was mind blowing. 2023 & probably still my favourite game of all time
Only good memories related to this game for me as well. Good days, fun times, probabaly my favourite game ever too.

This run is on hardest difficulty, yes. The thing is I know this game inside out, I know pretty much every possible scenario which can happen when playing vs the CPU and I'm prepared for it, so I get what you mean.
You might also be remembering Super Turbo (Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo), that one is known to have a much harder CPU, way harder than this game (which is Street Fighter 2 Champion Edition).

I know it's been awhile since you've done a speed run, but will you ever be doing a perfect no hit speed run?
Probably not, sorry, there is no "all-perfect" category on speedrun.com It could be created if I submit a run, but I have nothing to gain from doing it, I would just be competing with myself and that doesn't really seem appealing to me at this point. I have done "all-perfect" high score games when I was a kid, but I would lose a round on purpose to get the score up.
If any of my current speedruns ever get beat, I probably will do them again, but until then, I'm enjoying SF6 when I can. I will most likely speedrun SF6 once they add categories for every individual character.

Are u any good as VS human opponents? Do u play online on FightCad?
When I was a kid I played only 1v1 for many years, I was a bit above average I'd say ;) I prefer to do speedruns now. To play 1v1 at high level I would have to play almost every day and I don't have time to do that. I will play SF6 online when it comes out and try to be competitive.
If i play in arcade which pay also than i will not play with speedrun. I will play with highest score. So every enemy with 3Rounds
I used to do the same in the final 2 years of the arcade, before it closed. I played only for "perfect" rounds and I would lose one round on purpose and in that round would do mostly hadoukens if possible to increase the score. My highest score was 1.62 million (with Ken).

@@mandirimaju It's not easy, of course, but it is possible. It is 99% failure, 1% success. I got 1.6 million score 3-4 times out of thousands of attempts :) I got 1.5 million many times, but 1.5 million can be done with 3-4-5 no-perfect rounds.
The arcade location was also almost empty in the final 2 years, so I could play and try all day. And many days I was allowed to play for free, they open the machine at the bottom and swipe 20 free coins for me :)

Could you say what is the convention that you use to make the shoryuken?
I use arcade stick. In general, I do: forward - down - downforward - punch. My last uploads have a fightstick overlay. You can put the speed at 0.25 and look at the motion I'm doing.

@@Sr_LOQUITO Forward-down-forward works too. You should do the movement your hand "likes" the most and which you can execute with consistency.

@@at0micsheep Yea, I didn't really lose any significant time, just minor bruised ego 😉 The best possible time on the car bonus stage with Ken is 19 and I still got that.

A no-hit-run is possible, but this is a speedrun, not an all-perfect run. Taking damage in speedruns and finishing the round quick is faster than getting "perfects" and finishing the round quick.

Hardest difficulty? Ehhh. 🤔 Seems more like mid level. And how come you never take out the barrels in the bonus round?
This is hardest difficulty. I've shown the difficulty screen both at the beginning and at the end of the run and this speedrun has been verified and approved on speedrun.com by knowledgeable admins (link to the leaderboard is in the description).
The barrels get dodged or ignored in speedruns, because breaking the barrels gives you points and points take up time to get counted. Getting a "perfect" on that bonus stage would mean losing 5-7 seconds, which is how long the "perfect" score count would last. So the fastest way on that bonus stage is to break only the last 3-5 barrels just to get them off the screen as quickly as possible and have the bonus stage end with a very short score count which last like 1 second.

That's still a good time! GG! Keep playing and you will improve it. If you want to do speedruns, I recommend you play on the Japanese version, this version I am playing in the video, because it is designed to do more damage, you can win faster. The US/World version has lower damage. The ROM I am using is sf2cejb or sf2cejc, I don't remember exactly.

I don’t see difference between norm and hard mode 😅😅
The damage is lowered by about 5-10% on hardest and the CPU can recover from stun very quickly if you give him time. On this game hardest is actually more fun to play (for me), because the CPU is less "cheaty", it's just aggressively dumb, whereas on normal it's kind of like a dead fish and cheats more.
It says "hardest" but the human player is doing insane damage per hit; as well as dizzying off every combo.
Check pinned comment in regards to the damage. Getting a dizzy with Ken off those combos is quite common in SF2CE.
