The NASB, NIV and ESV quote Jesus in a lie! In John 7:8 he tells his brothers, I am not going to the feast for my time has not yet come. Oh, oh. He is going to break the law of Moses. That eould be a sin.
Oh, he waits and then goes to the feast. Liar! BLASPHEMY.

Hearing you say this makes me feel better. I’m 50 years old and new to Christianity. I was an atheist up until a few months ago. And people online keep telling me in the comment section how you have to stick with the KJV and everything else is wrong etc. I bought 8 different translations by the way. I’m on my fourth now. But anyhow this one person told me to look at Matthew 7:21 and I will see. So I went on bible gateway and looked it up in a bunch of different versions and have no clue what they are talking about. They all say the same thing. I expected to see it be so utterly devastatingly different and it didn’t make any difference at all. People just like to cause chaos and controversy over nothing. Plus if you don’t understand Shakespeare like language then what good is it to only read the KJV. I’m very much enjoying the NKJV the most out of the four I’ve read so far. I’ve already read the KJV, NIV, ESV and the NKJV is my favourite so far.

I went through the same process , but it is very difficult to witness/ share your faith to a nonbeliever in the KJV . I use the Bible app when reading , studying the Bible for me it’s hands down ; NKJV , NLT , AMPC - always comparing with the KJV . I really don’t like the NIV has far too many verses missing/ taken out - the new paraphrasing bible’s actually scare me , it was impossible to keep things in context. If your a new believer keep your head in the Bible , stay away from TV Ministers . There are still a few that are teachers , but the vast majority are showmen, bordering con men. I listen to Chuck Swindol, Raul Ries , John Mac Arthur, David Jeremiah , Voddie Baucham and Tony Evans and Jack Hibbs as you can tell some are conservative and some are a little liberal. I learned to do this so I wouldn’t become pigeon holed into denomination theology. I am on Pinterest ; B.I.C. Just a and I talk daily to a wide variety of believers from super conservative to extreme liberal- always pointing to the scriptures as the main source, not religion

@@bobdees6428 I definitely don’t listen to tv preachers. I know who the con men are. Even people in my church who are supposed to be so devoted praise Joel Osteen and Joyce Meyer for example and I shake my head. Even I know they are full of it and I’m a beginner. But I also realize Christian’s don’t read the bible. They go to church every Sunday and just listen to what the pastor preaches and that’s it. I’d rather be informed by reading scripture myself than to depend on anybody. That’s how people get conned out of money. Nowhere in the bible does it say if you pay me $5,000 God will bless you. But I guess if you don’t read the Bible yourself you can be conned out of $5,000.

I was so encouraged and informed by this video. While I grew up with KJV , I have always used the NASB all my adult life and was encouraged to hear again that it is considered the most accurate translation. My Bible Lit professor insisted on its use. I became comfortable with it. To me it is readable but that may be because I could use KJV comfortably. I have considered using some of the more modern translations due to certain study bibles being available in translations other than NASB. This teaching made me more at ease with trying some of the other translations so that I could use other study bibles sold currently. I appreciate your clear and informative presentation. Thank you.

My friend recommended the ESV but I didn’t like it much. I thought of NASB but I have been trying to decide which I am going to get. An NASB Quentel wide margin or a NLT Quentel. Side note…did you know the rapture theology came resurfaced from the Scofield Bible. There were only a few people up to the 1800s that believed in the rapture. I tell people don’t get caught up in rapture or not. Just pursue God and be one who impacts the world around you is the main thing!

The Douay-Rheims Vulgate and the 1611 KJV have the most ancient and accurate translations of the Bible, and both contain the entire 72 books of both Old and New Testaments that were in the original Bible which was completed in the year 397 a.d.
It took over 300 years, and generations of scholars going over thousands of documents, to decide which of the documents were inspired writings. So I can't see how scholars today can claim to have more information than the ancients who lived closer to the time they were written. Besides, so many modern translations and interpretations are causing the confusion we are seeing now.

@@dantombs5697 That's actually a source issue; it's accurately translating the text it's based off. KJV actually emended the text to fix it, as noted by the italics (the Hebrew of 1 and 2 Samuel is known to be problematic). A few letters got garbled in transmission, basically.
I actually proposed this conjectural emendation of 2 Sm 21.19: "And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jair slew Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear [was] like a weaver's beam." This doesn't require much tweaking of the Hebrew and jives it readily with 1 Ch 20.5. I think an honest translation should make this emendation, and add a note explaining it.

Most people tend to prefer the shorter or stranger reading as more original, while I tend to consider them likely corruptions. The result is that while my preferred Vorlage is not exactly the same as the so-called received text, it is closer to that than to other text types, including Robinson-Pierpont (I have a copy of their Greek NT, though my ability to utilize it is limited).
In many cases, these verses are still present elsewhere, so removing them does not actually harm the message; however, there are a few places, like Mt 17.21, where some damage very much is done to the context. Also, John 5.4, if missing, ruins the entire context of the passage, and Acts 8.37 is a vital soteriological text. Other passages that jar me when not found in modern translations are Matthew 6.13b and 16.2-3.
*My preferred text contains all of the above* and furthermore has a longer text of Acts 15.34 ("But Silas saw fit to remain; and Judas departed to Jerusalem alone.") as well as a couple verses in Jude.
(Note that the KJV actually contains a marginal note that even their manuscripts did not consistently contain Luke 17.36!)

Hello Mr. Shuttlesworth thanks for all your informative videos, question do you have a particular commentary you use? I use Moody. I feel for me it’s the easiest to understand but I want to make sure it’s accurate and reliable. What do you prefer? Thanks again and God bless you and your family.

An additional thought: I too find it useful to compare translations. If something strikes me I read in my NASB I use my KJV digital Strongs to compare how ideas are rendered to make certain I am understanding the truth behind what I am reading. I do have a NIV and although it is not my first choice I do find I receive new insights from verses I feel I know very well.

Thank you for presenting your arguments in concise, logical terms. I use multiple translations in my Bible studies, and believe Christians should not use just one translation. I have great respect for the NASB, KJV, NKJV and the ESV. I use the ESV as my primary Bible, however I particularly like the NKJV for Old Testament studies. I'm not a huge fan of the NLTV, however I do believe you get the true Word of God from it. I would be comfortable with anyone using any of the five versions you mention.

sorry only the KJV will be the correct bible, read the following
we as Christians know that Jesus is the Son of God, can anyone deny this fact, no, Jesus is God's Son, now you call out the NKJB precise translation,
sorry you are wrong then why do the NKJV and the NIV state the following that Jesus is God' servant
      NKJB
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, glorified His Servant Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate, when he was determined to let Him go.
Acts 3:26 To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities."
      NIV
Acts 3:13 The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus. You handed him over to be killed, and you disowned him before Pilate, though he had decided to let him go.
Acts 3:26 When God raised up his servant, he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each of you from your wicked ways.”
the following bibles are corrupt NIV, NKJV, NRS,NC, ESV, NAS, RS, LB, GNB, RV

When we notice that some Bibles do not have a certain verse while others do, is it true that the discrepancy is always because of an addition and not because of a redaction? Did the one that have the "addition" come first? If so might that account for why we see some Bibles with a number instead of a verse? Some Bibles do supply a number, but no verse is given.

      1) The verse 1 JOHN 5:7 of the AUTHORIZED KJV is the most SACRED and PRECIOUS verse in the HOLY BIBLE as it is absolutely referring to the EXISTENCE of the ONLY TRUE GOD/FATHER (John 17:1-3)/HOLY GHOST (Matt. 1:18)/SPIRIT (John 4:24) -- MONOTHEISM/ONE GOD DOCTRINE (Ex. 20:3, John 17:1-3).
      2) Therefore, all bible translations which don't contain the exact words written in the verse 1JOHN 5:7 of the AUTHORIZED KJV are incomplete, inconsistent, unreliable, devil infiltrated, and junks.

King James the sixth of Scotland, became King James the first of England, and called it the "United Kingdom". King James promised to spend equal time in both countries, however, that never took place; Scotland as usual took back seat. Nevertheless, he did gather the scholars who gave the World, the "King James" version of the Holy Bible.
I was born and raised in Scotland; however, I am thankful to have been a United States citizen for the greater part of my life.

If someone was translating and came to words that translated to "break a leg", and if that's what it naturally translated to, I would want that translation in whatever it was that I am reading, along with a note in a margin saying "this expression was used as a way of wishing someone would do well, exact origin unknown", or something like that.
It's like when I'm watching an old movie. I don't want somebody changing the words that one of the actors said. I would want it left as it was. However, if there was an introductory mentor who is introducing us to the movie, I would like an explanation from him, a comment from him that would be of help to us, if he could do that. I believe that would be appropriate. If anyone thinks that would not be a good idea, then maybe there is something lacking in their understanding.
Would somebody be so wrong to say that the movie was somewhat corrupted because somebody did change the audio on that old movie, and explain why they say that, or would they be speaking on a level they are not qualified to speak on? Who is it that says what is qualified or not? Who is it that created us?
What if somebody says that old movie is 100% original without any external changes? Would they be right or would they be wrong, if somebody did change the audio to "help" us? If someone say, "Well that's not entirely true. The movie was indeed altered later. Something was removed from the audio and something else was inserted, and let me tell you why they did that..." If they offered a truthful and complete explanation and it did indeed help us, did they do us a disservice by saying so? I don't think so. I'm not for extremism. I'm just sayin'. I'm not saying that word for word formalism is the way to go without exception.

Thanks a lot. But can you explain why there is a big difference in the verse Romans 8:1 in King James as compared to the other translations (NIV, NLT etc)? While the King James and New King James are saying there is no condemnation for believers who walk in the spirit, the others are quiet abut how you live suggesting that it doesn’t matter how you live.

Thank you for this presentation. I use primarily the NASB and NKJV. Unlike some, I've never found the NASB to be a problem with regard to reading; I even prefer the 1977 version over the 1995 version. I haven't tried the 2020 version (haven't felt the need). I have KJV, ESV, CSB, HCSB, NET, and NIV Bibles; even an Interlinear Bible. I teach Sunday school and prize closeness to the original languages. I just subscribed, too.

I remember hearing people say back 40 plus years ago, that the KJV and the Geneva are good Bibles and that there were some crazy things going on with the new Bibles. At the time I remember that the Good News For Modern Man Bible was something some people wanted and liked.
Then today I found a channel on you tube where it was said that if you find a Bible version that doesn't have Matthew 18:11, those are the ones to avoid. Apparently there is some sort of "family" or strain, or line of Bibles that have some common manuscripts or something about them that we should avoid.
Is there any truth to that?
