Big Opel fans in this house so we considering this to replace our Astra k. The elec model is well priced (diesel rules in our house but ill be defo test driving the electric mokka) Any word what the diesel engine is? I really can't decide how big or small the mokka now is from the pics in the press. Is it smaller than outgoing mokka like a juke. I know the crossland is built on the 2008/Corsa platform so is the mokka a standalone Opal product within PSA. The Lux lights I'm near sure are the intellilux matrix lights.....a class feature on any car if you do night driving.
No new 2008 - Corsa is not built on the same platform as Crossland, Crossland is on an older plattform, the old 2008, Mokka is on the same plattform as Corsa, 2008, the new Citrroen C4 och the new DS 3. Mokka is based on that version of the plattform and body that is DS 3 and it is considerably shorter and lower than the old Mokka, (but slightly larger than the Corsa) - the reason is low weight to increase range and performance of the electric, Mokka surpasses both 2008 and DS3 here, also by lower air resistance. The two small "air intakes" under the headlights are real and creates an "air shield" over the front wheels. Because the interior spaces were important for Opel while PSA does not attach much importance to such things, and because it is based on DS body, it is smaller. It is a small hint larger than Juke in all dimensions, but slightly lower. The Diesel is 1.5 110 PS/HP 3500 and 250 Nm 1750 184.39 lb.-ft. The intellilux is a more advanced, developed version of those from Corsa.
The ridge up the centre of the bonnet is unusual. It is so quiet and seems solidly built (quiet is the new cool in cars). Impressive vineyards around Dublin!
That ridge is a fairly common design with Opel , from the corsa C bonnet to the Astra H 2004 -2010 , that same ridge is on the bonnet , inside in the centre on the dash and carry’s through to the boot lid and bumpers . It’s probably PSA way of keeping it Opel looking .
@@Bistonounou123 The ridge up the centre of the bonnet is actually from the 1956 Opel Kapitän and has been used ever since with some exceptions between 1983 - 2002. This clearer model is taken from the 1960s-70s. Seven different design details are taken from older models. And PSA actually have nothing to do with the details.
@@Djeseret yea , I don’t know how old it was , I knew it was fairly common with Opel styling and it’s PSAs way of keeping it “Opel ” instead of them turning into a Peugeot or Citroen .
Great review, Interesting car. In Scotland however I wouldn't buy one for about 12 months or until Vauxhall starts to sell volume stock to garages to pre-register. The Corsa e for example is selling at £24k now for pre-registered cars. The Corsa would have sold better if they had given it the same dash as the new Mokka.
There is the additional equipment K29 On board battery charger 11 kw three phase. Do I need it? I do not live in a house and I do not have three phase. I've been told that thanks to this integrated charger battery charges faster everywhere. Is that so?
No you don't need it. The only thing that determines how fast the car charges is what speed charging it can do according to spec. 100 kw is possible in this!
The 11kw will allow you to charge quicker on say a 22kw charger. Some of the early Corsas on my had 7kw onboard chargers. If you were charging at Tesco on a 22kw charger you could charge to full in 3hrs 20 if you have an 11kw onboard charger and 5 hours with a 7kw charger. So yes, it does matter what inbuilt charger you have
At 33k I wouldn't buy with out a decent arm rest. Sounds petty I know but it would put me right off at that price. I have one in my bog standard 2011 Focus and it makes a huge difference in terms of comfort. Pity Opel missed out on that detail as I'm sure I'm not alone in my love of armrests. Otherwise it looks like a fine car. Great review again.
Very good review. It looks a very good EV for a small SUV, with practical range. The only thing is it is quite pricey. I don’t think you have done a review of the MG ZS Ev, I would be interested to see what you think of that.
@@NobbyOnCars Keep up the great reviews, really looking forward to seeing your review of living with an electric car on a daily basis, they are definitely the future but a lot of people (namely the wife) need convincing 😊😊
good review nobby I'm going to buy an electric car this year i was looking at the peugeot 2008e but the back of it is putting me off also if you want to change air con it looks to be impossible when your driving. the other one i was considering is vw id3 but there is no way i could live with that interior. if hyundai or any of the other car company's brought out the id3 there would be jokes about it i think vw is ripping the people off
The interior in the ID3 isn't the strongest point in the car - in places anyway. The steering wheel is lovely, leather seats really up the vibe of it but looks wise. It makes great use of interior space though. Hopefully quality of plastics in EVs in general improve as the cost of batteries come down.
I love this car to bits but it is far too dear - 10k more than the petrol - why? I understand the list of equipment on the base version is staggering but its stuff that's not needed.
Man or woman calculator, what about all the other 7000 genders too?! For real though great video and really nice review. Does it drive like a Peugeot or an Opel?
Great review as always. I bet while you were out and about doing that drive you turned a few heads. Saying that it looks good but does it have that eye-catching design and future looks? Remove the E badge and line out the petrol, diesel and electric, could you pick out the electric? Electric cars are all about the future and I feel this is becoming normal for a lot of manufactures. Vehicles are been rushed out to get on the "E-market". I also love the colour green with the black roof but not so sure about the black bonnet or the fuel/electric flap looks very big. Inside the interior looks good and well presented for a petrol or diesel but for an electric vehicle, I would be very disappointed. In my opinion, you turned heads because of the colour and not the design and I would be guessing that nearly all press cars from Germany came in a green/black.
Not just green, two tone black and white ones were on show. For some people, I think they don't want their car to look electric. The more of them that come on stream, the more normalised they become too though I think!
@@NobbyOnCars Appreciate the reply and I respect everything you just said but I would love to know what percentage of people would like their electric car to look normal. (Maybe you could ask your listeners on your radio show} That been said I would love to see some old cars been brought back and looking normal like the original Mini or VW camper van. I think the Hyundai Ioniq 45 is the start of things to come. Honda E another great example of great eye-catching design with nice interior, unfortunately, price, boot space and range lets it down. One other thing I would like to see on electric vehicles is more " LED " lights.
@@aidanmcloughlin8569 I think there will be lots of retro cars coming back as EVs now... Renault with their 5 being just one example.... so there should be some cool 80s/90s cars getting batteries (I think anyway)!
This is absolutely gorgeous. Man I have a crush on this car. We're getting a Mustang Mach E but that doesn't mean I can't have crushes!
A Mach E isn't a bad complaint either to be fair now :)
@@NobbyOnCars the Mach E is most definitely not a compliance car :)

1.5-litre diesel 110bhp 6-speed manual. Similar size to the E2008 but strangely has a bit more range. Think Ford Puma but with a smaller boot.

Any release date for the VXR MOKKA -E?
8:25 you drive past my office!

You mentioned it being 21k for the petrol but would that be spec'd the same as the one you were driving , equivalent BHP etc?
24 not 21. The EV version has a lot on it as it is essentially a 40k car before grants so standard petrol/diesels won't have that level of stuff, no.
Cyborg daytime lights, interesting vehicle, maybe in 2-3 years, for now I’ll enjoy the Peugeot

It is in the plan but lockdown is causing issues with some brands!
A good, high quality and attractive car but the back doors seem to be quite small and the opening angle is too narrow. Not much leg room.
A smaller car, there's no doubt. Very impressed with the lack of road noise and the dash quality though!
So what kind of money are going for?

Small if you're carrying seats in and out regularly, they open at an odd angle.
