This is the most comprehensive video about the Lepidosauria (tuataras, snakes and other lizards) that has ever been made. Over two years in the making, this is the definitive guide to one of the largest tetrapod lineages on the planet. Happy Leoidosaur 2024!

33:30 is the name a reference to the Faraway paladin ? probably not
Idea for a YTshort: Every time a lizard evolved into snake shape
I‘m not even at 1/4 of the video and it already happened two times xD
Hey Clint! I keep wondering if there was at one point in time that there was a third group of lepidosauromorphs that exhibit traits from both Rhynchocephalians and Squamates that could have possibly survived into modern times on an alternate earth, do you agree with that possibility?
"I will never run out of animals to show you, I will run out of life" amazing quote
New goals in life.
At 13:00 as you said "most geckos possess the ability to vocalise" the gecko standing on the ceiling above my head started to chirp.
~envy~ sent in your general direction
"look at me! I'm so talented"
The video NEEDS to be added to The Amphibian Foundation's Master Herpetology curriculum asap. Very well done!
Not only is this one of your best videos my friend, but one of the best videos on TH-cam I’ve ever come across! A true achievement you and the whole team should be exceedingly proud of! Stinkin’ rad indeed! Also, if anyone reading this comment hasn’t subscribed to the Patreon, what are you doing, it’s awesome! Amazing video my friend!
I just became a stinking’ rad fan on Patreon because your comment reminded me I wanted to be for a while now. What was I doing…. Thank you for the reminder ;)
Best watch pineal eye , in built chronometer tic tic
Facinating Clint , mate
Lizard seem to me It's used as a generic term to describe a species 99% of people haven't even seen , nmaybe a skink , Goannas r they lizards coz one tried to climb me on the AUSTRALIAN east coast, thought I was a tree , I seen them claws and ran to a tree my self frightened the shite outa me ,. Ric
I did just unsubscribed however, also the patreon promoters in the comments, it's too much
Clint and his team make two years of work seem super easy, barely an inconvenience❤
Pitch Meeting reference.... that's culture right there 👌👌
Pitch meeting!
We rented a house in Southern Florida for vacation. Very clean house but after dark it sounded like a cage full of birds or something. I turned on the light and there were geckos everywhere in that house
You could be sure they weren't Tokays or you would have heard more than rustling.
Did you catch one?
@@jmalexander131the house or Mediterranean geckos down here make chirping sounds
Idk how to explain that this would make me happy
It’s like surprise cats. Like. Hell yeah dude
You mean geico
Turning into snakes is the carcinization of the Squamata.
Ophidiization
@@justusb.plorer8773is that a thing
But are snakes the hagfish of squamates?
EDIT: No, it is in fact the Dibamids that are the hagfish of squamates....
@@playmaka2007who is the hagfish of hagfishes?
This was the absolute best thing to wake up to on a chilly Saturday morning
Clint, im very glad you finished puberty at 1:53:29. That was the most flawless voice crack ive ever heard
Agree, Mighty Mouse just took his last defeat=)
Who didn't understand what my comment is about, watch DJ's (Demetrious "Mighty Mouse" Johnson's) recent retirement speech he gave at a One CHampionship's event, you'll get what I'm saying =)
You absolute mad man….You really uploaded something like this? I’ll be watching this for days. Cool!
the word "galliwasps" brings me so much joy
Clint please for the love of god NEVER stop making videos. You are one of the most enthusiastic and capturing people I have ever seen. Thank you for your truthfully wonderful content man
Fun fact: the Chinese name for geckos is bihu, which means “wall tiger” presumably for their catlike hunting style
I think this will require a few watches. I honestly can't believe how much work you've put into this. Thank you. I'm sure students and reptile peeps will be watching this for decades to come.
I was thinking about 15 minutes in that I wasn’t gonna even know what I was hearing on the first watch and I was going to have to watch at least 3 times to grasp any amount of it. So much information!!!
Playing this in the background while I grind homework and try to ignore ongoing events. Thank you Clint!
This video is one of the best documentries I have seen, actual information and facts about the animals while still keeping it interesting.
This is one of the best additions to the library of knowledge in years
The way Clints hair kept changing. I look away for 2 seconds and he's got a slick back.
Made it through the entire "movie" while drinking my coffee this morning. I had an extra hour due to day light savings happening this weekend, and this was a wonderful way to spend my "extra" hour today. Thanks so much! I really enjoyed learning more things about this amazing hobby we have. I CANNOT wait for the Boa documentary later this month!!!!!!
46:32 A fabulous flaunting of fantastic phonetics, friend.
Alas, it is finally here, and I gotta say this is beyond incredible! Thank you Clint, Jason, Will, and anyone else who put this wonderful source of knowledge together. Happy Lepidosaur 2024!!
Wow, this is great. Thank you Clint and your team for not putting this behind a paywall!
*scrolling through my feed looking for something to listen to on my drive home, sees this video* YES CLINT GIVE IT TO US
Mr Clint, you hurt my brain. I am definitely going to watch this 5 or 6 thousand more times because that was a lot of information for my smooth brain to digest. This video/movie was excellent and you could see the amount of time and energy that was put into researching and writing just by how it kept me engaged from start to finish. But most importantly you could see the love and dedication the team at Clint's Reptiles have for educating the public and showing folks that even the furless critters in our world are not always something to fear.
Clint you and your team are absolute treasures here on TH-cam! Your content makes me feel like im sitting down to my favourite classes in school without the horrid aura of being in school. And now with this meaty documentary you are officially the LIZARD KING OF TH-cam 👑
As I just finished babysitting a plumbing issue for 7 hours, I wish this had come out a few hours earlier! Love you guys
i get so excited when I hear clint call things the hagfish of
What a way to start my Saturday.
It's Lepidosaur 2024 baby!!
Oh my God! The Clint's Reptiles Feature-length Lepidosaur video is finally here! I've been having this teased at me since I discovered your channel earlier this year. Congratulations on reaching this - and all the other milestones.
Yes, I'm into that sort of thing. For sure. :-)
Hands down best documentary ive ever seen. Cohesion, entertainment, writing all off the charts. Bravo
this came out on my birthday today its the best timing ever for the best lizard video
Good to see this project completed. Love to see diversity in such under-covered clade
congratulations Clint and team!!!! what a phenomenal achievement and entry into zoological media canon!
That was awesome! I had seen all of the videos that this is made up of, but seeing them all organized in this way makes it so much easier to follow! Thanks a lot!
It's finally here. This will be my Saturday night movie! Congratulations, Clint and team!
1:58:13 " and just for the record, i will never run out of incredible animals to show you, i will just eventually run out of life" ❤
This is terrific! I was not expecting to learn all this on a random Saturday morning, but here we are!
Finally went through all of it, this is incredible. I'm still dizzy from all the stuff I learned. Thank you Clint, you teased this a lot in the past and I can see why, it's monumental!
Clint, there is a fellow TH-camr named Jeff Williams. He has a 'caliche bed' gold mine that sits atop an aquifer zone. He has found long red wormlike creatures that exist in this wet zone. I am not sure the species has been described yet, maybe I missed his announcement of any study. Would you consider a collab with him toward expanding our awareness. The environment has been sealed from the surface for literally millions of years by cemented sediment beds, so there is a chance for a distinct species at the bottom of his sump hole.
That would be so cool¡🐉
This video is incredibly informative, so much so that I found it easier to watch in sessions over a couple days to give my full focus.
To me this is a good sign because I never got bored with it.
Clint I'm so proud of you and your team for saying "cloud" of electrons ❤❤❤
From an EE
I'm so glad to live at the same time with Clint. Such a wealth of knowledge!
Clint I would have done anything for this channel as a child. I love it as an adult, but my retention is not what it was.
Please make sure to archive everything. When I have kids, if they are anything like me, I want them to have your videos.
Thank you for the great content
Your content and it's educational value is truly appreciated by us all.
Thanks Clint.
This feels like a full semester of clases. Please do more videos like this.
What a great birthday present, thanks for remembering Clint!
I NEED the Most Complete Guide to the Archelosauria Ever Made PLEASE Clint PLEASE!
Don't be coy, Clint. You know EXACTLY what kinda thing we're into. I recently came out of religious fundamentalism, and your videos have done so much heavy lifting to deconstruct my miseducation. I imagine the same is true for many others. I can't thank you enough!
Clint is my friggin hero! Well done sir! 👏🏼 #LizardWizard
Hey Clint. I'm into that kinda thing 😊. Thank you!
I absolutely love learning from you. You're like one of those rare, fun professors in college where it's gleefully obvious that you love the subject. Except I'm no longer in college so there's no stress over testing well! 😆 Thank you so much for making these videos!
I love this so much, my mom says shes counting me watching you as biology now.
It is finally here! Incredibly, this is only a small part of the phylogeny of everything.
I'm glad I found your channel by chance just randomly searching paleo videos. Good job on the first of these documentaries!
Absolutely amazing! This phylogeny was just as entertaining to watch for the second time. Excited to see the boas soon! Happy Lepidosaur 2024!
I can not wait to have 2 hours to watch this. Thank you Clint and team for doing this.
I just found your channel to research snakes and monitors to fufill a dream I’ve had for a long time. I’ve been nurturing a passion for reptiles for some time now, thank you for feeding it. I’ve been looking forward to this documentary.
Cheers.
Bravo, excellent video. Bit strange to hear the repeated calls to other videos, but I understand that the editing of this monster was tough and cutting small sections out like that would not have been feasible.
I'm gonna need you to keep these coming for the next 1460 days or so.
What do you have going on for the next 4 years?
Please do a video on the sale fin dragons!
Also a suggestion for you on really long videos like this. Please put chapters in so the video is easy to navigate through. I had to watch this over the course of several days.
just finished watching this entire thing, its so good, love these vids like always!
It has arrived. I have waited for this ever since I arose from my 9 hour long slumber in my cushioned rack and opened my computer and watched one of your videos(i forgot which one) where you mentioned this video while it was still in it's fetal form. I shall now allot 2 hours of my time to watch this. Or I shall allot that time to the time i am currently experiencing. I am watching it. I will take my 2 hours now. Thank you very much
This is quite literally the best thing I’ve ever found on TH-cam. As someone who has a deep, deep love for geckos (I’ve got a Uroplatus sp. tattoo on my arm), you put as much love into it as I would.
Wooooo! I'm so ready to spend the next two hours getting my mind expanded! Thank you for giving us this invaluable content. I hope everyone at Clint's Reptile Room has a wonderful holiday season! Y'all are the best 🩵💚🩵💚
You just created one of the best documentaries in existence. Amazing video.
Holy skink!
It's finally here
This needs 100 million views, this is something I’ll probably be referencing or holding in my mind for a long time
Clint will always be my favorite educator who may be a Hagfish.
Two more hours away from election coverage and enjoying every minute of it. Thanks a million, Clint!!
I have taken a lot of A&P in Biology and in Zoology. I’ve worked with thousands of animals and still do on a daily basis, currently working for a world class fish breeding facility (working with extinct in the wild Potosí Pupfish and many other endangered species. Including a fully aquatic caecilian) I’ve memorized thousands of Latin names and still do daily. Memorize locales and everything life related.. Just when I think I know something I realize I know nothing. Remember to stay humble and always keep learning! Thanks so much Clint and team for teaching us all about Lepidosauria!
Ps. Love the comment about “as for me and my house”….. aka Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Family.. etc. icing 🧁 on this Cake Video! Thanks for the early birthday present!
Droppin that 2 hour vid like he Contrapoints ⭐ complete with outfit changes, loving it
🦎I need to watch this so many times!
What a wonderfully fun and educational documentary Clint! Such a monumental achievement for such a wonderful group of humans. Thank you for all that you and you're team do to help educate folks. Happy lepidosaur 2024!!!
I’m not skipping any ads, you guys earned it with this one
clint this is AMAZING
This was great and just 3 days before my birthday, I will definitely take it as one of the best gift ❤
I absolutely love these in depth educational videos. Thank you so much for putting so much work into this!
I loved watching this the first time and I assume my annoles and mourning geckos loved it the second and third times :)
Watching this to uplift myself during these nerve wrecking times ❤
This is already exciting!
Thanks Clint for an amazing video. I feel like I need to be taking notes while watching this video.
Thank you from tge bottom of my heart for doing this! You have made my year with this. This is exactly the content i crave!
This was amazing!! Your zoology videos are my favorite and such a long and extensive one is awesome!! I hope you make many more!!!
Gus Gus was the FIRST tame, funny, cute and huggable reptile i had EVER seen. It was the very first video of Clint's Reptiles i had ever seen. From that one vlog...i became a black belt Reptile lover. I went from here to NERD and found Chandler and Tyler, Brian and on infinitum. 4 years later I'm still watching ALL of their most recent videos..like today. Thank-you Clint for showing me a world i no idea existed!❤
One of those scientists who stay in Antarctica at research stations need to bring a bunch of pet reptiles with them just to mess with Clint.
Amazing! Probably going to have to get through this one piecemeal over the course of a few days but I don't want to wait that long to thank Clint and everyone associate with Clint's Reptiles, I'm only 10 minutes in so far but I can already tell this is going to be some seriously high quality content.
This is beautifully edited
I'm glad to see people already commented this many times with the same thing that I'm feeling: this is one of the best videos I've ever seen on TH-cam!
There should be extra thumbs up for this video. Thank you so much for taking the time to make it. You are generous with your time and knowledge.
I am so happy that documentaries like this are so accessible!
This is so neat!! Way to go Clint! I'm proud of all you've accomplished!
Magnificent documentary!
I thonk a great idea for a future video would be on discussing the methods by which we determine a clade's composition. For example, how we know death adder is an elapid despite its superficial similarities to viperids. How we can reliably classify taxa when convergent evolution muddies the water! We'd be into that kinda thing!
Thanks!
Absolutely incredible video! Thank you for all the work you put into this! Amazing sir!
This is an incredible achievement!! I can't even tell how much more excited I am for the "legit" educational stuff you're going to be comin' out with in the near future. All the Phylogeny and Herpetological class type videos are gonna be amazing 😁
I love skinks so much. I recently moved to an area that has native five lines skinks. So sometimes a friendly little guy will just wander up to our sliding glass door and look in to say hello. It makes me unreasonably happy.
Thank you for all the work you put into making these educational videos. I enjoy them so much. ❤
I'm so grateful for you and the passion and drive that you have to educate others
Ahhhhhh yes I have been waiting so long for this 😂😂😂😂 lepidosaur 2024
