I GREW UP watching Clone Wars as a kid, but the robotic ones make much more sense! They're BATTLE DROIDS. They're not like clones. They're literal machines from a factory meant to kill. I LOVE the original Battlefront games, more than the new ones. I thought people didn't like the comedic shift but seems I was wrong. I love having a menacing, robotic feel to literal killer robots!
I grew up on Clone Wars, but a battle droid, especially in live action, doesn't sound right with a comedic voice. The robotic voice meant for LITERAL robots fits better in my opinion...
It's no wonder you keep deleting my reply, Nazi... That's what Nazis do. The Nazis were famous for trying to delete things, too, if you remember correctly, which I'm sure you don't, hence all the obvious error. Gina Carano was a great way to expose my fellow humans for the lowlifes that they truly are.
I love how the other Mandalorians call Dinn "not a true mandalorian" while Bo spends the whole episode seeing how Dinn is more Mandalorian than even herself in some aspects.
Meanwhile the original Taung Mandalorians let anyone who wanted to follow their ways become Mandalorians... now the humans who became Mandalorians act like you need to be born one.
Din and Bo compliment each other's skills so well. I see her being the leader, but Din being her top advisor/General. This is made very clear in this episode when Bo asks for Din's opinion.
@AstroRocket Knowing the guys always think about and always have production and cinematography in the back of their minds, I wonder if they did that on purpose or just an awesome coincidence! Still really cool!
I'm surprised how few people noticed that Bo literally pulled a punch against Axe. She retracted her wrist blade, punched him near his neck, then slid it back out again. She actively chose not to kill him in the middle of the fight, even though he was trying to kill her.
I really love the depiction of why droids don't minding helping, because most organics are short lived and don't ask that much in the grand scheme of things Refreshing when you keep getting the "technology turning against the creator" stuff Really love when Star Wars delves deeper into the droids and their relationships with organics Like ZO-E3 in Vader Immortal or L3-37 from Solo
@@JRA6192 It did remind me of that too. They briefly addressed that whole issue in the Solo movie but it’s really murky in the Star Wars universe as to exactly how much sentience droids actually have.
@@JRA6192 it's not that "they like being subservient", it's that as they see it organics gifted them immortality, so relieving organics of labor for however long they have to repays them by giving them more time to freely spend in their limited lives. they're eternally gracious and just want to pay good will forward wherever they can.
One thing that might be important to come back from this episode is the fact that the planet they helped will support Bo-Katan's Mandalorian government, giving it more legitimacy on the galactic stage. That might prove VITAL to Mandalore's survival in the long-run
also, they still have a droid army of B-1s and B-2s. Even if legally they cannot have a standing army, for all intense and purposes that utopic planet has a LARGE army at their disposal.
I love seeing the things Din has learned in the past come back, and now we know why Kuill acted so odd his entire species is like that, and Din respected him enough to learn his customs to a point where he can communicate with others like kuill
and then proceed to hate one every droid again und lost all his progression from the seasons before. Makes sense he still hates battle droids because of his childhood, but the other idk.
@@oumarsarr4383 His inner religious conflict from season 2? Gone back to his Season 1 version. His character arc where he learnt that droids aren't all evil? Come back to season 1 episode 1 where he hates all droids(That he still hates Battledroids is understandable). His leadership skills that have been demonstrated slowly for 2 seasons? Doesn't matter. Bo's the leader now.
I appreciate the dedication of the Blind Wave crew to travel 4,000 miles away from home, but still maintain their integrity to film in a location with lots of random background noise.
Thank you, I've been very confused about some of the reactions to this episode. You three embody and understand the Star Wars universe with empathy and are able to look deeper while also still simply having fun. Appreciate it a lot!
Exactly! I can't believe people are trying to rip away my enjoyment of the show by explaining what they don't like! Like cmon guys bo katan, robot from movie I like, LIZZO!!!! JACK BLACK!?!?!!!!!! OLD GUY FROM FAMOUS MOVIE!!!!!?!?!?!!!!!!!!! Wow this is all amazing and fun and cool and STAR WARS!!!!¿¡?!.!.!!?!?!?!?!!@
Exactly. I don’t understand how people don’t like this episode. Their understanding and love for Star Wars as a whole, not just a particular character is what makes them in my opinion the best Star Wars reactors out there. Love Blind Wave
@@tracey5745 There was nothing wrong with the episode lol. The vast majority of the complaints are just wrong lol. Like, literally. The complaint is about something that didn't happen. For example: "IT'S JUST A SIDE QUEST GGHHJSIJFS" is a bullshit complaint because that's not how quests work lol. You have to help people in order for them to help you. They needed to talk to the Mandalorian fleet. In order to talk to the fleet, they had to help the planetary government. In doing so, they gained support of said government and completed their objective. This is how quests work lol. This is a sci-fantasy show. It would be boring if there was no conflict.
@bable6314 That's what I'm saying! It's literally perfect in my opinion, I mean we got to see Grogu get knighted! Like holy heck dude that was so awesome!!! Best season of Mando yet 👌
Nobody has talks about the fact we had Alice in wonderland in space. The table with Jack Black was just this crazy thee party with all these crazy aliens, and the game in the end was just the Queen from Alice in wonderland playing the cricket game. Straight up cheating (here with grogu) and the people just cheering! I loved that aspect of the show.
It was so so tacky but I totally got Alice in Wonderland vibes. If it was supposed to be over the top and ridiculous, we should have seen Din or Bo-Katan or someone see it as such, with an eye roll at the very least, but them playing it all as a legitimate world just felt so out of place for me.
I love the look Bo gives Din when he starts with the "I am Mandalorian Din Djarin..." bit, and, the good cop/bad cop dynamic between the two of them is great.
I 100% agree with you, it definitely had that vibe. Unfortunately, that’s the same reason I wasn’t too fond of the episode as I’ve never been big on the animated shows (I find them a tad childish most of the time). Makes sense that the guys enjoyed it though as they’re also big fans of Clone Wars & Rebels.
Indeed! Honestly, I love it when we as the audience get to view the Star Wars universe like this. The fantasy, the oddities, there's like a feeling of whimsy to it in my opinion. There's more to Star Wars than just one thing and I love it!
And that is exactly why I love Star Wars. We can have very serious dark stuff and we can also have silly episodes with silly cameos to remind us that we shouldn't take ourselves too seriously...then going back to the seriousness. I was also not the biggest fan (like the person below in comments) of the Clone Wars anime (mostly actually because I read the clone wars graphics novels which were really really good...Quinlan Vos and all that), however, as I grow older, I cherish SW for what It is: Space Shenanigans.
I love watching them react and talk about it. Twitter gets so toxic when it comes to Star Wars, and for them to love Star Wars and can find the good in any Star Wars contact, as myself can, is great to see.
You guys are a breath of fresh air, so many people have no patience anymore and I'm glad you guys see the show like I do. Was I expecting a buddy cop irobot combo, no was it fun and found interesting ways to advance the story, absolutely. Setting up answers to future problems.
I liked the droid story, it was a fine episode. I just feel like it should have been earlier in the season. But we have seen this before, putting a lighthearted episode before a heavy packed season finale.
No patience? They aired one of the longer episodes of the show and it was celebrity cameo trash full of soap opera acting and horrid canto bight CG. Only the last 5 minutes contributed to the actual story and even that was done poorly. "Fun" filler would be okay if the season was 2 or 3 times as long. But it being the third episode from the end makes this episode just baffling. Very mediocre.
@@Michael-hc2vs you are illustrating my point perfectly, there was hardly a wasted moment the whole episode. The crew here pointed out quite a few but all over the episode we get jam packed with stuff the rolls into current stories or is setting up plot points to be tackled later. For all the complaints of too many cameos all the cameos fit perfectly, lizzo's hammy stage acting style was a perfect fit for a life long royal not grounded in reality, jack black fit this roll of converted imperial who is either super happy for converting or simply putting in an act for the queen who knows that's the fun, tom Holland's brother playing the dumb love struck awkward teenage mon calamari is spot on, and doc brown fit perfectly disgruntled scientist/starwars equivalent to a boomer praising a long dead president was perfect. We also get to explore this emerging dynamic between Bo and Din and the natural chemistry they have (romantic or otherwise it's still not clear yet but I can't wait to see where it goes)
@Ryan Scanlon not to mention it shows again another part of the new republic. A properly rehabilitate imperial. Also did people miss the very clear hey if you help use we can help get you recognized as a proper planet with the republic part. Like the Mandalorains barley have a planet yet are already making allies with other worlds. Like that's important.
@@TheKat12364 exactly, plus I suspect we will return to this planet a few times as well. Them making a point of mentioning this planet was the only "direct democracy" in the galaxy is gonna be interesting, much like how we saw the extreme pacifist Mandalor slowly be undone from the inside we will watch this planet fall into disarray as well. I could see the droids, as content as they are now, eventually demanding voting rights as well likely in response the citizens start causing trouble for trouble sake like in the rat utopia experiment.
This was a baffling episode. Not because of the episode itself, but because I had heard some negative things about it. I was going in expecting something dull or idiotic. But it was absolutely delightful. One of my favorite episodes of the season.
Same, coming into it 5 months late I was expecting the death of star wars. Nope. Just a good episode with a decent mystery. The cameos weren't even that distracting they were well performed and fit I thought.
Hey some interesting references : 1) Plazir is same pronunciation of "plaisir" in french which means "Pleasure". 2) The dôme inspiration is in fact the American Architect Richard Buckminster Fuller, who design the American Pavillon of Expo67 at Montréal, Canada in 1967, where people can arrive per train in the dome. Theme of the universal exhibition was "Terre des Hommes/ Man and His World" - based of the novel of Saint-Antoine Exupéry (Petit Prince's author), which related Humanist values for an ideal world of peace. 3) Also, Captain Bombardier, who could be translated as Captain Bomber, can be related to J.Armand Bombardier (french canadien, province Québec) perfectionnated the snowmobile (skidoo) by inventing the chain treadmill, more efficient as propulsion on the snow. Bombadier cie elaborate also seadoo, airplain and they are reknown for their trains (subway, tramway)... =)
This episode was so good. I didn't make the connection to how much it felt like a Clone Wars episode until you said it, and it does, must be why I loved it so much. I am a sucker for the b1 battle droids anytime they show up. This was amazing fun.
Dang, Rick must be feeling pretty unwell. Hope he feels better soon. Edit: They messaged me on Insta saying ‘He’s settling in! It’s a big change for him,’ so I’m thinking it’s anxiety maybe. Hope he gets to enjoy London 🙏🏻
@@tamaraangelo5997 i believe he had surgery somewhat recently and last week had to go to er due to feeling unwell so it may just be related to that and those issues flaring up
This episode was SO fun! I just love more world building, especially when it contributes to the individual time periods in the ongoing saga; plus who doesn’t want more Grogu cuteness?! I just realized this episode had a theme; three separate unlikely relationship, starting with the runaways, Jack Black’s character being rehabilitated and falling in love with a Royal, then Din and Bo supporting each other in the end. Oh, and of course Grogu and Lizzo! 🥰
The reflection of the TV in the background was actually really helpful to hone in on exactly what parts you are watching when you don't show the footage side by side. It's really useful.
I believe there was an explanation for the change in the B1 voices/personalities. I think it was Clone Wars that showed us a scene of some B1s talking about how after Anakin blew up the command ship, they were upgraded to individual thought, which gives them the ability to form their own personality.
I’m so glad they liked this episode. These guys are who I look to for when it comes to Star Wars facts/opinions. They understand world-building and how some side questlike episodes are good. Love ya Blind Wave!
That other ship with the Gauntlets and the Light Cruiser is that cargo freighter they hit with Din in the second season, when they first met. I forgot that that ship didn't get destroyed, and they totally just flew off with it.
I LOVED your reaction! This was such a fun wonderful episode! I think if there were more than 8 episodes people might have been more relaxed and enjoyed the journey this episode took us on. Thank you for your sincere and genuine love of Star Wars ❤️❤️ have fun in London❤️
it's an unexpected pleasure seeing these three midwestern guys in the middle of the old empire. just like a certain young moisture farmer from a backwater outer rim planet visiting the capital of the galaxy. 😄
My wife pointed out to me that one of the tables of droids are the same kind as R3X (RX-24), the former pilot of the original Star Tours ride, and currently the DJ at Oga’s Cantina on Batuu (Galaxy’s Edge)
Din never wanted the responsibilities of the dark saber. He just wants to unite the Mandalorian factions for self preservation than he's off on another adventure.
@@whenallelsfails21 I think they might take him in an interesting direction either in the end of this season or the next if he starts pushing back against the Armorer and the Tribes traditions.
This is honestly my favorite episode of the season. I know people want to get to the point, but it's episodes like this that got me into The Mandalorian and Star Wars in the first place. So much fun and I loved seeing pieces of this sci-fi utopian world.
I enjoyed the main part of the episode; it showed that they are stronger together, if it was Bo on her own she wouldn't have been able to complete the investigation. Din's experience with the Ugnaughts and battle droids helped them gain clues, while Bo was more even-tempered with the droids, and they stopped the battle droid by shooting it at the same time. My main issue with the low-key transfer of the darksabre is that they never seemed to revisit the Armorer's comments in BoBF about him struggling with it because he was distracted (which feels like it might have been because he knew he'd removed his helmet, but he used it so briefly in this episode it's impossible to know if that was it).
I thought the same thing. I figured it was because he was away from Grogu but then he had trouble in episode 2. It was then him being upset about the helmet thing so I could've sworn after episode 3 that he would be able to wield it, but he never used it until now and it was too quick. Normally I'd just say "it was a thing they added to the BOBF so they could see how it went and if they decided not to go down that route, they can write it off as a one off line in a side story" but the fact that this fighting against the blade thing was in Rebels with Sabine makes it all the more upsetting that they sort of neglected it
@@BeachGuy-nt5ot yeah, in BoBF it could just as easily have been a sign of how he was out of balance without Grogu, but then he continued to have problems so that seemed to rule that out. It's annoying that the question has been left hanging.
What I love about our Mando is that he's a roaming gunslinger like Clint Eastwood, not some legendary "figure of destiny" with a mightly lineage or fated to rule or influence galactic events. He's "The Mandalorian", he's iconic and he can show up anywhere whether it's a dust-town, a forest or a futuristic city and look awesome. He can meet and interact with the huge names, like Luke or Ahsoka, and it will never feel out of place. And his great legacy will be in the upbringing he gave to Grogu. I'm really happy he's given up the dark saber, I'm really enjoying following a character that isn't "the chosen one", he's just a roaming badass trying to do the right thing
First the Beskar Spear and now the Darksaber; Mando Now Really needs a new Melee Weapon. {Here's to hoping when he joined back up with the covert, the Armorer restocked him with new whistling birds}. Or at least a new melee weapon along with/besides his Vibro-knife.
@@johannesbowers7467 I just feel like he really needs another new melee weapon as it would come in handy in certain situations; situations that are just like when he had to fight the Dark Troopers where all of his shooting arsenal were rendered useless, and same thing against the Scorpenek droids
This is one of my favorite episodes! I watch Marvel and Star Wars FOR cameos and if an episode doesn't have a big surprise cameo, it's disappointing to me lol. I keep watching every week expecting Thrawn!🤣
@@fuzzyotterpaws4395 That's the problem with the Fan Base and the Production team. Instead of Cameos which give a small high. Give us a proper story with developed characters. Give us something that is worth watching instead of constantly waiting to see who the next cameo is.
Adam from Heroes Reforged said something about the beskar remnant in Mof Gideon's transport that I hadn't thought of and that's the beskar spear was a weapon created (which is not allowed from their creed) and that was from a magistrate that was working for Thrawn. So, it would make sense that Thrawn could be behind the extraction and using the beskar to frame the Mandalorians either on purpose or if any evidence was left behind.
You guys' take on this series is so refreshing. I can never understand fans who get mad when they get more Star Wars at the expense of the plot not blasting through to conclusion. The world building and characters are what makes this series fun and the more time I get to spend with Mando, the better.
Plus he seams to have spended all of his whistling birds (at least this is how i think its spelled), there's been a lot of missed oportunities he could use them, yet he didn't.
Best backdrop you’ve ever had! Hope you’re enjoying your visit. That was one crazy episode and I’m not sure about it. I do like Bo and Din working together as they complement each other. Never thought Din would be the one with people skills: character growth.
This episode reminded me also alot of that one Star Wars FFG RPG Adventure "Debts to pay" with a small droid revolution on a mine asteroid. And i got so much ideas from that episode and had so much fun watching it.
A weird silly but fun episode that reminds me so much of The Clone Wars. I also love how Din basically became the bad cop when dealing with the droids. I literally said “your racism is coming out Mando” 🤣🤣
Nice backdrop of the O2 "Millennium Dome" That airport nearby is the City of London Airport, mostly used by rich short haul flyers..... Hope the guys enjoy their trip to the Excel Centre for the SW Celebration.
Kind of weird to me that so many people are confused about/don't know what the story of the season is supposed to be when it so clearly seems to be about Din and Bo experiencing personal growth, developing their leadership skills, and unifying the Mandalorians, juxtaposed against the struggles (and the inevitable failure) of the New Republic. They're bringing their people together and making alliances with others around them. That's going to be important when they have to start confronting Imperials like Gideon when the New Republic won't.
I think thats because theres a contingent of people who see this as the Din and Grogu show and are like "Why are we focusing SO much on side characters? All this B Plot doesn't make sense. Why isn't Din uniting the Mandalorians and defeating the Empire?"
This season feels so much more cohesive and focused than the previous two and I am loving it. It’s a story about mandalorians, their culture, and the building of their future. So much has happened already and it’s blowing my mind that people are saying nothing has happened and every episode is filler like how can you not see the bigger picture here. I think it’s beautiful and it’s shaping up to be the best season by a long shot
@@TheLoreSeeker Din and Grogu (I.e. Wolf and Cub) was literally the premise of the show for its first two seasons. They trained the audience to expect that to continue. Now, Grogu is a prop, at best, and Din is a side character.
Don't mind this, just me rambling... Not sure why people would consider episodes like this filler when a lot of important things happen that can and will come back around. -new allies, an entire planet in fact, that will help reestablish mandalore on an galactic politics level -they have battle droids: reminds us of the clone wars and the different ideologies involved. Also Din's position toward droids in general. They could also become a bigger problem, at least the nano droid nepenthe stuff might. After IG-11 earlier this season and this episode, reprogrammed droids seem a bit of a recurring theme (btw maybe we can get IG repaired here?) There is still the open thread of dark troopers, that will likely come back with Gideon, important to keep in mind, bc they are hard to deal with, maybe not if you can just give them reprogramming juice -it seems like a small thing, but Grogu is flaunting his force powers more and more, not at all hesitant to potentially out himself. He is less afraid and growing stronger, his training with Luke paying off. his title as knight could also be leveraged in the future, he is sort of a connector, linking the new Jedi, Mandalorians and now others. Kinda taking after Din: -we see Din's expertise in communication again with the Ugnaughts, of course reminding us of previous seasons when he talked to other species. He gets how different people think, much better than Bo, meaning he will be crucial to her success in bringing together the Mandalorians and probably also in raising forces (including the new republic perhaps) against the enemy, when just mando firepower won't be enough -Obviously we do advance the story and learn what the fleet has been up to, doubling down on the question if they were hired to free Gideon or if they were framed -Bo's desire to reclaim and unite mandalore fully reawakens, she takes her fleet back and gets the Darksaber without directly fighting for it after refusing this before. -the mandalorians accept it showing they are more flexible in their rules than assumed and possibly open to other changes like more democratic/shared leadership -they also accept Din as Mandalorian once Bo talks about their ancestors. He is no longer a zealot cultist to them, mostly. -however not all in the group might be happy with these developments and start more infighting and intrigue. So yeah, I think this episode had a lot of interesting potential seeds for later. It might not have been the most exciting for some, understandable, but unlike movies, in a show like this we get to take time to set things up and have some breathing space after the action packed last episodes before shit inevitably hits the fan again. Personally, I like it a lot. The theories and discussions that arise and the resulting anticipation of what happens next are fun to me. I have spoken.
the idea of droid rights is always something that interests me and thought about it alot this ep, tbh when Din was kicking the super battle droids i lowkey was like "i want one to just smack him like 'fuck off'"
To address the comment about Mando/Grogu splitting and the ST ruining Anakin's sacrifice, I believe two things can simultaneously be true. I can agree with Eric that, yes, a significant moment was clearly Din showing Grogu his face, briefly turning his back on his creed to express his love for Grogu. I also think it's true that a part of that significance was forcing Din, who'd gone from merely taking Grogu as a quarry to genuinely loving him and treating him like a son, to separate from Grogu and have to grow (at least for a time) without him by his side. I think people were interested in seeing how both characters change when they no longer have the other by their side. Likewise, I think a moment of interpersonal significance with Vader can be saving his son when he couldn't save others he loved, while a larger significance can be Anakin finally emerging from Vader, toppling the evil within him, and finally ending the reign of evil that was Palpatine. Both can be true and important, just for different reasons.
This was an amazing episode. I really liked this one a lot and I thought it was great. And it was off the walls crazy with some of the things they did and with the people that showed up. But despite how weird this one was at times I felt like everything about it was just so great in every aspect. The the story, the action and the interactions between Mando and Bo-Katan made this episode even more amazing. I also loved the score for this episode, it gave us both that classic Mandalorian theme that we love and some action, thriller sounding themes. And the set design for the locations in this was so amazing. Plazir 15 just looked so beautiful and lived in through out the entire thing. Also the giant domes of the city did kind of look like the Epcot Ball. Right at the start it was really cool to see Axe Woves and Koska Reeves again after their last appearances since Season Two. Especially since Axe Woves actually got to be a fully fledged character this time around. It was also really cool to get to see another large group of live action Mandalorians. And I really liked how seeing as these use to be Bo-Katan’s fighters they all seem to follow the “Clone Wars design” were basically all the Mandalorians had the same design. And oh my God Jack Black was in this episode! This was a massive surprise, I am so happy that he was in this. And to me this was honestly one of those Star Wars cameos you didn’t know you needed until it happened. Also I think he played his role perfectly, his line delivery alone sold me on how much he fit the part. And with another surprise cameo for his episode, we got Christopher Lloyd! After almost a year of speculating what his role could be in this show he finally appeared. And you know what, call me crazy, but I loved his speech and I wanted to hear the rest of it. I find it so interesting that he was a Separatist that not only resisted against the Republic but against the Empire too. I also find it interesting how lately in Star Wars they keep bringing up the point “Dooku was right” first Tales of the Jedi, then Bad Batch now this, I wonder if this is building up to something. I really liked the scene between Din and the Ugnaughts, not only does it show that Din still thinks about Kuiil and his time with him but also that Din was able to pick up on a bit of their culture from him. I also really liked getting to hear “I have Spoken” again. I also loved being able to see Battle Droids in live action again, I thought they looked great and listening to that one speak with Bo was so fun to watch. I also loved seeing just how much Mando hates these droids, from just the second he laid eyes on them you could tell that he wanted to destroy them all. And it’s very poetic that the majority of the Battle Droids here were B2 Super Battle Droids seeing as how they were the ones that destroyed his village and killed his parents. Then we get to see the fight between Bo-Katan and Axe Woves which was so awesome. The choreography felt so great whether it was them going hand to hand, fighting with their knives, or using other weapons in their arsenal it felt awesome throughout the entire thing. I also really liked the various ways they were able to use their jetpacks throughout the fight. And I loved this episodes finale scene where Mando gives Bo the Darksaber. Not only was it great to hear how Din was able to find a loophole in the Darksaber logic but also that Bo-Katan is finally getting rightfully wield the Darksaber. I can’t wait to possibly see her use it more in action and that if now that she has rightfully won it, will the rest of the Mandalorians join and follow her. I really just enjoyed this episode a lot. It was so amazing in every aspect and served as a great action packed thriller. I am super curious to see where the rest of the story will lead the Mandalorian and Grogu and what will happen in next week’s episode. This is the Way…I Have Spoken
I find it an interesting dynamic and a bit of a personal headcanon that at the same time the clones were developing their own personalities throughout the war, so too did the B1 battle droids. A nice dynamic especially when you look at how rigid the clone commandos and droid commandos both are compared to their "reg" counterparts.
The ending of this Episode caught me off gaurd, but overall I loved this episode, a cool return to the we're on a quest, but to do it we gotta do this quest, Just a fun breather episode after two pretty plot driving episodes
Fun reaction as always guys. I've come round on this episode a lot since the first watch, albeit still with some minor gripes but I think it's more fun on the rewatch. The Bo-Katan and Axe Woves fight was great to see at the end and it would be fun if we got more live action Mando-on-Mando scenes before the end of the season.
1.Din never wanted the dark saber. 2.Paz only interfered to battle Din so Din had to respect that as well. 3. He gave the saber to Bo because he considered her as a friend. They have been strengthening their friendship since episode 2. Din did not want to fight Bo because Din puts Mandalore's survival rather than causing any conflict that could lose their chance to rebuild their home planet. 3. Din's creed teaches him of redemption so he wants that for Bo Katan. Din's character development grows has been growing.
I'm glad to see people who enjoyed this episode. In all honesty, I am not among them. While I do respect the people who like these kinds of episodes, I wish they could also respect those who didn't. I see a lot of people in this comment section telling anyone who had grievances that they're wrong or just don't get it. Everyone should be entitled to their opinions and the fact that there can be disagreement shouldn't be seen as a bad thing, as long as it can lead to actual discussion. Just my two cents. Keep up the great work.
Honestly if you didn't like it that's fine. Everybody has different tastes. The problem lies in the fact that the fanbase has become so incredibly toxic in the way opinions are shared and the motivation behind those opinions. For example, a few comments above yours on this list somebody invoked the name of Kathleen Kennedy and made the rather sexist statement that she is forcing them to replace all the male heroes with female heroes. I don't care whether that commenter liked the episode or not but his opinion on it is based on a very toxic position. The problem now is that so many people don't want to be called out for being toxic or even to think of themselves as toxic so they have to manufacture all of this other BS to hide behind to justify their opinion. While I find that commenter's views deplorable I respect that he was at least honest enough to actually admit them instead of hiding behind some BS justifications. PLEASE be aware I am not saying that YOU are personally toxic or that you are just bashing because of sexism or other isms. I am simply saying that it is a problem within the fanbase these days. And that has a lot to do with why people are drawing such hard lines in the sand on these positions.
If this was a Clone Wars episode, I would have enjoyed it more. The problem is that we only have 8 episodes this season. They should have a more focused storyline, IMO.
@@twospoonspls807 a lot of shows do this thing where they put a lighthearted episode right before shit hits the fan. The final two episodes are probably going to be action packed and lore heavy. And the story is pretty focused, we got more Mandos together, got Bo the dark saber, and have a planet that will support new Mandalore. Everything in this episode furthered the storyline.
@@Sangth123 Or where they're going is attempting to reclaim Mandalore and if they did it now we'd have this episode as the finale instead of episode 6. Not sure I understand the complaint. This is a Clone Wars episode, with nods to Logan's Run, I, Robot, CSI, Alice in Wonderland, and Romeo & Juliet. It was wild and fun. I loved it. Also, did anyone else notice that the moon that Hellgate was banished to is named after a toxic fast-acting pesticide here in the states? (Paraquat)
I remember hearing Christopher Lloyd would be in the show, but I never expected to see Jack Black and Lizzo. And I definitely didn’t expect Din to say Kuill’s catchphrase “I have spoken.”
I really enjoyed this episdoe. The biggest weakness of Star Wars is when they play it "safe". How many Mandalorian episodes are just Din Djarin going to a planet and killing a big beastie? Now, I've enjoyed watching Din play monster hunter, but I appreciate that the writers can take advantage of the episodic format and try different styles and stories every now and again.
Fun bit of film trivia, the white dome out the window behind you guys is the O2 arena (Formerly called the Millennium Done) and was used for a big stunt in a James Bond movie back in the 90's. It was also seen in the David Tennant Doctor Who episode "Rise of the Cybermen".
what if . . . at some point... may be a dangerous battle where bo's life be in eminent danger, Din then weilds that dark sabre and would be able to fight with ferocity and control ... to be able to save or protect bo ... I think Din is now taking a position like a close bogyguard/guardian of Bo, without her realizing it... as to protect her from possible members of the clan to commit mutiny or anything of that sort... and eventually Bo or Din at some point will be able to ride/control the mythosaur as in both would qualify to Lead... or what if, at this point while Bo leads, din would now seak master Luke again and would now subject himself and grogu in training separately by Luke... and while the mandalorians get a beating from the empire, Din returns to rally the clan to battle the empire for a win... just crazy thoughts...
@@albertcabrerajr992 He's pretty much becoming a knight to a queen. Din is prefectly capable of leading people, but he feels most comfortable as a follower. And he clearly trusts Bo, both with his/Grogu's life, and with Mandalorian culture, so he sees her as a perfect queen to their people.
When the fight with the crab/spider-droid happened, i argued back then that this might be seen as Bo's legitimate claim to the Darksaber and wondered why they didn't even mention it in the rest of the episode or even once since then and figured this would have been a great way for Din to get rid of the saber, which he didn't ever really want to have in the first place. Well... somebody better pick up that phone, because i freaking called it! Honestly, this whole season goes completely different than what i thought it would be - and i'm all for it and excited to see where it's going next. Not that i would have minded seeing different Mandalorians battle for the Darksaber, but i'm also kind of glad they side-stepped this whole drama with Din's decision here. Great episode. Loved it. It did, in a way, feel like one of the classic one-off "villain of the week" TCW-episode. Hell, it even had battle droids and Separatists! :D Liked the guest stars, too. And the planet/city looked great. Love how much more of the galaxy we get to see in this season.

Welcome to 🇬🇧 guys !! Hope you have a blast at Celebration 🎉

The sun going down while they react looks so cool when you scrub through the time bar!
I was about to comment the same thing. That was pretty cool

She doesn't want another her leading a faction in rebellion... she remembers what she did when her leader was killed in a duel like this.
I see Din Djarin's role as more Knight of the Round Table following the Code of Chivalry for all Mandalorians.
Revitalizing the Super-Commando Codex Jaster Mereel created in the old EU. A code of conduct for honorable mercenaries.
11:58 - Aaron's reaction to the needle is hilarious... "I don't know how to feel!"

I really love the depiction of why droids don't minding helping, because most organics are short lived and don't ask that much in the grand scheme of things
Refreshing when you keep getting the "technology turning against the creator" stuff
Really love when Star Wars delves deeper into the droids and their relationships with organics

@@JRA6192 It did remind me of that too. They briefly addressed that whole issue in the Solo movie but it’s really murky in the Star Wars universe as to exactly how much sentience droids actually have.

One thing that might be important to come back from this episode is the fact that the planet they helped will support Bo-Katan's Mandalorian government, giving it more legitimacy on the galactic stage. That might prove VITAL to Mandalore's survival in the long-run
and i think they could help rebuilding planet Mandalore, since their planet Plazir-15 is also Dome based just like the city of Sundari in Mandalore.
God I wish the showrunners make a big deal out of it in the next season, just to shut up everyone bitching about this episode
"Might be" - Pretty safe bet that's the entire reason that part of the story was there.

Damn I didn't connect those points! Thank u, that makes this episode (even) more enjoyable for me
It was so so tacky but I totally got Alice in Wonderland vibes.
This feels like a live action Clone Wars episode. Full of silly shenanigans and I love it.
Except this isnt a 20 episode season, this is ep 6 on a 8 ep series, also the flagship show for SW
Roger, roger.
It's crazy to see an actual passage of time through the window.

Man your take on this episode is so refreshing. I’m getting real tired of people hating on the show because plot isn’t spoon fed to them like a baby

Does Din need to get a new weapon next episode? He seems to be light on weaponry now days (lost his Rifle, Spear and now Dark Saber)

Glad im not alone in enjoying this episode it was nice to see a positive outlook on the story .
Exactly. The story shouldn't be restricted to just Din's adventure of the week.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of impatient people in the world and some are very myopic in their view of a story.
-new allies, an entire planet in fact, that will help reestablish mandalore on an galactic politics level
-they have battle droids: reminds us of the clone wars and the different ideologies involved. Also Din's position toward droids in general. They could also become a bigger problem, at least the nano droid nepenthe stuff might. After IG-11 earlier this season and this episode, reprogrammed droids seem a bit of a recurring theme (btw maybe we can get IG repaired here?) There is still the open thread of dark troopers, that will likely come back with Gideon, important to keep in mind, bc they are hard to deal with, maybe not if you can just give them reprogramming juice
-it seems like a small thing, but Grogu is flaunting his force powers more and more, not at all hesitant to potentially out himself. He is less afraid and growing stronger, his training with Luke paying off. his title as knight could also be leveraged in the future, he is sort of a connector, linking the new Jedi, Mandalorians and now others. Kinda taking after Din:
-we see Din's expertise in communication again with the Ugnaughts, of course reminding us of previous seasons when he talked to other species. He gets how different people think, much better than Bo, meaning he will be crucial to her success in bringing together the Mandalorians and probably also in raising forces (including the new republic perhaps) against the enemy, when just mando firepower won't be enough
-Obviously we do advance the story and learn what the fleet has been up to, doubling down on the question if they were hired to free Gideon or if they were framed
-Bo's desire to reclaim and unite mandalore fully reawakens, she takes her fleet back and gets the Darksaber without directly fighting for it after refusing this before.
-the mandalorians accept it showing they are more flexible in their rules than assumed and possibly open to other changes like more democratic/shared leadership
-they also accept Din as Mandalorian once Bo talks about their ancestors.
This is the way.
I love seeing the city get darker and darker behind you guys as the video went on. Another stunning episode from Mando. Lots of clone wars vibes.
the idea of droid rights is always something that interests me and thought about it alot this ep, tbh when Din was kicking the super battle droids i lowkey was like "i want one to just smack him like 'fuck off'"
To address the comment about Mando/Grogu splitting and the ST ruining Anakin's sacrifice, I believe two things can simultaneously be true.
You just nailed it right on the head buddy. That's my exact sentiment towards the Mando/Grogu split and the Anakin Sacrifice.
Character wise it feels like this was another episode for Bo and Din to connect together more which I totally ship it!
Watching while on the train to celebration! Great start to the day
Not only did you guys give a positive review but you guys did so by spitting facts. I appreciate that because I liked the episode, too
So excited you guys are in the UK. I really hope you all have a great time over here
This background almost makes me wish you were doing all your reactions from London 😂
“human life is so short - they don’t ask that much of us. organics created us, it’s the least we could do.”
😢😢
Yeah, my favorite line of the episode. And it is so refreshing to have a story where the robots actually want to be friends to humans.
Loving the view behind you especially the O2 and the thames.Have a good time in London!
Off topic, but I’m digging your choice of sitting in front of the window. Transition from day to night is pretty awesome.
Maaan. Eric. Thank you for that 'Anakin's sacrifice' rant at the end. 😢 Making me tear up like an idiot
I find it an interesting dynamic and a bit of a personal headcanon that at the same time the clones were developing their own personalities throughout the war, so too did the B1 battle droids. A nice dynamic especially when you look at how rigid the clone commandos and droid commandos both are compared to their "reg" counterparts.
seeing london as your backdrop makes me feel some kind of way 💙
The ending of this Episode caught me off gaurd, but overall I loved this episode, a cool return to the we're on a quest, but to do it we gotta do this quest, Just a fun breather episode after two pretty plot driving episodes
2.Paz only interfered to battle Din so
Din had to respect that as well.
I like the way Eric stated that. Luke asked Vader for help and Anakin answered.
Woo! Another fun one! Can't wait for the Star Wars Celebration VLOG!
I believe "diplomacy/diplomat" was the word Calvin was searching for. 8:36
Thank you guys for the commentary on this one. So very well though out and a deep understanding of what star wars is.
This episode felt like something out of the Clone Wars
If this was just "the show where the mandalorians reclaim mandalore" then we'd have 3 really hasty episodes instead of 3 seasons full of charm, action and lore.
@@MikeHesk742 There's a difference between making enough casserole for all 8 guests and making enough for only 6, resulting in everyone getting smaller portion plus a side of fruit loops to pad it out.
@@Sangth123 I don't understand this lol. This is the primary plot of the season: rebuilding Mandalore. This is an important step towards that.
liked this week's episode. enjoyed watching your reaction to it. but it's always the discussions after that i love. enjoy your time at Celebration, bring us back something cool. Looking forward to the next episode and the next vids you will be sharing. LOTS OF LEMONS.
This was an odd episode but fun: always good to see Mercedes, Bo-Katan & Mando playing good cop & bad cop respectively, didn't see Jack Black & Lizzo coming, Doc Brown being crazy. Have fun a Celebration boys; "I have spoken."
Yeah I was definitely surprised and thought it was a bit weird to see Jack Black etc in this, but then I just sat back & enjoyed the ride!
Its like a live action Clone Wars episode
I would've liked to see Jack's time as an active member of the ruling Empire. 😅
(Paraquat)
i live for Calvin's laugh.
i love you can see it go from day light to night time in London behind them out the window as they watch this episode xD its great nice view
I remember hearing Christopher Lloyd would be in the show, but I never expected to see Jack Black and Lizzo. And I definitely didn’t expect Din to say Kuill’s catchphrase “I have spoken.”
15:45 the middle ship is a Gozanti
they were capturing one of those the first time we saw Bo in live action, back in season 2
I really enjoyed this episdoe. The biggest weakness of Star Wars is when they play it "safe". How many Mandalorian episodes are just Din Djarin going to a planet and killing a big beastie? Now, I've enjoyed watching Din play monster hunter, but I appreciate that the writers can take advantage of the episodic format and try different styles and stories every now and again.
i love how the day changes behind them from a light afternoon to night throught the video
I wanted the droids that greeted Bo and Din to be BT-1 and 0-0-0 and for them to be behind the droid revolt.
My boy Mando lost the spear and now the blade probably doesn't even have much wistling birds left he needs a new awesome weapon to make up for this!!!
As well as his shock spear gun
what if . . .
at some point... may be a dangerous battle where bo's life be in eminent danger, Din then weilds that dark sabre and would be able to fight with ferocity and control ... to be able to save or protect bo ...
And he rarely has his jet pack lol
Hi guys!!! Have fun in London. I wish I was there. But listening to you break this down feels better when you guys talk about it.
Napenthe was a 'drug of forgetfulness' in Homer's The Oddysey
Bryce Dallas Howard does some of the best episodes each season
