    Although many businesses are shifting to VoIP, businesses need to understand how VoIP works so that they can use this communication system in the best way. Thanks for describing.

    so it is a must to have a voip provider and without it, voip phones are of no use right?
    also another question, it has ip address, in order for SIP to function, and a phone number as well?

      Hey Kelwin- Yep, a VoIP provider is needed in order to provide a "dial tone" to any VoIP-enabled phone. Once the VoIP-enabled phone is added to your VoIP provider, it does indeed connect to the service using its own IP address and can be assigned a number from your account. If you'd like a detailed understanding of VoIP phones and how they work with the service provider, check out our blog post on the topic here: www.nextiva.com/blog/what-is-a-voip-phone.html

    Thank you. Great video. New subscriber 😊
    Just to confirm, can customers call a business voip number using their regular landlines or mobile even if the do not have a voip phone?

      Hey, welcome to the Nextiva channel! Great question- yes, anyone with a cell phone or landline-based phone can make and receive calls from a VoIP phone with most providers. The experience should feel the same, but you'll still benefit from the VoIP features, such as HD voice and mobility. If you want a deeper dive, check out our article for the complete guide to VoIP: www.nextiva.com/blog/what-is-voip.html

    Thank you for the great explanation. Can I use the same VoIP phone I am using my company in my house or any other place as long as there is internet access? Does the assigned number changes with location? Is the assign number to VoIP phone called DID?

    • @nextiva
      @nextiva  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey there, the short answer is yes! When a VoIP phone is assigned a specific number, it will be able to make and receive calls from that number from anywhere, DID included. Additionally, our desktop and mobile apps can turn your laptop/smartphone into a VoIP phone-- meaning you can make and receive calls on the go! For more info on mobility, check out our article here: www.nextiva.com/products/business-phone-app.html
