In the right mood, I enjoy the slower books like Diamond Eye, so hopefully I will like Briar Club. I am reading it next. I also have Lilac Girls and should read that one in the spring. I definitely respect your commitment to the thick novels when you do decide to conquer them!
Enjoyed your list. Interesting about not being taught about the dust bowl. I was in high school in the 70's and was assigned The Grapes of Wrath by Steinbeck. I greatly recommend it. Also, look into Marie Benedict and Melanie Benjamin. I consider them more fictionalized history as they focus on real persons rather than fictional ones but they are very readable and informative and two of my favorite writers.I have read several Kristin Hannah and your video reminded me that I need to read all of her works. Just subscribed to your channel. Best wishes!
I am so glad I came across your channel. I love historical fiction and I have read many of the books you presented. Yes, save The Frozen River for the winter time. I read it in January and loved it!! I also loved The Nightingale. I am planning to read the Four Winds in November I think. Have you tried Amy Harmon or Susan Meissner? I really enjoy their historical fiction. WW2 books are my favorite too. I haven't read a Quinn book yet, but the Code book sounds interesting.
Don’t know where I’ve been, had no idea you loved historical fiction as much as I do. 🤣. Love Kristin Hannah, I always need tissues. The Dust Bowl wasn’t really taught. I think I’m going to add her to my list of authors to read to zero in 2025. The Women was outstanding and a much needed book. Love your earrings and sweater, so you. I love Lynn Austin’s books too. My favorite author in Christian Historical Fiction is probably the Thoene’s.
Hidden Places by Lynn Austin The Murmur of Bees by Sofía Segovia ( there are some trigger warnings & it's a sad read, but so good ) The Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron
For Dust Bowl literature, you're going to want to read The Grapes of Wrath (though I prefer Steinbeck's East of Eden, which is one of my fave books and he's one of my fave authors - tip: skip Tortilla Flats, it's a weak version of Cannery Row).
I realize that Night, is Historical Nonfiction/memoir. Still a good one to read, still history! ♥️

I know a lot of people love diamond eye, and briar club. I just start to zone out when it’s overly detailed 🤪
I loved Diamond Eye, but DNF The Huntress for the reasons you DNF'd Diamond Eye.
Believe me, we were taught about the Dust Bowl where we live.
Loved The Nightingale and The Four Winds! I have Home Front and The Women and can’t wait to read those! 🩷
@@bethanysbookshelf they are amazing! ♥️
I can’t wait for you to read more middle grade historical fiction! ☺️
@@ABookLikeYou I know! :)
Crow Mary and The Kitchen House both by Kathleen Grissom are great! Loved The Frozen River!
❤📚📚❤️
Great list!
I loved Surviving Savannah by Patti Callahan Henry and The Nature of Fragile Things by Susan Meissner.

Beneath the Scarlet Sky is hands down top of my recommended list. In fact of all your not read yet I’d recommend you put it at your top!
@@cathyvaranka9465 thank you, I will!
I need to start prioritizing more Historical Fiction because I really enjoy Historical Fiction when I pick it up. ❤

I still need to read Divine Rivals. I think I'm going to add it to my fall/winter tbr!
I think you would enjoy The Book Thief based on the books you listed here as liking. It is a great audiobook as well.
@@lisariley8705 I have this book! I just haven’t gotten to it yet!
I would recommend The Giver of Stars by Jojo Moyes and The Last Bookshop in London by Madeline Martin.
The Giver of Stars is actually a future book club pick for my book club 🤭. I’m very excited
I read the Frozen River in January. I want to read Code Name Helene soon!

Divine Rivals is my absolute FAV 👏🏻👏🏻❤️
@@booktime90 ♥️♥️
Just a note, Night is Elie Wiesel's memoir, not historical fiction.
I just finished the 4 winds & loved the nightingale

I have Looking for Jane by Heather Marshall on my tbr. I have heard so many great reviews.
I want to read all of Kristin Hannah's books. so far all I have read is The Nightingale and The Women.

The Murmur of Bees by Sofía Segovia ( there are some trigger warnings & it's a sad read, but so good )
The Lost Castle by Kristy Cambron

Have you read The Book of Lost Names by Kristin Harmel?
@@readswithjacks I have not!
Gone with the Wind is a chunker 😂
@@booktime90 I’ll get to it one day 😂
Worth reading for sure. Very good.
I tried to read Diamond Eye this month, I don’t think I’m going to finish. 🫠
@@bethanysbookshelf right?! It bored me so much. The excessive detail on guns etc bored me to death 😂🙈
