    Personally I think the Remus exhaust is one of the best looking and best sounding Golf R exhausts. Camera might not do the best job picking up sound, but with the valves closed, it’s fairly quiet (especially inside). With the valves opened, it really screams and sound great.
    Dragy GPS Performance Meter: amzn.to/3f88bs6
    Golf R Remus Exhaust includes the race mid-pipe (no resonator), and the 102mm Angled Straight Cut Chrome tips. Integrated Engineering downpipe has a high-flow cat and no resonator. If anyone is interested in this set-up but wants it a bit quieter, then just opt for the resonated mid-pipe or resonated downpipes. AWE Switchpath Remote (or similar remote), is a must if you want full control of your exhaust valves, fully open vs fully closed.
    Below is a list of all the other mods:
    Unitronic ECU Stage 2
    Unitronic TCU Stage 2
    Unitronic Uniconnect+ (overrun file pops & bangs)
    Remus Cat-Back
    AWE Switchpath Remote
    Integrated Engineering Downpipe
    Integrated Engineering Intake
    Integrated Engineering Turbo Inlet Pipe
    AMS Performance Intercooler
    OEM Dynamic LED Tail Lights
    VWR Billet DSG Paddles - Piano Black

      Thanks! 102mm Angled Straight Cut. These are actually the cheapest tip option from Remus. Personally I loved the look of these the most so it was a bonus that they were also the cheapest option.

    Is there a crackle tune to have the pops or is it because of the downpipe?

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I got everything new last year during Black Friday. With Black Friday around the corner I would definitely recommend to wait if you can, and you should see some good deals. Full Remus exhaust I got for under $1,600 shipped, IE Downpipe under $700 shipped, AWE remote just over $200 shipped. All pretty good prices compared to what they sell for new right now.

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I had it installed at KMD Tuning. I went there since they’re also an authorized Unitronic dealer as well and got the tune from them.

    is this with "oem system valve" or electronic remote control valve?

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Xbox Gamer I have the AWE remote to have full control of the valves being 100% open/closed. Without the remote then they open/close depending on RPM so you don’t have full control and it can go from quiet to loud randomly.

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterGonsalves From my experience before I installed the AWE remote, I couldn't get the valves to remain fully closed/open at any given time. After doing a lot of research I came across that they open/close depending on RPM. The different modes may affect it but I believe they still open/close with RPM and don't stay fully close/open at all times. I didn't drive much in eco so not sure if maybe they stay fully closed in eco lol I do love the remote function though because with my Unitronic tune, the Pops/Bangs are only active in Race or Custom. So between the Remote and the tune I can chose between 4 different total sound modes. Open without Pops/Bangs, Closed without Pop/Bangs, Open with Pops/Bangs, Closed with Pops/Bangs lol This video here shows those 4 sounds more in depth if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/UKC9-QlkqoU/w-d-xo.html Sometimes it's nice to drive in Race mode, but still keep the exhaust on the more tame side which the remote allows.

      @@PeterGonsalves I will say I miss driving stick! This is my first non-manual car in 10 years. Had a few Evo's which I loved, Supercharged M3 which never stopped pulling lol Miss that thing. Test drove the DSG and caught me off guard...I actually liked it. But I see myself going back to a manual for my next car. And yea another thing I noticed is for me being a DSG, even if driving slower, as long as I keep the revs above 3k-ish RPM or so then I still hear the DSG fart when shifting up, below that I don't. Subbed to you by the way, return the favor if you want ;) Just picked up a dragy recently so when I get some time want to get some 0-60mph runs...see what she can do.

      @Reptil33 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PeterGonsalves are you still using oem valves with your exhaust? you can code them permanently open or closed via an obdeleven dongle . I have them open on mine (oem exhaust tho) but you can program permanently closed too.

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Honestly with the valves closed not bad at all. Inside with the valves closed it's not that loud to me. Keep in mind my set-up is completely non-resonated. I have the Remus race mid-pipe which has no resonator, and my IE Downpipe is just catted. If you're looking to keep things a bit quieter then opting for the resonated mid-pipe will help.

      Question when you close the valve does the exhaust then use the resonator to quiet things down ? Or does it stop exhaust flow right at the closed valve and not all the way through ?

    Not a lot of pops AWE much better

    • @DrivenDistrict
      @DrivenDistrict  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Pops are more tune related, AWE doesn’t make a tune. Exhaust will just change the tone, but the tune is what will make the pops more aggressive or not.
