    During high humid days, the 2.0 with its warmer target evap coil does not have enough latent heat capacity. There is a dip sw. setting that we have to set for a lower target coil temp during that season, but that is a service call

    We've heard a lot of good things about the Bosch IDS 2.0. Now, what about the cons of owning this? Every product ever made has some cons, especially new energy efficient technology (Steve Lav concurs).
    I have heard of these having a problem removing humidity and not getting as cold on the ac as traditional hvacs.
    Also, having a $2000 control board exposed to outdoor elements and only covered by a piece of sheet metal makes me a little weary. What do you do if you have to service this during a light rain, put up a tent to protect board from getting wet?
    Usually, high efficiency hvacs don't work as good and older units other than saving a little more on your electric bill.

    if your going to install a bosch I highly reccomend you install a furnace or fancoil that has a dehumidification terminal on the control board to slow the indoor fan down otherwise your customer will be complaining about high humidity. Realistically though if your going to install a variable speed unit you should install a communicating one. It really does not cost that much more money

    • @mrpatter19888
      @mrpatter19888 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have a 5t Bova 2.0 but my board is slightly different; condenser fan only has 3 wires instead of 5, and the plug is at the very top horizontal. Anyways, E6 code after our first wind and snow storm in Washington. Only 1 month old! Reset and still E6. I couldn’t find 24v between the 3 fan wires either… Motor or board? Board DC voltage is good at 341v.

I just have one question my friend I have the capability of using the Y one and Y2 on my Bosch 2.0 but it was wired up with one y one Y2 together is there a benefit of doing them separately or should I leave them connected? Amp ratings on the 2.0 they’re 45amp max 26.4 minimum. Does this mean you’re ok putting these units in on 30amp circuits with #10 wire or do they require a 45amp rated circuit with #6 wire? For the 2-3 ton.

    awesome video! thank you for filming this Mike. one question I'd like to ask is when installing the 2.0 airhandler in a horizontal orientation, what is the best way to secure the ductwork to the return side of the unit? I have found that you can only secure one out of the 4 sides of the ductwork to the unit with sheetmetal screws, otherwise you have to drill into the filter rack and it prevents a filter from sliding in and out. Hopefully someone knows the answer!!

    Great vid! Im a homeowner and recently had the 3 ton 20 seer heat pump unit / air handler installed. This video really help explain all the features and parameters. I live in Florida so pulling humidity out of the air is important. Do you know if possible to run Y1 as fan speed 1 and Y2 at fan speed 3 would assist in this? The fan speed parameters included in the paperwork essentially rule out using fan speed 1 for the 3 ton. Any input is much appreciated.

  • @throttlebottle5906
    @throttlebottle5906 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    line voltage and low voltage has to be separated for safety reasons and there's electrical codes covering it.
    thermostat wire is low voltage 50V rated wiring and the line voltage wiring is either 300 or 600v rated, low voltage rated wiring may not enter into anywhere there's line voltage, without a separate isolated splicing area. there's other allowances, but then it has to also be 300/600V rated building wiring and splices should be isolated. once inside the condenser/air handler/furnace/boiler they always used building rated type wiring of 300v or higher and capable of line voltage. there many codes that apply to it.

  • @sers1244
    @sers1244 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If you set the transformer at 208v when getting high line voltage, you will make it even worse, the 208v wiring is to keep the 24v from dropping when use in commercial applications or buildings with 208v not for 260v
