Yes, I believe this unit would be a great choice for electronic music. The M3 has a huge variety of electronic and synth tones, and the on-board sampler would allow you import sounds from any other drum machine, synth, or other sound source. Try plugging your DVD player into the audio inputs of the M3, then sample some old sci-fi movies into it. Run the dialog through some crazy effects and there you go! Thanks for your interest. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing
@kipp0man Hi, Glad you're enjoying our video demos. I hadn't really thought of publishing these demos on DVD, but nice to hear that you're interested. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Thanks for your interest in Kraft Music and the Korg M3. The pads under the monitors are MoPADs by Auralex. These isolation pads help to acoustically decouple the speakers from the desk. This prevents the desk from resonating with the speakers and artificially enhancing certain frequencies. The MoPADs are a great addition to any studio, and we include them with many of the monitors we sell. Feel free to contact me with any other questions. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
great synth, really thinking of buying one of these. Thanks Kraft, another great video guys. BTW, ever think of releasing all your reviews on DVD ? - I'd buy it - I remember loving the "keyfax" series of books, this is the next step. ?
As Rich stated during his M50 video, the Korg M50 workstation is the "sonic essence" of the M3. The preset sounds of the M3 are all loaded into the M50. However, the M3 gives you access to the stunning four-layer piano sample, as well as some improved brass and woodwind libraries. Also, the M50 does not allow for any expansion sounds or sampling. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Thanks for your interest. Yes, the 4-layer acoustic piano sample sounds that good! You are hearing the Xpanded version as all M3s shipping from Korg are automatically upgraded to the Xpanded OS. When trying this unit at Guitar Center was the room noisy? Were you playing through decent speakers or headphones? It's all subjective, but the M3 (in my opinion) has some of the best acoustic piano sounds currently available. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Actually, I don't work for Korg. I'm the Marketing Director for Kraft Music in Milwaukee, and I've also been working as a recording engineer and bassist for the past 15 years. In my opinion, the Korg M3 four-layer acoustic piano is definitely more realistic than any Yamaha piano sample I've heard. However, this is just my opinion, and (like all sound preferences) is completely subjective. Thanks for watching! - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Hi, great video. i'm a drummer learning electric rock guitar, and I am wondering if i can line or mic my jackson guitar into the M3 or any keyboard, and maybe through midi, for instance, play any of the preset sounds in the M3, like piano, synth, transposed bass, and maybe drum sounds. I have a new Boss gt10 guitar effects pedal that I am using through usb on my computer, Sony Acid 6.0 software. The m3 looks like the keyboard I've been waiting for since the original Karma keyboard came out, thnx
@highlandstudio1969 homie, tha korg m3 is just a beast compared to da motif sx and fantom g, i tried them all and the m3 was far ahead hands down. I will recommend this 4 any body thinking of getting a work station. KORG M3 ROCKS
There is some irony when observing visual side of M3 compared to Kronos. If one would objectively study continuation of "X factor", when applied to flagship products in Korg range. One could easily perceive, visually speaking, that Korg M3 is a statement designed product, as continuation form Oasys. I love industrial simplicity of M1 and T series, which is the essence transposed in M3 design. But I find little disappointing that M3 looks should have been Kronos looks, considering his position!
Hi I am planing to purchase Korg keyboard. But I m little bit confuse that which one is best in these three models:- 1. OASYS 2. M3 3. KRONOS Please help me to purchase a keyboard. Actually I like these 3 keyboard very much but I wanna purchase only one. So kindly suggest me which one is best for recording and giving performance.
@metalfiend124 Thanks, just wondering if the midi output of my boss gt10 pedal would send midi to the M3. I guess I'll just check the Boss/Roland website. thanks.
Could you please guide me to some synths with actual synthesis? If an "orchestra in the synth" and "don't waste your time, choose a preset" are none of my approach, which modern synth models should I be looking for?
I already have Three pretty big keyboards, synths, no room for this in my studio, what would you recommend just to get the sound engine/sounds from this synth, pitty they do not release it in rack form?? not enough rack synths around these days?
I have this keyboard, but need to get in the rhythm to know what signature/ meter I need but can't, because the metronome is monotone and to soft can't play in rhythm with this keyboard, quantize also does not put it right in place..
Hi, Yes, the M3 is a fantastic workstation keyboard. In order to do what you are describing, you would need to have a special MIDI pickup installed on your guitar. This would allow you to send MIDI note data into the keyboard. Please feel free to contact me with any other questions or concerns. - Dave McCullough Kraft Music Marketing (800)783-3368
Give some credit to Korg for their Vision...I mean this was in 2009? Yamaha still doesn't have Touch screen on any of their Flagship Keyboards, not even a $5000 Tyros in 2014...Waow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
+DJ ICE As an owner of a Tyros 4 and Pa3X Le, I have to say, that a Touchscreen won´t work that well on a Tyros. It might be nice in the studio, but on stage I prefer the mechanic way of entering data
Do you have a demo for Roland Fantom G ? please send me the link or upload one please if you don't have, that was a special request, thank you man for this marvellous video and keep the good work up :D
to add onto my last comment, it says i only have like 5 Kb of ram for sample stuff and a shit ton for Combis and Programs, also is there a way to record certain parts to different tracks on the multi track system cause ive tried assigning a part to a certain track but it doesnt work and the manuel is very much help?
I have a problem, with my korg when i go to audio sampling and try to record my work onto a flash drive it jumps and glitches(which messes up the track) when i try to record it into a WAV file. Is there a way to fix this or avoid this. Also ive tried saving my recording to the ram on my Korg and it wont let me and it give me only 30 sec of sample time for the ram? shoul that be like that cause i got one for xmas and tahts what ive noticed, in the memory status it says i only have like 5kb of ram
Ok first, the screen on this is terrible compared to the roland g6. Second, the g6 has higher quality sounds and usually cost less than the m3. So which one is better? The g6
hi just new 2 tis page rich, tinkin about purchasing a korg m3 as shown above, can u explain 2 me how ill benifit wit tis piece of equipment , and cubase studio5, which im using rite now, with MANY sounds already in this software, thank-u, if u cud get bck 2 me as soon as u can, cheers
Seriously, with all the DAW software out there, who is drawing velocity lines on this tiny screen!? It hasn't been the 80s for a while now, so synth manufactures should probably not worry about these sequencers any more!
how come every piano rep can speak english and can acually play, but any good guitar reviews are either in some funky language or they suck and sometimes even both!! nice playing by the way!!!
Korg still hasnt managed to get a believable piano sound? is it me or is it the recording all the other sounds are crazy good though but the piano just is missing the mark
Ha ha I'll stick with Kontakt. This little ass screen in black and white I'm not trying to hear. All you need is a midi keyboard and some powerful VsT's like how I got. Btw they sell these actual sounds from the M3 on eBay for about $50 but I get all my shit for free lol.
Talking mighty for a pirate who can't afford a $50 software. Or maybe you're just 12 and don't have pocket money to spare. Either case you're not a potential customer for an 8 year old workstation.

Does It Have a MIDI option and if so when added in do the piano styles play in my garageband or recording interface/computer?

of course Kronos~All the M3 can do is just a part of that Kronos can do~
M3; vastly superior build quality, than kronos; anyone who has touched, and played both, knows...

Haha Yamaha is BEST in acoustic sounds, I know you work for Korg but hey be honest!!!
no. kronos is better
As it should be, considering Kronos came after.

Why do all Korg pianos sound so awful? This STILL sounds like an M1 to me!
Korg need to send some spies into Yamaha to see how its done.
u r right. thats y until now i still have my trinity and triton. i dont want to upgrade anymore.
Dudeee check out on the patch that's on the triton and x50, ballad layer ep 🤤🤤 I guarantee that you will never find anything better than that patch.
Is it better than korg kronos 61 keys??..please help me ..i'm planning to buy one
