I think its definitely not overproduced. Light/medium gamers also deserve deluxefied components, it's not somthing exclusive to heavy gamers. Very pretty game.
Part of the allure of the game is the full size minis for such a simple game. The game would function the same with cardboard pieces (they are making it at the moment). Overproduced, Yes, worth it: Yes. I don't regret anything with purchasing.
@@AssortedMeeples It's not overproduced just because it's a simple game. The community thinks heavy games have the monopoly of super deluxified components but it doesnt. Even a heavy game can work pretty well with cheaper components.
What I really like about it is that it isn't a lot of dead space in the box. The box is that size because it needs to be that size. Everything is fit in very nicely.
An overproduced okay game, its all about the buildings and not the gameplay really, but looks amazing after playing and seeing everyones board thats for sure
I got a game in with my wife last night and it is what I expect from Emerson, a very simple and straight forward rules that allows for a lot of really good and hard choices. There are also a lot of modules to add to it once the base game loses its luster. The buildings are the large part of the appeal for sure!
I have to agree that this game is truly something special on the table when it gets going. I don't think it would have garnered nearly as much attention if it had just been a polyomino cardboard game.
A great looking game and a high quality material obviously!
I got the Sundrop or washed option and couldn't be happier. All the components are as high quality as you could want in a game.

Something something, giant game, something "Rome wasn't built in a day" reference, something. Looks great but good god - that's a LOT of game!

@@AssortedMeeples i might buy the reimplementation foundations of metropolis or just go for the meatier same feel game the princes of florence
@@sansrival933 that is a good way to get the game and I will need to look into the Princes of Florence as I am not familiar with it.
That game is very, very pretty. And also probably not helping with shelf space :D
It is not helping at all on the shelf space. (Loudly crying in the corner.)
No such thing as an overproduced game... Wish people would stop using that term... This game is really great and such a beauty on the table!
