Thank you so much. I'm a professional artist-I should know these things but life got in the way for a while and I wanted to develop some work I'd done a time ago.You really gave me a way forward. Also at art school in the UK the idea of working with photographs is considered a bit naff but why not? I got a chest infection after working en plein air in February so this is a solution.

It’s a wonderful solution ☺️enjoy yourself and leave art school rigid rules behind

Pushing through and not tossing the whole thing. I'm going to work on that. It certainly worked with these four little gems

Yes it’s really good practice to resolve paintings no matter what stage they’re in

For the very second I saw the paintings behind and I subscribed. So beautiful and absolutely in tune with my personal taste. 🥰

You are really entertaining to watch ..not to mention how obviously very talented you are. I love your beautiful abstract painting style! I hope you film your process a lot more often! There are not enough good cold wax/oil artists (IMO) sharing on the tube.

Thank you Regina. It take FOREVER to make these little videos, but I will try to do many more :) Thank you for your feedback. It's always nice to see how they land and meet my audience :)

Hi , I loved this as you showed that it’s not easy to produce something that you feel happy with. …. that you need to find different ways such as leaving it and then coming back to look at it with with fresh eyes.

I love your work method and the way you describe just keep pushing it. Even though I am working in acrylics and inks and crayons for mark making your method is similar to mine. I learnt so much from this first video of yours and will subscribe and follow through on the others. Many thanks from Australia

You're so welcome Jen. Delighted to hear from you all the way over there in Australia where I dream of visiting one day. I've found that many of the techniques used in oil and cold wax can be used in oil and cold wax. I enjoy working in acrylics a lot too. Thank you for subscribing :)

Hi Andrea Thank you for your informative and inspiring videos which have given me a handle on how to work in this new to me medium. I was very taken with the idea of working on a number of things at once too. I feel I have learnt a lot and look forward to the challenges of putting it all into practice

Hi Andrea....i loved this demonstration, you are so able to describe how your process moves about....it is a very challenging thing to try and grasp what the original impetus is when we are drawn to a specific image....thanks so much, and hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I look forward to seeing more of your work in the new year! best wishes, Linda

    • @artistspace

Hi Linda, so glad you liked the demo. I think it's important to be able to articulate in some way, not necessarily in words, what inspires you. Which shapes, textures, colors, subject matter. Hope you have a wonderful end of the year.

Hi Andrea thanks for sharing your process, I think I’m allergic to acrylic ( I get itchy, teary eyes, irritation on my nose and also chest tightness) so I looked for another paint to use that’s how I found you, cold wax and oil , I really enjoy using it. Thanks for sharing your knowledge! Much appreciated.
