FYI, That first USB probably is video backups for a youtube channel. There is an elevator community an enthusiasts, and they make videos of elevators. Some are quite interesting, but I never watch them on a daily basis.

Those EXEs were from DOS (either 16bit 286 era or 32bit 386+ era). They won't run on a version of Windows past XP, so you'd need an emulator like DOSBox or VirtualBox to run them.
@@robertplayz9157 yeah 64 bit Windows isn't compatible anymore with those 16 bit executables, they do often still work on 32 bit Windows

You can buy a windows laptop for like $300 and a 1080p capture card for like what $100? A small investment for the safety of their main pc (viruses + usbkillers) and potentially their personal information.
Definitely staged. There is way to much consistency around having random memes/internet videos on the sticks instead of personal files or whatever you would actually use usb sticks for.

There is a community of people who deliberately create revealing content of themselves and challenge other users to find the content, usually on USB's. But since covid, it has become common to hide the content online since people couldn't go outside to find the hidden USB's. Either way the creator gives a clue to find the content, often it is very difficult to crack. Only the first to find the content wins and the creator subsequently becomes their slave through what is essentially consensual blackmail. The document you are reading is likely from someone who found a creators content and now outlined the rules that their slave must follow. Its basically a kink thing. Called timebomb challenge. Winners are often given permission to post some of their slaves content publicly to prove they found it. Beware, there are probably 30 dudes who create content for every woman that does.

The first USB with the elevator videos is neat. I’ve seen many videos similar to those, and there’s a little niche community of people who just go into lifts and ride them. I don’t know what the term for that community is called, but there are some videos out there showcasing some really cool lifts.
There really isn’t a name for it, but @dieselducy is the one who started the whole thing. The community of enthusiasts is bigger than you’d think.

Just an FYI, there are some USB sticks out there that can literally fry most PCs upon plugging them in. I would highly recommend using a throwaway PC for these videos.
USBs like that have to be intentionally designed to fry PCs and do usually not hold data. People would keep those on them because they're a tool not a drive. You'd be more likely to accidentally pick up a USB drive that has a trojan waiting for you to plug it in than a "PC Killer".

And this is how you get viruses, plug in random USB and clicking on exes. Dont destroy your usbs with a hammer. Just do a wipe with ones and zeros.If you just plug in random USB drive. I would gladly send you one i would love to watch you plug in.

Also normally you cant catch a virus/trojan if you dont actually click it so he is pretty safe in his machine as long as he is careful with the stuff he clicks though there are viruses that automatically gets executed though, iirc the one that took down an entire Iranian nuclear facility was done through a USB attack.

5:29 the readme was in german and they are probably 16-Bit apps meaning you can run them unless you have a 32-bit installation of Windows 10 and enable NTVDM i dont know if it got removed in later versions of Windows 10

Hey tranium, make sure to be careful inputting any usbs sent to you in the mail through your po box, many can include malicious software inside and it is a big security issue as they will have free range after that.
i was scared when he opened those random pdf's because those have had virus's before.
but some usb's can let out a bunch of electricity when plugged in and kill that port or the computer when plugged in
there is also a thing most commonly called a usb rubber ducky that acts like emulates a keyboard and can automatically type anything when plugged in so someone can go and download a virus really quickly or mess up your system really bad

I used to work in a building that had an elevator made by Schindler only in the UK we call them lifts. Always amused me that they were basically Schindler's Lift. Speven Stielberm must have been inspired by them.

Personally, I'd use a cheap old computer that's not connected to my network, and that wouldn't kill me if it'd breaks - there are usb sticks that can physically break your computer.
