    So, not really a video on rebuild, more of an infomercial on vapor blasting....

      @TheGoodoftheLand  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Not my intention. You are the third person who mentioned that the vapor honing sounds like a commercial. Video was getting long and I figured assembly was the same steps as disassembly so I left it out. My bad. The vapor cab is a great tool and it's cheap to build. Definitely excited about it every time I use it. Just sharing info, sorry it came across as an informal.

    Back in my younger years i worked as a mechanic for all my life. I was the one that rebuilt all the carbs. you just brought back many memories. The last 17 years was with ford dealership.

    Sounds good for its age and sitting for 10 years. I drove it around my property hauling dirt and gravel for 3 years before parking it. I am glad you are going to put it back in service for your projects.

    Okay, so now not only do I need a Mr. Cool, but also a vapor honing set-up! The carb looks/works great! And yep those bolts in the fuel pump are there for a reason! Fun video, Justin....

    Now, if you could just fit the rest of that old Ford in the vapor honing cabinet... That would be a neat trick! Nice job Justin!

    You can also paint the car red or give it racing strips. Both proven methods to add 50hp

    Would have enjoyed watching a 'carb restoration', when are you posting it? How did you get the gunk out of the jets and passages? Where did you get the kit from? How much was it and did you encounter any problems?
    Not a bad video of 'cleaning a cruddy old carb body with my homemade water hone'

    Crone valve covers and a Holly sticker on the core support under the hood was was like adding a hundred shot system back in the day. If you had stock exhaust manifolds, a Hooker headers Sticker would still net you 5 HP. Then you had to have Edelbrock and an MSD stickers to round out the basic set. Haaa! There’s always the ones who should have just kept it real and slapped a JC Whiney sticker on there n been done with it. Lol!

    Before someone sees this video and ruins an expensive carburetor, the below is from my experience and tips I have picked up over the years...
    Always mark the throttle plates. They are usually fitted with the sides beveled so they can close tightly without sticking. I was also taught to never, ever, sandblast the internals of a carburetor, wet or otherwise. My behind still smarts from the @55 chewing I got for doing that at a mechanics job several years ago.
    However, the carb it was done to here is not a good high dollar unit, so I can understand why it was done that way.
    It sure did look nice when it was finished!

    Back in the late 60s and into the 70s we made our cars and trucks faster by flipping the lis on the air cleaner and installing dual glass pack mufflers.

    F humidity. I love my 10% humidity pretty much year round in the South Plains part of Texas. You east Texas people take a shower just to dry off.

      I had to get a couple of vaporizers because the humidity inside my house dropped so low the old ship lap paneling started shrinking and making gaps at the edges.
