  • What's up guys!
This is a very special review, because it's guest starring my husband Max! He has been using Renegade hoof boots and Renegade Vipers for years, so I asked him to give us a little review and tutorial while we were on our last horse-camping trip. In this video, he discusses what he likes and doesn't like about the boots, and gives a quick tutorial on how he puts them on. Stay for the whole video to catch some footage from our horse camping trip at Castle Rocks State Park in Almo, Idaho.
If you're thinking about going barefoot, hoof boots are really important for making sure your horse's hooves are protected and taken care of when you ride on more demanding terrain.

Helpful review thanks. As a first time user I needed more info on the fitting of the boot to your particular horse as these are, the website I viewed in France states custom made and non refundable or returnable.

So glad it was helpful! Let us know if you have any specific questions. There is definitely a steep learning curve when you first start out with boots. Also, Max speaks French if that helps.

Nice review! The only thing I would like to know is how many miles you can ride with these boots before they wear out. Your husband said he is using the Vipers for 2 years now. Is this with the same boots, or did he replaced them in the meantime? I am specifically asking, because I am using a different brand of boots and they barely lasted a year (it is also because of the way my horse put down his feet) and I am looking for shoes which hopefully last a little bit longer. 😁

Same pair of boots! Wish we logged miles on them so I could tell u for sure how many, but they have held up well!! I do think some horses are harder on boots than others, so it might be finding what works best for your horse’s way of going.

All that being said, once set of boots for a year is still cheaper than keeping them shod!! 😁
