i wish i could play this in a school talent show or something 😭 im learning the piano part currently and my older sister is working on the violin part (she *just* learned violin haha), but sadly my school doesnt do talent shows and my parents wont let me back in band so i could do it for a solo or something :,(
If your school has some solo and ensemble competition kind of thing you might be able to play it there. I’m not sure about how your orchestra and band teachers are, but it might be worth trying to see if they’ll allow you to participate if it’s a thing at your school.

I just wanted to say that I had a lot of the same thoughts as you when I was in high school and early in my time at Brown, always wanting to share my music but having no outlet to do so, especially because it was of a non-standard genre. AVGE is a club ideated, founded, fought for, and run completely by students. Building from the ground up was never easy, but the drive of having the opportunity to finally perform my music to a willing audience and finding others to play my music with was always my biggest motivation factor, and probably is yours too. I know this is a long-winded response, but I just want to let you know that its never impossible to create these opportunities for yourself, and to encourage you to keep doing what you love doing. Its obvious the song is at a rest, but i guess most people wouldnt know that either. Unless they know proper concert etiquette, or have a musical ear/knowledge
theres many compositions that intentionally askew resolving to the root, as to create a sense of unease and incompletion, if that is what the composer intended. its a powerful technique, and considering how they both literally got up from their instruments, i understand why they would have assumed the song was over.
