      For royal icing you would need icing sugar...that is powdered sugar rather than granulated

      pewdie 3.14159265358 an easy trick is to powderise normal sugar by blending it with a blender or something of the sort

    OMG! This worked perfectly for me! I like its ability to stand in a heat prone area . However is there any thing I can do in other to get a much pleasant scent. Don't like that raw egg scent. Tastes great though

      You can add a tiny bit of vanilla or lemon to flavour it ;) Not much though as it acts like water and changes the consistency. Suzi x

    Guys let me clarify this!!! Icing sugar is powdered sugar/confectioner sugar. They call powdered sugar icing sugar in England and Canada. So pretty witty cakes eiether lives in Canada or England or used to live in one of them

    • @SuziBelmont
      @SuziBelmont  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Aimee168. Yes that is right. Icing sugar is the same as confectioners sugar (powdered sugar). Pretty Witty Cakes is an online school based in Bath, UK. We have members in 102 different countries in the online school but the tutors (over 60 tutors) present according to what they use in their country. We are of course always happy to help with any questions people have. Hope that helps (our guest tutors Rachel who presents this tutorial is from London, UK and has taught with us for 7 years now :). Suzi xx

      No this is different to fondant. You can cover a cake in it but it is not the same as fondant and it dries hard - it is used in royal wedding cakes.

      Thats ok - all questions welcome :) Yes icing sugar is powdered sugar (not granulated). Looks a bit like a soft flour. You may want to sign up for a free account on our site www.prettywittycakes.co.uk as we have lots of helpful tutorials on there for free members then more feature length ones for paying members :)

    what the measure of the powder icing mam ?

    • @SuziBelmont
      @SuziBelmont  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Jean. It depends how thick you want it. If too runny add more powder, if too thick, add more water :) (from Suzi)

    What can we use insted of egg white to make the icing

    • @SuziBelmont
      @SuziBelmont  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In this recipe nothing as the egg white is key but there are other ways to make royal icing using meringue powder and so on. Take a look at www.prettywittyacademy.com as that is where we have a full school x

    Can we do cake piping decorating with this egg white cream

    • @SuziBelmont
      @SuziBelmont  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yes. It is famous for piping. You can make incredible things and traditionally used for piping by the British royal family in wedding cakes. There are many piping tutorials for royal icing on the Pretty Witty website. For example these:www.prettywittycakes.co.uk/projects/intermediate-royal-icing-piping

    what volume of sugar u used? 500g is kinda confusing I apologize

    • @SuziBelmont
      @SuziBelmont  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it is icing sugar (confectioners sugar in the usa). You might find these tables useful that I made to stick on the fridge: www.prettywittycakes.co.uk/weight-conversion-chart
      and this more pretty one www.prettywittycakes.co.uk/blog/conversion-charts
      500 grams is about 2.5 US cups if that helps?
