THIS is the aesthetic Disney is sorely missing these days… the beauty and complexity of hand-drawn animation mixed with elegant music is so unbelievably satisfying, and leaves you with a feeling of nostalgia and happiness. I miss when animation was an art, an art that took itself seriously as a medium for ALL ages… not just children 5 years or younger.
@@nickl2854 hardly these days. Almost everything is animated as if it were made for the smallest of children with the lowest of attention spans. Compare movies like Disney’s the Hunchback of Notre Dame, Treasure Planet, Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, etc. to more modern movies like: Turning Red, The Lego Movie, Trolls, Ralph Breaks the Internet, or Turbo. Animated movies back then used to not be afraid to cover VERY dark topics because they knew it wouldn’t only be children watching. They also knew their movies would age better as the children who did see it would grow up to understand it better. Modern movies cover some mature themes, but they stunt themselves with loud colors, endless humor, and extremely childish lead characters. Don’t even get me started on animated series and how far they’ve fallen. We do have some diamonds in the rough like Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, and Sergio Pablo’s Klaus. I just wish more directors and artists in the industry would drop the notion that “animation is purely for children”.
@@nickl2854 I’m not exactly stuck in the past. That’s a throwaway counter argument, because my problem is QUALITY OVER QUANTITY. That’s why I’m glad GDT is advocating for animation to be taken seriously in Hollywood!
The thing that makes difference between old Disney and new projects is that they used music not only for songs, but to portray every move of the character, the way they feel, the way they walk, especially trumpets like in "Peter and Wolf". You can probably recognise crocodile with clocks or forest animals having fun and living their life without even seeing them on screen. The music now is beautiful as well, but these oldies... they're something really special
This makes me so happy, I absolutely adore old Disney movies and scores. This brings so much comfort, contentment, and peace to my day! Thank you so much for sharing this!
Finally I've found this collection! I've been trying to find old Disney music that actually plays in the room you're in, and NOT the room beside you or whatever lol. I want to listen to it in all its glory.
Just like every other comment here, I am so ecstatic about this video. You’re the only person on TH-cam who seems to understand that some of us want the nostalgia of instrumental Disney music, but sometimes we don’t also want Disney _songs._ Just the scores. I especially love how you have screenshots of the movie of the current score playing; it’s an extra nostalgia hit! 😄
There used to be kids books which had casette included, when you played it it said "When you hear this sound turn the page". So I couldn't read and I just watched the pictures and the casette read the story for me... This music reminds my childhood so much... I'm 24 but my mother usually showed me older cartoons ⚘️
Fun fact: the female voice for many of those read-a-long Disney books with the audio tapes was Robie Lester, who played the singing voices of Dutchess from The AristoCats and Bianca from The Rescuers. She also voiced Jessica in Rankin/Bass’ Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town
I’m going to leave this comment here, so whenever someone likes it, I know that the person who liked the comment is happy, proud, and if in hard times, they know that they are going to make it out of the rough times! I know that because I did that. I’m having a hard time right now but I’m getting out of it. For the people who don’t believe, please believe. Because if you don’t, you're never going to get away from it, and that’s what makes you more down. Remember that you are loved, even if you don’t see it, and you are priceless. And people are proud of you!! Have a good day or night to all, stay happy!
Disney 2D is always something that stays in my mind, the images are very poetic, I don't mean Disney isn't beautiful now but in my childhood memories, Disney 2D is still great.
I am 14..But I am not ashamed to say that I am madly in love with old disney 2D animation films and musics..It's just a different dilemma...I feel so peaceful too
Not me holding back tears in the library while studying when any of the 101 Dalmatians songs started. My little brother and I used to watch it on cassette all the time growing up. Now I feel nostalgic and sad...
Disney will never reclaim the genuine magic of the old animations with the beautiful classical and choral music. I was lucky enough to be born in the 70s when the old animations were still being released in the cinemas for re-runs. I am now 51 and so much of this music just brings tears to my eyes and I can't explain why. It just evokes a seemingly more innocent world for children and the slower, less frantic pace of life. I obsessed about Bambi as a child and the end part at 1:00:00 still reduces me to a snivelling mess, when Bambi takes over from his father, the old King. "Feed the birds" from Mary Poppins, When you wish upon a Star, Once Upon a Dream, the second star on the right, and Ave Maria from Fantasia are just absolutely beautiful, as is I bring you a song from Bambi. Modern Disney animatios are just unwatchable. A noisy, frantic pace, garbled too-fast dialogue, and mostly noisy, frantic music. Compare the modern animations with the scene where Thumper first meets Bambi after he's born....slow dialogue that children can easily follow, not the frantic gabbling of todays animations. I swear most young kids will never follow even half the story nowadays. Disney have ruined Star Wars, ruined Marvel, and I highly doubt they will ever entertain the thought of an animated movie that has this sort of classical choral soundtrack ever again.
This is how people my age learned classical music as kids. Between Disney and Bugs Bunny we left childhood with a very well rounded appreciation for all styles of music.
I've been listening to this music and waves for many nights to help me rest. I struggle to fall asleep because of pain. I read a few comments for the first time tonight and my heart was warmed within me. To those who come after me and read my comment, allow yourself to be encouraged by the words of others here. Let your heart, mind, and body be put at ease, at lest for the night. You are not really alone.
I love these too! It frustrates me that so many film critics and film essay channels here on TH-cam trash these three especially. Like _yes,_ we understand that their stories are much simpler than many other movies, and are more about the visual beauty and music. But that's why we LIKE THEM, it's not a mark against them!
ive been having onset tinnitus and it’s been causing me to have a lot of anxiety. I just wanted SOMETHING that reminded me of my childhood while masking the ringing that wasn’t brown noise or rain noises. this throws me back to when I was a kid, perfect instrumental and actual Disney scores. Thank you for this beautiful collection. I am brought back to an innocent time. It just warms my heart. It also makes all the everyday life issues just go . There is nothing like old school Disney. 25:59
This is what I wish was on the soundtracks, when I go back to listen to the old movies this is the type of score I want to hear not just the songs that have been sung. Thank you for making this, I listen to this all the time but especially when doing laundry, it makes the mundane seem special.
im glad i grew up watching dvds of movies with these types of disney movies and mary poppins and sound of music etc even though im 15 years old now all thanks to my grandma that made me watch those in the basement when i was very young. i lived in a quaint house that my greatgreatgrandparents owned so its sort of really old and the basement was creepy but it was pretty chill to be all alone there and watch old movies on a small dvd player
This is pure magic being able to hear the compositions of my early childhood but not having to watch the movies and feel the sadness of them that inevitably comes as the movie builds. Thank you for this mixtape. Kudos for the warmth of the cassette tape
i've studied for so many exams with this playlist on and i've pasted every one of them succesfully. can't say how much i appreciate these songs and the amount of concentration they give me😍🥰
48:13 MAN when that one kicked in I almost started crying! It was weird because I didn't immeidately recognise it but I just remembered this feeling of sadness I always got when I heard it. Then I realised where it was from and it was like a punch in the gut lol
@@magicallykairi beat me to it!😂 I love Mary Poppins so much, when my brothers and I were little, apparently we used to jump on and off the sofas like they were chimneys during step in time!
Все эти мелодии обладают одной и той же атмосферой, передавая эмоции и чувства персонажей. Они способны рассказать о том что происходит, даже если не смотреть в экран. Все эти мультфильмы старше меня в несколько раз, но даже я по ним скучаю...
I'm listening to this music, while studying for my last exam as a veterinarian student. It's about rabbit's diseases... And I am talking to my dog... Thank you Disney for feeding my love for animals with those wonderfull movies, that contributed to me arriving here today!
I usually use instrumetal playlists to concentrate better while I read/study. But with this one I was also smiling every time, remembering a lot of tunes from my childhood!! Thank you for your dedication on these "tapes", I am sure they take time to do (and fights against copyright things)!!!
Pure nostalgic gold. Amazing job with this. The soft noise of the cassette, the Disney film music. It's beautiful and I so hope you are able to post even more!
Why have I not found this before? I listen to Disney music all the time. This is great! I love, love, love it! Like others have said, it is perfect for doing work along with.....no words and it is the real instrumental part from the movie. Thank you for making this mixtape.
The comments below have simply said it all! As I'm studying, drawing or working this will surely let me bask in the joyful feeling of music and nostalgia! As a Disney kid who enjoyed the classics over anything else, I feel like these songs have quenched my longing for the past (I'm not sure if I make sense).
Thank you for this! It's so so great and hitting me in all the nostalgic feels! I love listening to this while I work. Brings me back to simpler times.
this video has been helping me with studying. Sometimes I get lost in studying and stress and tiredness but every time the song changes my brain goes "hold on, I know this song", letting me have a small break and I smile. This makes me so happy. To anyone who is studying for anything- I wish you the best of luck! Study in a way you'll remember! Don't forget to take breaks and take care of yourself! And this is for everyone, please remember to eat something, drink a little bit of water, and try to get some rest. You deserve it! Your mind is so powerful and strong but if you don't take care of your body, you won't do as well. Just try! I believe in you! You were made to do some great things- just have patience, my dear. Everything will work out in a way where you can look back and learn from it and help others! Stay strong and I'm sending love your way 💖💖💖
I'm sitting on my patio overlooking downtown of the small town listening to this. My wife is able to figure out every movie the song was from! She says it's a problem, but I don't think so.
This is wonderful - I love it! And thank you so much for putting the beautiful pictures of the old Disney animated movies in with the music! Nothing can compare with the beauty of this old artwork!!
I miss this type of music in old Disney movies. Snow white has such a lovely classical musical background that calms my children and makes them smile. I wish Disney would sell cds with the whole movies but only the instrumental (and any chorus singing). I have found there a parts of musical scores in movies, like joining scenes, like are beautiful but that are never on any cds that say ‘instrumental’ sadly.
absolutely love this!! I've been looking for Disney background music that wasn't just instrumentals of Disney songs but more of the background music we see in old disney movies !
We were so spoiled with music and didn’t even know it at that age 😋 Now I can appreciate it and feel all the same cozy warm bubbly feelings from childhood, eating some snacks, with nowhere to be but laying on a blanket on the floor with whatever stuffed animal I loved at the moment ❤️
this put concentrated nostalgia straight into my veins omg. thank u for not just putting instrumental versions of songs with words, you actually captured the movies vibes perfectly while still keeping it versatile enough that I didn't get distracted from my homework. Big thanks!!
This is the best playlist I’ve ever heard. Everything is so well put together, you can easily tell which movie or emotion you’re listening to!! I’ve been playing this for three days now. Thank you for making my uni projects much easier!! 🍀🍄✨
The sound of the cassette tape being put in and the 'play' button being pressed down (hard lol) took me straight back to childhood! Thank you, love this ...💞

Disney songs are great... but Disney MUSIC is where it's at. Thank for you putting this together!
80 and i rember way back,when disney WAS MAGICAL.🕊🇺🇲💕
Thank you for this beautiful collection. I am brought back to an innocent time. It just warms my heart. It also makes all the everyday life issues just go . There is nothing like old school Disney. 25:59
That’s it, I’m running away to England and buying a fairy cottage out in the woods.
This is what I wish was on the soundtracks, when I go back to listen to the old movies this is the type of score I want to hear not just the songs that have been sung. Thank you for making this, I listen to this all the time but especially when doing laundry, it makes the mundane seem special.
This gives me a strange feeling a very happy yet sad one.
Nostalgic
im glad i grew up watching dvds of movies with these types of disney movies and mary poppins and sound of music etc even though im 15 years old now
all thanks to my grandma that made me watch those in the basement when i was very young. i lived in a quaint house that my greatgreatgrandparents owned so its sort of really old and the basement was creepy but it was pretty chill to be all alone there and watch old movies on a small dvd player
This made me smile since the beginning. Thank you!
This is pure magic being able to hear the compositions of my early childhood but not having to watch the movies and feel the sadness of them that inevitably comes as the movie builds. Thank you for this mixtape. Kudos for the warmth of the cassette tape
The perfect music for when I'm doing things around the house! Makes me feel like I stepped into a classic disney movie. Thank you!😊
i've studied for so many exams with this playlist on and i've pasted every one of them succesfully. can't say how much i appreciate these songs and the amount of concentration they give me😍🥰
Gorgeous! And I love the slight fuzz of the cassette tape, thank you so much 😍
This music drowns out all my troubles dealing with problems i have that has been troubling me
48:13 MAN when that one kicked in I almost started crying! It was weird because I didn't immeidately recognise it but I just remembered this feeling of sadness I always got when I heard it. Then I realised where it was from and it was like a punch in the gut lol
PLEASE TELL ME ITS NAME
I know the name is hidden in my brain I just can’t seem to recall…
Omg I am glad I am not the only one. This is one of my favorites. It’s called “Mr. Banks is Discharged “ and is from Mary Poppins!!
@@magicallykairi beat me to it!😂 I love Mary Poppins so much, when my brothers and I were little, apparently we used to jump on and off the sofas like they were chimneys during step in time!
First time listening and i almost cried at the first Jungle Book song at about 7 minutes
I didn't expect Feed The Birds to hit me so very hard in the feels this morning. Golden days of Disney orchestral scores. Thanks for this post!! xx
Все эти мелодии обладают одной и той же атмосферой, передавая эмоции и чувства персонажей. Они способны рассказать о том что происходит, даже если не смотреть в экран. Все эти мультфильмы старше меня в несколько раз, но даже я по ним скучаю...
I can't be the only one using this as a fule to concentrate on writing stories,,,right??
I'm listening to this music, while studying for my last exam as a veterinarian student. It's about rabbit's diseases... And I am talking to my dog... Thank you Disney for feeding my love for animals with those wonderfull movies, that contributed to me arriving here today!
wow, i'm instantly transported to another time .... much more peaceful than this crazy world. Now I'm nostalgic for a time where I didn't exist yet.
Been a fan of Disney for age and this is the 1st time I have found this kind of thing : D Thank you so much! Bring back my childhood and memories
I usually use instrumetal playlists to concentrate better while I read/study. But with this one I was also smiling every time, remembering a lot of tunes from my childhood!!
Thank you for your dedication on these "tapes", I am sure they take time to do (and fights against copyright things)!!!
playing this in the sensory friendly section of an elementary school festival
I'm getting chills listening to this. The build up of the strings is emotional. 46:33
The background music of classic Disney movies is so underrated! Disney would surely not have been the same without it!
The kids priorly could know good music in their entertainment movies. So delightful the violin @35:54 - sad and sweet, kinda like Heifetz playing.
My entire childhood in 90 minutes ! ❤
The comments below have simply said it all! As I'm studying, drawing or working this will surely let me bask in the joyful feeling of music and nostalgia! As a Disney kid who enjoyed the classics over anything else, I feel like these songs have quenched my longing for the past (I'm not sure if I make sense).
disney is life. disney is breath. disney is fuel.
Stay strong and I'm sending love your way
💖💖💖
I'm sitting on my patio overlooking downtown of the small town listening to this. My wife is able to figure out every movie the song was from! She says it's a problem, but I don't think so.
This is wonderful - I love it! And thank you so much for putting the beautiful pictures of the old Disney animated movies in with the music! Nothing can compare with the beauty of this old artwork!!
46:33 sounds like "feed the birds" (?) from Mary Poppins. I've watched it a dozen times as a kid so I immediately recognized it.
Yes, Ive been trying to find this version of the tune everywhere
Used this to study & passed my test with a 28/30, thank you so much this playlist is wonderful
The vibes I'd like to give off ✨😌!! Vintage , classy and kind of magical , wonderful playlist!!
whoever made this is an absolute genius!
We were so spoiled with music and didn’t even know it at that age 😋 Now I can appreciate it and feel all the same cozy warm bubbly feelings from childhood, eating some snacks, with nowhere to be but laying on a blanket on the floor with whatever stuffed animal I loved at the moment ❤️
this made me cry happy tears
This is heavenly, thank you for this gift
I can't stop smiling I wished for a playlist like this so long!
I could listen to "A Beautiful Spring Day" all day long.
Disney absolutely needs to go back to this music, I miss 2D movies fr 😔
Great playlist tho!! ❤
this put concentrated nostalgia straight into my veins omg. thank u for not just putting instrumental versions of songs with words, you actually captured the movies vibes perfectly while still keeping it versatile enough that I didn't get distracted from my homework. Big thanks!!
Doing homework while listening to disney music is the best👸🏻✌🏻👌🏻
I can't believe I'm only now listening to this, I am obsessed I have been looking for something like this forever, thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
This is truly just what I needed today, THANK YOU!
This is the best playlist I’ve ever heard. Everything is so well put together, you can easily tell which movie or emotion you’re listening to!! I’ve been playing this for three days now. Thank you for making my uni projects much easier!! 🍀🍄✨
Oooo i love a Real Disney ♥️♥️♥️✨✨✨✨✨
The sound of the cassette tape being put in and the 'play' button being pressed down (hard lol) took me straight back to childhood! Thank you, love this ...💞
Such nostalgia!! I had so many of the old Disney records with the little storybooks that you'd read along :)
Thank you for this. Disney instrumental music got me interested in listening to soundtracks in the first place.
