Been Metal Detecting for 30+ years absolutely love it, had so many exciting and fascinating finds over the years and its nice to watch someone starting from scratch all the very best with it
Thanks Jeff :) I really am a complete newbie, so I'm sure the first few videos will be very humorous lol Hopefully I'll get the hang of it soon and be finding interesting things. 30+ years! Wow! I bet you could tell some stories.
I knew you would be tempted to do some metal detecting, you are now a detectorist. I have had two Garrett detectors and they are great. Get some permissions and get out there and put the coil to the soil. Your will get a lot of trash, but nothing beats your first coin even if it is modern. (Oh and if you can watch the 'Detectorists' series.) Welcome to metal detecting.
Thanks Penny :) YEs, I have been tempted lol We just got the Detectorist set and binge watched the lot lol I'm looking forward to being able to put out some detecting adventures :D
Very helpful and charmingly demonstrated. Nice to think how that's made in a little factory in US & shipped all the way to Wales for you to enjoy. I don't know if on your interview with Aquachigger your COMMENTS were enabled, but I was very impressed - it was an excellent piece and I learnt even moar about Beau! I'm impressed by the hefty BOOK you received with that machine, as well as the cap - as too often these days you buy expensive equipment & you have a booklet in 20-languages which barely makes sense & no real idea how the thing is supposed to work. Will be interested to see how you get along with it & develop you MD skills. Thanks for sharing. 🐾👍😉🥂
Thanks Small Wonda! Yes, it is amazing to think how far it has travelled already! It's going on another journey today, as my birthday trip has been planned with metal detecting in mind :D Shame about the storm that starts today, but I'll see how much I can get done. Luckily, it's waterproof! The book is really nice with good pics. I've bought things that want you to download the instruction book. I've got a lot to learn, but hopefully will have plenty of things to show soon :D
@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons Have a lovely Birthday, then - I am interested to see how you get along with it, as I'm writing a story & a character in it uses a detector of the first time (a Deus, rather than the AT MAX) & I'm hoping it IS possible to find things as a beginner! (otherwise it's a bit far-fetched!!) Have a lovely Adventure. Have you seen the video from Garret of them making the detectors? Makes me miss the US where I lived for some years.. Let's find TREASURE!!
Not sure how it all works Jonathan, but I assume the metal leg is for ease of use, and as long as the power and control unit is coupled to the head scanner, it would still function. But as i say that's only a guess. All the best and thanks for watching 🙂😎🐼

@@LetsgowithTheJohnsons Yeah I have the garrett euro ace and an old lonestar, haven't been out for a couple of years and miss it so much!!
I've never heard of the Lonestar. Great name! Sounds like the sort of thing John Wayne would have used lol
