I'm surprised to see that the Fitbit won't send notifications for calls/texts when the phone is on silent. I have a Versa 2 with an iPhone and I am able to get my calls/texts on silent mode. Fitbit has a lot of settings to customize which notifications your watch receives and under which circumstances. The watch also has a "Do not disturb" mode that disables notifications. I'm fairly confident that Fitbit is able to receive notifications from calls/texts while the phone is in silent because it would be a significant regression if this is no longer a feature.

You can pick up the phone call from the watch, but you cannot talk on the watch (like the Watch Active 2). If you have Bluetooth earpiece connected to the phone, if you accept the call, then the phone will pick up the call and you can chat via Bluetooth earpiece. Hopefully this makes sense (get it? nm, wrong gadget)... I'm planning to do a separate video with the different chat apps, etc.
So I just purchased a Versa 3...I have set it up and synched it with my phone. I am "alerted" that I have a new message, but cannot see the message on my fitbit. I have allowed permissions....I just can't see the messages.....can someone please help?

The Versa 3/Sense is really becoming less attractive... all these little quirks. Every other smartwatch allows you to have your phone on mute but watch on loud. They better add phone call on speaker before end of year as well as Google Assistant. (And for Europe Google pay). Also not happy SPO2 is stuck on a single watch face. 🤦♀️ Only good thing so far is built in GPS and ECG available on launch.
Im on the fence about this watch. Mostly because of the fact you need to pick up your phone when you answer a call. If there is going to be a possible update for this inconvenience then i might get it Should I just get it and hope for an update or just keep searching for another watch?

@@dimpzperz9169 I actually figured this out! If you have android, make sure you are using android 8.0 software or higher (The most recent version is android 10.0). After that, you should be able to receive calls on your watch after you have set that option up within the fitbit app. After that is completed, if you are trying to text from your watch, you have to go to that feature in the fitbit app and choose which texting app you would wish to use. Most phones will use the default text message option but if you do not have a popular phone (Like me), you will need to download an app called MySMS and make that app your default texting app within your phone and then go into the fitbit app to chose MySMS as your texting app! It works perfectly fine for me and I'm allowed to use both texting and calling all through my watch!
Make sure your account is set up! Go to the app, choose Versa 3, scroll down to notifications, then make sure you have the items selected that you want to come to your watch.

I've taken this watch to the beach. Lol I go to the beach every week so all of the watches reviewed has endured salt water... just rinse it off after. 🤙🏽
I can't verify, I think I had the AOD on the entire time I was using the review unit, but notifications should work independently of AOD, so I would say yes - it probably does.

There is an option in the Fitbit app to enable notifications when your phone is in silent mode.
My phone is on silent 100% of the time, and I still get messages and phone calls on my Versa 2. Why would they take this away for the Versa 3?

I believe you need to be napping for about 40/45 minutes for it to register.
You can talk on it, not just answer. Also you can delete some of the apps through the app

Unfortunately, Fitbit rolls out new products with many bugs. But in my experience they correct these relatively quickly. So more enhancements to come.

Currently no, supposedly its coming with an update, but I haven't seen anything official from Fitbit.
When i asked Fitbit, they said Versa 3 will support speakerphone function since the had speaker, guess they will update it in the future.

Please make sure your Fitbit gets sync every 10 mins to check you need to check in Fitbit app. If it's not getting sync try your network

There is a setting in the app that you can get the notification when your phone is on vibrate. The reviewer didn't mention that.

There's a new option to turn on notifications even when your phone is on silent. You just have to turn it on in the app fitbit settings. 🤙🏽

We did a quick GPS with our Steps count video, it takes over a minute and it'll show up on your Fitbit App.
