Hey, Scott. I see a lot of people are wanting Davie504 on here, and I think he's an awesome bassist with a great personality, but he doesn't seem like the type to teach. I'd really like to see Tommy Lee Depp on here. His bass covers of songs are so great to listen to and learn, and he's got a really mellow sound in his covers. He's got really good technique that I've been dying to master too. Tommy also gets that theatric aspect to his videos, since he films his covers out in a field. I would really love to learn from him. I would really like to win this bass, since my family us constantly on road trips and camping trips, and while there's always a guitarist present and a keyboardist with a mini keyboard and a percussionist with a cajon or shaker, there's never a bassist around, and it would be great to be able to jam on the move with my family and my band of family friends.
After a 20+year career playing (heavy!) P-basses exclusively, due to a back injury I've only just recently become interested in short-scale basses. Now played out of necessity... I never knew what I was missing! My "wish list": 1. Geddy Lee 2. Flea 3. Pino Palladino Thank you for the great lessons & entertaining vids! U Rock! 👍🏻 -CC
I know this is a little unconventional, but I'd really like to see Rob Scallon on here. As a guitarist, I think he'd be really helpful for guitarists like me to learn bass using techniques that guitarists use or to learn how to play bass without getting guitar skills mixed up in bass playing. He's a great musician and is very well rounded, so I think he'd be great for teaching a variety of things associated with playing bass, like some theory involved as well.
Vulfpeck's Joe Dart. I was gonna say Michael League, who would in no way, shape, or form be a BAD addition to the team (seriously, try to hire this guy lmao), but I have to go with Dart. Firstly, i've never before heard a more percussive bassist. I swear this guy's dead note to pitched note ratio is like 60:1, and it's amazing. Even whe he does play, his tone is that of either a whisper or a thick raindrop smacking a puddle, and he yet still maintains the full, tight tone we'd expect from a jazz bass. Joe's quick, precise, and minimalistic; easily a one-of-a-kind bassist, indispensable as a mentor. Check out the songs Back Pocket and My First Car for great examples.
I know it's likely impossible, but John Deacon. He's my bass hero, and the person I based a lot of my style on. I bet a lot of others would say the same.
Second that! For my money, John Deacon is the most underrated player in all of rock! Pretty easy to get overlooked when your bandmates are Brian May, Roger Taylor and the one and only Freddie Mercury :P
As many others have said, Davie504 would be a great addition to your channel/website. He has a really fun, quirky personality, and creates a good environment for bass playing. (Not to mention he is an awesome bassist!)
Outstanding bass, what a great addition to any bass players collection... So many times I wish someone would come out with a bass like this... Overhead bass... Simply Amazing, bravo Journey Instruments...
Hey Scott, I'm a 16 year old musician and I'd love to win this bass. I'd really love to see Kevin Parker teach some bass. Those Tame Impala basslines are godly, especially The Less I Know The Better.
I know this seems a bit out of reach, but inviting Christian McBride to teach a lesson would be a great decision, think of how much knowledge he could give! My second choice, since he is at least on the same continent right now, would probably be Davie504, because I know he has the greatest chance of getting the opportunity. I picked up bass after seeing so many awesome metal bassists, Les and Ryan Martinie for example, and seeing how much they contributed to songs. I played metal for awhile until I joined my school jazz band and kind of just dived headfirst into the genre. I learned of Victor Wooten, Christian, and Jimmy Haslip during the process. I really enjoy playing funk and jazz fusion and have a huge interest in the Yellowjackets. If I were to win this bass, I would love to take it on outings. A few friends bring instruments to our boy scout outings on a lot of trips. Seeing how compact and easy this is to store, I believe it would help make our troop band feel more balanced. I also really really like that heavy low tone it has, sounds so powerful for such a small bass.
Carol Kaye while this is still possible! If she isn't available I settle for one of these three: Jerry Scheff Julian Crampton Justin chancellor Three J's....
your roster of employees is incredible now you just need to clone yourself so you can travel and be with your kids at the same time. that bass is stellar. would love to win it.
I think Adam Neely would be a perfect addition to your faculty members as he knows so much about music theory and how to bring it to players who are nor educated in a way like this. That would help out many players in my opinion and hes also a very kind and nice human who makes you feel comfortable trying new things.
So many people Davie, Adam Neely, Constantine , and so many more. I love it when you get known artists so obviously people like Geddy Lee, Larry Graham, Freddie Washington, etc... Awesome Vids and keep up the lessons!
Hey there, Scott! I think that, despite it being unrealistic, someone like Robert Trujillo would be a great addition to the academy. He is a very skilled bass player, and surprisingly versatile. He could teach a lot about metal bass of course, and I think his right hand technique quite impressive, and obviously it is very fast.
I know this is really crazy but Les Claypool could bring a lot to the table in terms of alternative bass playing. But hey he's one of my favorites so...
@@pxofpxof7782 congratulations. you are the piss lord of shit mountain. all of the village people from far and wide come to feast on the explosive diarrhea that spews out of your mouth with the force of 1000 supernovae.

I did all the instructions and I would like to see Davie504, Adam Neely or Michael League playing. That's an awesome bass BTW. I would really love this bass, so I can use it for the bands at my school and for me to practice.
First Thank you for sharing your knowledge, now for the instructor. I admire the way that Vector Wooten plays the bass, he is a man who has put in his time of learning to play.
Heya Scott. I'm a 16 year old A level music student. And I'd really love to win this bass instead of having to resort to using the school one or my teachers during my lessons. I reckon flea would be one of the best bassists to get as a teacher at scotts bass lessons! As he is one of the most astonishing bassists. Not to mention one of my biggest inspirations.
I'd like to see Victor Wooten on the team haha crossing my fingers to get my first acoustic bass and second bass guitar :))) love you Scott and thank you for inspiring me to practice everyday keep doing your thing
I love my Fender bg 29 acoustic and it's a little 30 inch scale bass, I practiced opn it at home so much that now my electric neck feels huge. The good news is that you can get much better with fingerstyle if you just practice on acoustic, slapping is rough but it can be done.
Adam neely for sure. Pretty sure he had a course before, but definely would be great to see him give lessons on a regular basis. Very original style and plays in a genre that is really explored by most bass players.
I think Fluff would be a brilliant add on to your chanel. He is so accurate with his music theory claims and he interacts with his fans. Not only that, he knows what people want, he also knows what he is doing with all of his gear. He is simply a great musician. I also think Scott would pull of a teal. Even though the color makes me nauseous.
Catfight43770 Oh, I totally dig Claypool's style of playing, I've picked up quite a lot from the guy myself, however I see him as a very self-taught guy, not much of a teacher. Really can't picture him doing an academy course :)
Scott I'd love to see Abraham Laboriel as a faculty member. This man is on another Universe of bassdom. There are many greats but the greats when asked who's is it they admire, Abraham Laboriel is the name heard over and over again. He is as good as it gets. I hope to see him as a faculty on your channel. Fingers crossed on being fortunate enough to be blessed with such a fine travel bass, Godspeed.
i love this bass, my mom loves anything purple... and so i do want to have this awesome bass... i can use inside our church and outside during our household meetings... God bless!
Brian Ritchie (violent Femmes) or Klaus Flouride(Dead Kennedys). I think either of these players could bring some interesting points of view. They also each have cool distinct sounds.
Adam Neely - he's unbelievably smart and a great player. Federico Malaman is a machine and so is Hadrien Feraud, it'd be cool to see them do some lessons here
Hi. I'm a sixty three year old bass player whose favorite thing is jamming with friends on my patio and at local-ish open mic coffee house settings. I would love to see instruction by Stanley Clarke. He is such an inspiration, as are you. Thanks.
It'd be cool to see the legend Les Claypool or the almighty Victor Wooten teaching. Also, i love the purple on the bass, it'd be awesome for a BB King/ Russel Jackson sound too.
I would love to see Paz Lenchantin at Scott's Bass Lessons. She is inspiring to all female bassists. She started learning music at a very young age with the Piano, then the violin, then she self-taught herself the guitar and bass. Now she's rocking it with the Pixies! I fell in love with her when she was in Perfect Circle with the Mer de Noms album. Purple is amazing! You might not be able to get away with it, but I can! I'm sure Paz could too!
Davie504 would make an incredible bass teacher - He has an incredible ear and a load of experience with a lot of different techniques and styles. Only issue is, he's not the best with English, but he's competent enough to be a pretty damn cool teacher. So would Rob Scallon, although he plays bass less now, he does a lot of really impressive rhythm slap and has an editing style that befits teaching videos. Clipper Anderson is also an incredible bassist, although he mostly does upright. Also, just to swing this my way - Purple is my favorite color :)
I would love to see Adam Neely as a teacher. A few years ago he made some bass tutorial videos, and I think he would make a great teacher for bass and music theory, especially jazz
I've seen some youtube videos showing him doing some teaching. I'm willing to bet that he really doesn't have the spare time for this. But I could be wrong.
Joston Powell that doesn’t help because it doesn’t let ya actually buy it from there... but if you go to davie504s video on this bass and find my comment somebody linked the buyers website on a reply of the comment..

Hey Scott I would love to see Michael League of snarky puppy teach at the bass Academy. He has a really great bass sound. Been watching you for years. - your fan, Johnathan Garcia
I would like to see Tyler Larson from Music is Win as a bass teacher. He is part of the reason I want to learn bass and I hope I can win this cause my birthday is coming up later this month. Also thanks for all the great content it is really fun to watch and I really appreciate the effort you put in to teach people.
I'm thinking Victor Wooten would a great addition or his brother Regi Wooten. If he can make victor that great, I'd love to see how great we'd all be!!! Plus my SBL strap needs a new bass 2 hold. :p
I wonder what it would sound like with nylon strings like the Kala Ubass? Thanks, Scott, for letting one of us win this travel bass. I love the look! I would love to see some Damian Erskine classes. Thanks again!!!! ROCK ON!!!!
Hi Scott :) I'm a music producer, the bass is my 3rd instrument. I master the piano and drums .. but I fell in love with the bass as well so I'm at a beginner level right now, I'm teaching myself as much as I can using my knowledge of the piano , of course I follow almost everything you give out to the world I thank you and I ADMIRE you for this ;) This travel bass is amazing :P if I think about it, I could carry a bass like this with me ... anywhere :) helping me learn better. Okay ... I would like to see Wojtek Pilichowski ... I think he is an amazing bass player :)
Squarepusher (Tom Jenkinson) technically ingenious, both as a bassist but also as an electronic music producer, he brought virtuoso bass playing to electronic music like no other. He must have a really unique insight into writing, as many people are nowadays, at home solo with a programmed or sampled electronic rhythm section and bringing a human feel into a genre often overlooked for its musicianship. Also that guys knowledge of effects and pushing the sound of a bass guitar to its sonic limits would be second to none.
Fast Forward to 4:00 to skip the fluff and see the bass.
Fluff? Where?
Thank you!
Thanks pal, most of his vids are waffle
I like listening to his fluff tho.

Davie504 used this model bass for the play Africa in Africa challenge!
I sort of get the impression Davie504 doesn't want to teach, he just wants to show his slapping off to a non-bass playing public

Hi Scott :) I'm a music producer, the bass is my 3rd instrument. I master the piano and drums .. but I fell in love with the bass as well so I'm at a beginner level right now, I'm teaching myself as much as I can using my knowledge of the piano , of course I follow almost everything you give out to the world I thank you and I ADMIRE you for this ;)
This travel bass is amazing :P if I think about it, I could carry a bass like this with me ... anywhere :) helping me learn better.
Okay ... I would like to see Wojtek Pilichowski ... I think he is an amazing bass player :)

I would like to know how you used 'all about the bass' in a sentence without finishing up with 'no treble'
Pino Palladino would be amazing to see.
