I just tried this method (with different products) and my curls were the most defined they've ever been... I've been natural for 10 years and never had a successful wash n go because my crown is 4c and is difficult to get a curl that can at least blend with the rest of my hair a little. After watching this video, I used this technique with products best suited for me and voila! It was like magic - my roommate asked what I did because she saw the curls. I really believe that this technique works for all types 4 and 3 hair as long as you find the product that works best for you with the style you are trying to accomplish.
My 4c hair doesn't exactly "curl" - just turns into cute zig-zag locks and it blends well with the rest that is curly... like well enough that several colleagues noticed and commented. Some asking me what I did to my hair - it was a proud moment lol. Deep conditioner - Argan Oil Hair Mask by Pure Body Naturals Shampoo - any Shea moisturizer (but I know there is a better option... just haven't found it yet) Conditioner - Shea moisturizer restorative (the key is to apply enough conditioner that your hair becomes drenched and weighted with the amount of definition you hope to have when you hair is dry... I have no idea why this works but it does) Moisturizer - Curls Creme Brulee (once again use very liberally) Gel - Eco styling gel (essential for my 4c areas) Anti-frizz - Garnier Fructis (same as in video) Oil - cocnut oil Takes hours to dry because of the gel, but the white residue does disappear once it's dry. Hope that helps!
Hi, I just watched this video last night and tried it out today and my hair looks ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Trust me when I say I have NEVER been able to perfect a wash and go after 3 years of being natural. They always look ridiculously frizzy with undefined curls, but this is great!!! Defined curls, no frizz, and no huge puff. Thank you!
Thank you so much for sharing , you have been a God send/ guidance for me because I am now starting to go weave free after wearing protective styles for a year & half after transitioning. I can see my curl pattern starting to define after I started using Shea moisture products & your amazing DIY DC smoothie, once a week for the last month. It really makes my twist out's look nice & keeps my hair very soft & manageable. I think I can try the wash & go now since my hair has been quenched / remoisturized. Thanks again April 👍.
Isnt it amazing when we finally find what works for our hair? Especially when it comes to a wash n go. Ooh lawd knows its tiring but ladies dont give up! We have wonderful woman such as April sharing their tips and tricks when it comes to styling and caring for natural hair. Thank you for this video! Stay blessed. Oh and a lot of ppl sleepin on that souffle but im telling yall, just give it a try! I was hesistant at first too but im glad i did because now its a must have.
Finally a wash n go routine I like, is not difficult and looks like it might work on my hair with the products I have and like using on my hair. Yayyy I'm trying this tomorrow but I might have to improvise since I don't have a diffuser yet. Thanks for the simple and well explained instructions! Yayyyy!
Hi I agree with Ms. Cornitcher. I got a fabulous wash and go for the first time!! My sister who is a die hard hair relaxer is now asking me how I got my hair to look like this and she now is thinking of going natural!! Thanks!!
one of if not the best and most informational video I've seen in 3 years.... Great tips, easy to understand and you actually show what you do.... kudos to you and thank you..
This was awesome!!! We have similar hair textures so it was great to see your definition AND shine. The products I've use have given me pretty good definition, but not shine....more dull, even ashy looking. One product gave me great shine and definition but my hair was super greasy. But your method looks awesome. Definitely going to try it. Thanks for sharing and going to check out your updated version :-)
I agree with everyone. This hands down is the best wash and go video. I also use the garnier serum, and I always use it before I use my products. I'm gonna have to use it after I apply my products.
Thanks for this video! I recently did a wash n go that I finally liked but your tips should help me take it to another level. I can't wait to try! Wash day is tomorrow! Yay!
this video is perfect especially with the shower washing touch. I have been natural for a while but yet to train my curl that's there without effort. Great tips to start it with.
My winter wash n go's have all been EPIC fails, so I've been mostly sporting wigs. I think I'm going give it one more try with this method. Thanks for posting.
Your wash-n-go is bomb!! Definitely trying some of your tips and tricks for tomorrow. I don't have the curl souffle and the serum, so the coconut oil and argan oil eco styler gel will have to do for now.
I have employed your techniques and revisited Eco Styler gel and I must say that this is my best wash n go ever! My hair looks like yours, just a little shorter. Thank you so much!
I will be sure to try this method. I did a wash n go for the first time in a while and it came out okay, but it was very frizzy in the back with puffy roots. I will also try the conditioner detangling method because I had a big problem detangling my curls.
Great tutorial, I'm out for spring break and I'm going to experiment with wash and go. I've always been nervous about trying, but with the next few days off I can see if the Attleboro keep.
my little niece just had her braids removed so that her hair could breathe freely over the summer. i'm at my wit's end trying to figure out how to manage her hair. i just pray that her hair hasn't locked over the past week and that your technique works! thanks
Love your hair! I tried wash and goes exclusively, but the tangles got the best of me, I had to comb it and brush it to detangle and I lost length. Once it grows back I'll try again
Great video. Crazy I just recorded a wash n go for my texlaxed hair. Your hair is gorgeous. I get the feeling wed have similar textures if I were natural as well.
Thank you so much for showing this routine. My hair texture is exactly like yours so I'm def going to look for the products you used, thanks for sharing :-)
God bless you, April. You have the patience to do all of this. My fro is only 2 inches and I barely feel like washing it on wash days....even though it takes about 10 mins lolol
You and I have similar hair texture so I'm hoping your methods will work with my hair. I may even buy some of the products you use. Good video with useful information.
Reminds me of my last wash-n-go, it was ON POINT and I got a full 7 days (could have worn it longer! 👍 I would like to do it weekly but afraid of the cold & the wear-n-tare on my stands, but I guess all the product layering protects it some what! April Bee
I love this tutorial. I've been natural about 2 years and my curl pattern is FINALLY the way I like. With the wash and go method what do you do for day to day maintenance? Do you have a morning routine or just tie it at night and shake out in the morning?
I love your method... you have a few extra steps that to a routine I used over the summer. I will definitely be trying out your method. :) I am just wondering what do you do to keep your hair in that style for a few days... for me once I go to sleep I mess it up. I'd love to know how you handle yours at night. Thanks for sharing such a great tutorial!! :)
Great video sis! Picked up some new tips. Thank you. I'm going to try my SM souffle under my Eco. And look into that Garnier serum. Beautiful wash and go!
Great video, Great Results! I can never get my roots to lay down so they always look poffy. I'll try your method and see if it works. One question, can I achieve this without a diffuser?
Clearly she stole my hair right off my head. We have the exact same curl pattern and or hair is dyed in the exact same place...I guess I should subscribe to keep an eye on this hair thief
If I were you I wouldn't focus so much on the curl pattern, however I would consider myself as having type 4a hair (s-curls) with some 4b around the (mainly front) edges
Wow. I can't believe you used to be relaxed. I loved watching your videos then and even more so now. Wish I had that texture, I'd switch in a heartbeat☺. Keep up the good work April. You're an inspiration for everyone. 💜
great video I have been doing my wash an go in a similar way and it works great. I omit the shea mositure and just use coconut oil and eco styler gel and I get awesome results. thanks for sharing
My hair type is similar to yours and I was wondering was your hair ever shorter than the length that you have now? And if so when it was shorter did it move the way it does now? My hair is about under the earlobes and it just doesn't really move unless I put in twist then it moves, but if I'm trying to shake my curls loose or into place it doesn't move. I was just wondering if your hair went through that phase? I've got shake and movement envy.
I really appreciate this video, I had my ish together, then I switched it up and it was fail, fail, fail. Back on track now. I do the tresseme with/baking soda. Then Shea moisture curl enhancing smoothie, Shea moisture gel, then argon ecco style. Geeseeeeh😥.The struggle is real.
this was relaxing to watch. i love seeing black hair in it's various forms! thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching !

Alright going to give this a try, but I don't have the Garnier Fructis:(

@@AprilBee Thanks , what setting was the blow dryer on when you were stretching it ?
The best wash and go tutorial I have every watched. Thank you.
Thank you so much!!
i just did my first Wash and Go after being natural for year and a half! this was so helpful
Very nice routine. Beautiful wash n go. I like the shape of your hair.

+Francine Baker Thanks for watching!

This was by far the best wash n go routine ever. I love it. And the products are reasonably prices. Thanks April.

Thank you sooo much!!
Your hair is so gorgeous! I'm scared to try wash and go's because my shrinkage is so bad! I may try using this method tho.
Good luck! Thanks for watching !
Ikr, she didn't have hardly any shrinkage!
Damn she went in! Beautiful results!
Beautiful!!!!!! May God bless you and keep you and give you peace.
Gorgeous! My hair shrinks so bad so I just do a twist out after my wash and go has dried. I will have to try this method out! Great video!
This is the best wash and go I've seen yet😍😍😍😍😍
Best detailed video on this style on TH-cam... Will be trying this ASAP!!! New subby!
Thank you for subscribing! ☺️
This is by far my favorite wash-n-go video! I never knew how to incorporate a blow dryer without the whole frizz factor. Very helpful :)
I absolutely love your hair. I just discovered your channel and I'm glad I did. I'm currently transitioning and I hope my texture is like this.
Great tutorial of your wash n go April. Thanks for sharing:-)
Thanks for watching!!

Love your definition! I am going to have to try the praying hands method on my hair versus raking product through hair
Thank you for this winter wash n go. Now I have to try this in the winter. You are my hair twin for real. Same curls and length right now.
This was awesome!!! We have similar hair textures so it was great to see your definition AND shine. The products I've use have given me pretty good definition, but not shine....more dull, even ashy looking. One product gave me great shine and definition but my hair was super greasy. You have some gorgeous hair!
Thanks for this video! I recently did a wash n go that I finally liked but your tips should help me take it to another level. I can't wait to try! Wash day is tomorrow! Yay!
im so glad you posted this because this is the exact method I use and people always ask how i do it. Now i can just refer them to your video!
GREAT results! I can't wait to try this method!
Love!!!!! I have to remember to stick with praying hands instead of raking to help eliminate some frizz! Thanks!
Hey Val, thanks for watching ! ☺️
this video is perfect especially with the shower washing touch. I have been natural for a while but yet to train my curl that's there without effort. Great tips to start it with.

Your wash-n-go is bomb!! Definitely trying some of your tips and tricks for tomorrow. I don't have the curl souffle and the serum, so the coconut oil and argan oil eco styler gel will have to do for now.
Awesome narrative and instructional guide. Your hair is beautiful!
I have employed your techniques and revisited Eco Styler gel and I must say that this is my best wash n go ever! My hair looks like yours, just a little shorter. Thank you so much!
Lou Wren Yay! so glad it worked out for you!
Love this wash n go hun! I havent tried a defined wash and go in ages..and this is making me want to try and use a diffuser/hair dryer next time x
I will be sure to try this method. I did a wash n go for the first time in a while and it came out okay, but it was very frizzy in the back with puffy roots. I will also try the conditioner detangling method because I had a big problem detangling my curls.
Love this! Just did this and I now have hope in being able to do my natural hair and a wash and go!!!! Thanks so much for this!
Great tutorial, I'm out for spring break and I'm going to experiment with wash and go. I've always been nervous about trying, but with the next few days off I can see if the Attleboro keep.

Love your hair! I tried wash and goes exclusively, but the tangles got the best of me, I had to comb it and brush it to detangle and I lost length. Once it grows back I'll try again
your hair is so healthy love it
Great video. Crazy I just recorded a wash n go for my texlaxed hair. Your hair is gorgeous. I get the feeling wed have similar textures if I were natural as well.
Nice! Our hair textures are very similar...the curl pattern and density.
I didn't know you also did hair videos as well as remodel videos congrats on both!!!!
I love your hair! I wish my natural texture was like that.
Love this!!! Your hair is the closest I could find to my curl texture.. new sub here...
Thank you so much for showing this routine. My hair texture is exactly like yours so I'm def going to look for the products you used, thanks for sharing :-)

Finger detangling is such a pain but I am loving the frizz free results I got from this tutorial.
this is fabulous!!!! I love it. Thank you so much for sharing!
April, how long do your styles last? Can you make a video of how it all looks at the end of a long, hard day?
can you show us day 2 hair? or how you maintain the wash and go throughout the week

Your hair is gorgeous! And we have similar hair patterns, yay!
Girl you have a new follower! your texture look like mine and this wash & go is the best believe me I can tell...I have tried so many... lol

Thank you so much for continuing to support my channel !! 😘😘
You did well. It almost resembles the weaves some women like to wear (no pun intended). Good Job! :-)
great video I have been doing my wash an go in a similar way and it works great. I omit the shea mositure and just use coconut oil and eco styler gel and I get awesome results. thanks for sharing

I bc'd at 1 year post. So my hair wasn't always this length. I used to have a short afro. Length and movement will come with time.
Thank you, there is hope for movement! I thought I was doing something wrong with my hair. =)
Ok going to try this method this weekend will keep you posted ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yay!
Could you make a tutorial on how to wrap up your wash n go at night?
Your hair is beautiful!!!
So in depth!!!! I loved it!!!
Beautiful results!
