Awesome! I have biracial twins with totally different hair textures. I tried chemically straightening the hair of one of them bcuz it was so coarse, a real 1970's fro going on. I wish I never touched it. First it thinned out, then it was so damaged that I had to cut it. I don't know how to braid, and it was to short to plait. The only thing I could do was blow dry and flat iron it. But five minutes later it was frizz. If I left it natural, there were pieces that were straight at the end. So finally last night I was so sick of it that I cut those scraggly ends off myself! After she fell asleep I stumbled across your video! Yay! Finally something that I can do with her hair! I did a quick version bcuz she had to get to school. And I don't like the products I have, so I am off to the store to pick up what you use, and hopefully it will come out even better. Thanks so much for your videos!
Naptural85 also gives great tips as well. Keep watching these vids to educate yourself. Having coarse hair is not bad if you do not fight against. Do what is best for your daughters hair so you can teach them.
I love natural hair! It's like, all the things you couldn't use or do before you can now do. I mean, I would have never raked gel through my hair when I was relaxed, and now that I'm natural I can do just about anything to achieve a bomb style! There's such a sense of freedom all around. At the same time there are a lot of things to remember and a lot of steps to take so that you don't break your hair off, but I still enjoy caring for my hair and being able to wash and go like this. Thanks for sharing!
Super cute wash n go!!!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who applies gel this way; at the root and a LOT of gel. For some curlies it's not always the alcohol in gels that can be drying to the hair. Its the Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein (in Eco Styler) or other proteins in other gels. For this very reason, I switched from the Eco Styler Olive Oil to WetLine Xtreme Gel.
i love that you showed the process of moisturizing each section it shows its important and that if you want results you have to do it right and its encouraging too! i just may watch while i do my own. i have a lot of hair! so yay!
I just did this same technique and it was amazing. I used shea butter and coconut oil with sweet almond oil mixed to put on top to seal everything in because my curls are super tight and dry. Worked wonders. Thanks chica!!
Just had twin girls and I want them to grow up relaxer and chemical free. Thank you for posting videos that show a variety of natural hairstyles. Will definitely be utilizing them as my girls get older. :)
Firstly, I love your videos...I tried finger coils based on your tutorial and they came out great! But let me tell you about the results I achieved from this wash and go tutorial...my curls are popping! I was definitely feeling myself this morning. Lol. I've been trying to perfect my wash and go for the past 4 years to no avail, but today my hair looks amazing! Thanks again and keep the videos coming!!!!
I've showed your videos to some of my friends who have been considering going natural and they've loved you and are going to do it really soon with a chop. I said the most important thing was having some natural inspirations and trying things and your videos helped me try things and hopefully it can help them or they can find their own natural inspiration but I'm glad to see your wash n go and I'm going to have to invest in some alcohol free gel (never tried gel before) so thanks for this.
Love it! I'm glad you found the process that works for you! I think wash n gos help my hair grow more than twist outs and braid outs. Not sure why, but my theory is that the gel helps to seal my ends so I don't have as much breakage. Plus, with my hair more separated, I don't get as much matting. It could just be the length of my hair. I think it rubs against my clothes and stuff so much that it gets tangled.
I love your technique, I'm just starting to embrace my natural hair so I'm most definitely a virgin to the natural hair world but I have to say after watching must of your videos I feel like I can really do this so thank you for taking time out your life to post videos like this.
It took me 5yrs of buying products to make my curls pop bc I hated gel. I started using gel and I never looked backed. I use Paul Mitchell The Conditioner as my Leave-In and mix my favorite oils with any ECOStyler Gel. My hair pop with soft, moisturized Curls that are never dry or crunchy and last for more than a week. I apply it and dry it just like you do. Always good hair days bc it never fails!
I use to do wash-n-gos way back when I was first going natural and I got bad knots. I have a looser hair texture than yours and ugh I have a pet peeve about knots lol, so I had to stop doing the wash-n-gos. its to much work for it no to last as long and create knots..I also don't find it a good hairstyle if trying to retain length. I now do flat twist outs. Nice video
I'm not a natural but i do have very thick and curly hair that gets incredibly frizzy your videos have really helped me control the frizz and where my hair curly more often thankyou!xxx
I ♡♥♡ your hair!!! I used this video as a guide to do my wash and go, and it turned out great!! Thanks again and keep the videos coming. You are my HAIR crush.
Great results. Love it. I may have to try this. I've been afraid of was n go's for the reasons you mentioned tangles, shrinkage and gel. My hair is fine but very tightly coiled and I have a feeling I will get a good result with the Eco styler gel vs a non gel was n go. Thanks for sharing!
i agree with you about focusing the gel on your roots & finger combing the gel as if you were finger detangling. when i had wash & go successes that was why
Best Wash-and-go video I have seen. I guess I have been taking the wash-and-go word too literal. Mine NEVER TURN OUT LIKE THIS!!! I actually have to style it, not just wash-and-just go
... don't lie ya'll, this wash n go is poppin! (singing voice). Ha! My favorite part! Beautiful and helpful, as I have ecostyler gel but have recently tried other products that don't give me the weight I need to tame the frizz and root tangling. Afraid no longer! Thanks girl 😄
Only thing I don't like about washngo s (I did one yesterday) are the darn knots ugh and detangling oh and the #shrinkage. But yours looks super cute love your detailed videos!!😍😍😍
YESSSS girl! Thats exactly how i do my wash n go! Except that I put my hair in 2 pigtail buns while I get ready in order to stretch them, that way its less heat and I save on the electric bill
That came out so pretty! For me I find the W&G is just not worth it, too much product (for my sensitive scalp that likes to breath) takes more time than twist/braid outs and way too many ssk. I can get awesome definition with twist/braid outs and they're healthier for my hair too, meaning I don't need to trim as soon. I love the look of leave in cond (Hair Dew), seal oil (evoo), and then a styling butter (Camille Rose Curlaide) and then a nice silky smooth moisture butter like As I Am double butter and then tension blow drying my hair (holding a few inches from the ends, do not blow the ends) on warm or cool air and going out the door. Thats like a wash a go but not super defined so it looks more natural but my hair is stretched so less tangles and knots and my hair is super soft and moisturized and big! Give that a try!
I wish my wash and go's looked like this, I've been natural for almost a year (1 year anniversary this month!) and my hair still isn't nearly as long as yours. I just really hate the shrinkage! But im glad i finally found a hair twin :D Love you and your videos!
Very nice. I can't seems to tame the frizz and Ecostyler isn't for me, but I will try this technique again using another brand of styling gel. Thanks so much for the tips and awesome video.
I will definitely try this method soon, I'm 14 months natural and about 7.5 inches of hair right now. Thats not much hair but my wash and go just might turn out awesome.
Im FINALLY going to try this wash and go tomorrow! I think I'm somewhere in between 4a/4b, so im not sure how it'll turn out on my hair. I hope it looks as good as yours!
I absolutely love your videos you have helped me a lot!! I tried your first wash and go and had very good results can't wait to try this one for a faster Style thank you so much☺☺
Thank you! I love that you can watch my videos and understand that your texture is different but still take something away from it! I know wash-n-go's aren't always an option for 4c ladies but hopefully my hairstyle videos can inspire a little! :) thanks so much for the support!
So i already have thick hair and i wasn't feeling wash n go styles because my hair would already have volume x100. I was also afraid of using too much gel. I tried your technique of applying gel to the roots.... gurl can u say a perfect hair style!!! Lol I'm rocking 3rd day hair it still looks amazing!!!! Thnx for the tips!!
I love wash and gos but it makes make my hair shrink soooo much! I guess I have to try out the blow drying method. Thx for sharing!! Your wash and go looks awesome!
Ok, so I stopped using ecostyler a while back and started making my own gel, but I loved this video and how your hair turned out. So I might have to try it this way for summer. You just got another subscriber girl! Keep doing your thing. ^_^
Mini Marley Yeah! I actually really love it to slick down my hair for puffs (my staple style), but I'm not sure if it would work well for wash-n-go's...I learned the recipe from ***** but I'm sure it's all over the net. I really prefer using all natural products so I actually did some research after watching your video and bought some Giovanni L.A. Natural Styling Gel. It's supposed to have a lot of hold, which is why I think the ecostyler works so well at defining curls. I'm going to use that with your method and we'll see how it goes! Good luck with the flax seed gel. It's kind of cool to make the first time around. Lol ^_^
I absolutely love this. The tip about the moisturizing is great. I needed that. I have a similar hair pattern. I was wondering. Have you tried using any other products like Miss Jessie's jelly soft curls and the buttercream? If so, how did the results vary? Thanks 😘
I just happened to stumble across your channel today and I must say I am now a fan! I'm fairly new to the natural hair game I'm a year and a half in. So what is your night time routine to keep your wash and go looking fresh and moisturized? I have OVERLY dry hair so anything will help. I'm going to try your deep conditioner regiment this weekend :)
I'm in love with your hair !!!! I'm transitioning to natural, my last perm was in June of last year and I'm gonna do the chop this summer ! And I have no clue what to do with my hair, and how to manage it. I'm kinda confused because some people are saying how hard it is to manage natural hair and others are like you just need a couple products and make sure you keep it moisturized and stuff so... Idek !? And I'm kinda afraid of not being able to manage my texture whatever that may be lol. What Advice would you be able to give me ???
P.S.: I also love blow drying my roots, but immediately get that fear of heat damage, so I try to stay away from it . . . but I end up doing it again anyway because my wash and goes look so great when I do it. Can't wait until my hair gets to a point where I'm okay with the shrinkage. Right now my shrinkage looks as if I am still in the TWA phase, so I HAVE to get some length somehow!
Awesome! I have biracial twins with totally different hair textures. I tried chemically straightening the hair of one of them bcuz it was so coarse, a real 1970's fro going on. Hmm I have to look into this!
Gorgeous!!!! I just love the diversity of our hair!!!!
I wanted to say thank you. Watching your videos have given me some new ideas for my hair. Thank you keep them coming
I learned if you apply a nozzle to the blow dryer it help to get solely the roots. Again Awesome vid
I appreciate all you younger ladies that show us how to do natural hair. Ya'll have helped me with styling my teen daughter hair and mine!
i love that you showed the process of moisturizing each section it shows its important and that if you want results you have to do it right and its encouraging too! i just may watch while i do my own. i have a lot of hair! so yay!
I just did this same technique and it was amazing. I used shea butter and coconut oil with sweet almond oil mixed to put on top to seal everything in because my curls are super tight and dry. Worked wonders. Thanks chica!!

Yessss its poppin! Beautiful!
Thank you!! :))
+Mini Marle
Your hair is beautiful! I'm still hesitant about wash n go's but you made the process look so easy that I may just try it out soon. Thanks!
Try it! I hope it works out!
We are hair twins! I've been natural since the late 90s. We used to call this technique Shingling
Girl this is beautiful! Your hair is lovely and it has grown SO much!

That is a BANGING wash n go! Your hair is beautiful.
I never have good luck with Wash n gos but I think I may try it again just from watching your video. Gorgeous hair!!

I now do flat twist outs. Nice video
If I could get my wash and go's that perfect, I would NEVER twist or braid my hair again!
I actually get tired of it sometimes and I think twist-outs and braid-outs are better for letting your hair grow!
but ugh its so perfect lol
You're one of my motivations! I'm transitioning, and it's been since December 2013. Your hair is beyond gorgeous!
I'm not a natural but i do have very thick and curly hair that gets incredibly frizzy your videos have really helped me control the frizz and where my hair curly more often thankyou!xxx
I watched this video yesterday and tried your method this morning. My hair looks great!! Thanks hun!! Love your channel!
I followed your directions and THANK YOU! It's soft and bouncy! I love it!
i agree with you about focusing the gel on your roots & finger combing the gel as if you were finger detangling. when i had wash & go successes that was why
I have watched this video over and over like it's a movie. Lol. This worked for me & I can FINALLY wear a wash n go! Thanks!!!!!!
Best Wash-and-go video I have seen. I guess I have been taking the wash-and-go word too literal. Mine NEVER TURN OUT LIKE THIS!!! I actually have to style it, not just wash-and-just go
This style just gave me life... Doing it today! Love your videos
This looks great girl! I already tried the puff and I love it! Can't wait to try this out!
UR WASH & GO WAS POPPIN LIKE NO OTHER! WORK IT!!!!!
your wash n go came out beautifully. I have been natural for 6 years and using Eco Styling gel works for me too. Your hair a lovely.
Your wash & go is awwwwesome!!!! I need to moisturize more before gel application because mine are so blah. Lol! Thanks for sharing this!
Gorgeous as always! I'm gonna give the wng another try since it's finally getting warmer. Thanks for the video!
Your hair looks gorgeous. How do you maintain this style during the week?
I'm so excited about going natural now thanks to your videos.
Beautiful hair. I don't even do wash n gos because they are so much work, but I may try one now!
Love it....I'll be attempting this tomorrow morning on my hair!!! & I love all your tips they were REALLY helpful....
You are definitely my hair twin. So glad I found you! !
Oooooh. I really thank you for showing how to moisturize before the gel. Great video and beautiful personality along with that lovely mane. TFS ♡♡
Love it! My motto is "when in doubt, over gel!"
... don't lie ya'll, this wash n go is poppin! (singing voice). Ha! My favorite part! Beautiful and helpful, as I have ecostyler gel but have recently tried other products that don't give me the weight I need to tame the frizz and root tangling. Afraid no longer! Thanks girl 😄

YESSSS girl! Thats exactly how i do my wash n go! Except that I put my hair in 2 pigtail buns while I get ready in order to stretch them, that way its less heat and I save on the electric bill
Looooove your videos! I jump on TH-cam when i receive video notifications from you!! Yaaaaaaaaaaassssssss girl luv you!!!!

this thing wont let me watch
Breanna your WNG looks great! I look forward to seeing the update you mentioned on your instagram.
Best wash and go I've seen in a while
This is just perfect! definitely gonna try this out for my wash-n-go!
Im FINALLY going to try this wash and go tomorrow! I think I'm somewhere in between 4a/4b, so im not sure how it'll turn out on my hair. I hope it looks as good as yours!
Hey Mini Marley, I love what I have seen and will try it. I have done something like that before and it was poppin!!!
Okay that's good.

YES THIS WASH AND GO WAS BOMB! LOVE IT!
Love your videos. As a 4c I gave up on wng's and just let my hair do it's thing. Glad it's working for you! Keep the nice videos comin '
Thank you! I love that you can watch my videos and understand that your texture is different but still take something away from it! I know wash-n-go's aren't always an option for 4c ladies but hopefully my hairstyle videos can inspire a little! :) thanks so much for the support!
"This wash n go is poppinnnn'!" Haha love it! I'm gonna try this today.
Beautiful! This helped me so Much!
Your wash and go looks awesome!
we have the same type of hair ... love it ... so I'm gonna watch your videos all the time because i had a big chop july 2013 and I'm loving it
Any tips for doing the front of your hair for a versatile part? Also night time maintenance ?? Thanks boo! 💕
Gorgeous! Always love your hair. Keep the videos coming!
I like....I use a demin brush it gives me more defined curls but great advice especially with the gel
Love your hair! I'm gonna try this! I just washed my hair and I have the same products you used so let's see how it goes !
I love this technique!! I was using something similar but this video helped me fine tune what I was doing. Thanks! BTW, that style IS poplin' on you!!
Love the style & color. I'm gonna try this method.
Ok, so I stopped using ecostyler a while back and started making my own gel, but I loved this video and how your hair turned out. So I might have to try it this way for summer. You just got another subscriber girl! Keep doing your thing. ^_^
Thank you!! Yah I actually want to try flax seed gel soon. Is that what you make?
Lol ^_^
This style gave me life..... yasssss
That wash-n-go IS poppin!
My very first wash and go was an epic fail and I haven't tried it again since then. I'm going to have to try it again.
Same here.
Mine was too, twistouts are always fails and wash and gos what the hell! My hair cant do shit whats the point
Love this!!! Been hesitant to try a wash n' go but this method looks good and I yes all those products anyways! Thanks girl! :)
beautiful! when my hair gets a little longer i'd have to try this method. thanks for sharing.
Your hair is EVERYTHING!! How do you maintain the this style throughout the week?
How long does your wash n go last? Do you moisturize it after it's done? What's your daily maintenance routine with this style?
Mini ur hair is poppn girl. Simply gorgeous! I'm gona try it. Thanks for the tut sweetie.
I have been waiting for this :) Thanks! Im going to try the blow dryer for my w&g's now!
I'm going to try this! Last time I put that much gel I looked like a wet dog! But that was over a year ago so I'll give it another go.. Thanks!
I really like this. I'm going to try this. .. Thanks for sharing!!!!
I did this to my hair with the same products && it came out PERFECT !
Your hair is goals. I love your hair,, 💓
You are definitely my current hair crush 😍!
Love it!! I will be trying this routine out & thanks for sharing.
This technique worked for me! Thanks so much! Your hair looks awesome!
Now I see what I've doing wrong. So many methods but I'm confident this one's definitely for me.
