I appreciate the Dr. being pointing out the various ambivalences in imaging, pretty much everybody else pretends like everything is clear cut on this fuzzy crap.
Thank you so much for covering this. Is it safe to assume that patients could feel impingement/pressure along the fibula during ankle dorsiflexion if the mass is in the anterolateral gutter?
I had arthroscopic surgery 7 months ago for a lesion of the talus but I don't think that was the main issue. I think this is the issue (ALI) but I don't think my podiatrist checked it. I still have the same ankle pain I had before the surgery.
According to my MRI report - Impression/conclusion: Small focus of scarring along the dorsal aspect of the talonavicular joint, partly encasing the superficial peroneal neurovascular bundle, just deep to the extensor hallucis and digitorum tendons, corresponding to the location of the pain marker. Anterior impingement is considered. The ankle ligaments are intact. Underlying laxity cannot be adequately assessed on MRI. Does this require surgery or can it be treated by physiotherapy? I just have pain when sitting crossed legs on the floor or extreme dorsiflexion. No problem while walking or running. Please suggest what should I do? It's been more than 3 months since ankle sprained.
I have Synovitis in gutter & it's ruining my Quality of Life. No one seems to have a true solution. I have a 19 yr career on the line & was hoping to have a quick resolution. Instead I get sent to Dr to Dr.... With no treatment or solutions
