Shouldn't be added 🙈. Got it on my Scania in real life and it brakes for a lot of things 🙄. Line detection is just as bad 😞. Looks really good in videos like this, but in reality it isn't 😬. Mine brakes for parked cars, cars that turn of and even for barriers at road works 🤣
another problem would be the one behind the truck, if the latter do not have the emergency braking system and is a bit too close to the Volvo truck, it might collide with it
its an impressive system, but i can see there being situations where it could cause trouble. like going down a multilane freeway, and a car comes up on you and cuts you off... normally you would go easy on the brakes and slow down. but this system goes into panic mode on an unsuspecting driver.. sometimes when loading/unloading from multiple destinations your load might not be balanced properly, maybe its raining heavily, or snow/ice... black ice. how does these sensors hold up to time, salt, snow... any chance a fault could cause it to lock up out of nowhere? has this ever happend? or maybe the driver loosing control of the truck because he wasnt ready for an emergency brake, causing a bigger mess... just because someone cut him off. i think i would be more comfortable with a driver in control of the brakes... but more focus on systems to alert the driver. maybe the same sensors but just an annoying alarm if the truck is to close to the car infront.
groggy greg The whole point of this is that it can react a lot faster than any human. An annoying warning won't really help. By the time the driver makes a decision, it would be too late. This is a bit of a catch 22 because you have to take control away from the driver to make the system react fast enough to be useful. But by doing this, you could potentially make it more dangerous.
That's hardly the fault or responsibility of the Volvo or its driver though. If the person behind the truck is driving right up his ass the crash is his own responsibility, and if the driver in front of the Volvo does something crazy and unpredictable causing others to crash it's his responsibility. Also, it's much less dangerous to run into the back of a truck moving in the same direction as you than for a truck to plow through a car at full speed. In Europe it's a requirement for trucks to have that bar at the back so smaller cars can't go under the rear of the truck or trailer and people ending up getting decapitated.
@@groggygreg1063 this is not entirely true. If you've ever experienced good AEB's in action, you will know that they only apply brakes if the braking distance is slowly becoming closer to the object you're following. And this is calculated by the delta of your speed vs. the object you're following. If it's small, the system won't just "rapidly" brake out of nowhere. Some - but not all - AEB systems even take weather conditions into effect.
@@jblbasstester6198 Yes, the people who design this aren't playing arround they take all the prrcautions to ensure the system only reacts when it needs to.
2 problems.. 1, was that test done under a payload? And 2, why is the single trailer stuck up waaay too close to the cab? I'd like to see that thing make it into a parking spot..
V-TEC KICKS IN BRO!!!! Everyone: It´s about the Volvo braking system... ME: Yeah V-TEC KICKS IN BRO!!!!, is the short word for: VOLVO AUTOMATIC BRAKE-TEC KICKS IN BRO!!!! 😂

they kinda do tbh not the best, but it slows dow the truck enough for it to not evicerate the car in front of it, sure it might still crash, but it won't be as bad
This braking system must be added in Euro Truck Simulator 2 😃😃
yeah
Yeah
SKG_Tonkis it’s called turning your brake sensitivity up all the way lol
In the Multiplayer is it very Imporant

Plot twist: The emergency braking only works on other volvo cars.
Lol
I'm always suprised how good the Swedish speak English, just perfect :)
The dutch and belgians even better
@@ballist5102 errr no. I'm Dutch and the Swedes are definitely better at English
That brakes is so good
The truck cab suspension is god
u'll never see that cab susp on an american truck lol
That doesn’t mean that their American…

I am a bit worried about the trailer cargo can roller over during this short distance stop if weight reaches certain point?

it actually does

Amazing!!!!!
How much of the cargo in the back is spilled or broken now?
If the driver is securing the load properly, none :)
the bumper is so close to hitting the ground
Fantastic.
More faster and will see if those “smart brakes “ works well

Leave it up to the EU they can prevent "ruin" anything!
