Witness to this saving 2 lives today.I was a passenger in a Scania,The driver didn't see a broken down car with 2 people standing by it,this system saved the day.
It freaking slammed the breaks on me last week! I was going 50 in the city zone with no other traffic in front. It gave me a collision warning for 1 second and than slammed the brakes on, nearly shit myself to dead lol
Today my new scania I tramp in automatically braked before I could touch the pedal. M6 near Birmingham a truck ahead pulled out to overtake into the path of a fast moving car, which then braked hard, the collision warning came on as I went for the brake pedal, then it nose dived and I shit myself.
The thought of the gas pedal cancelling the system is interresting. Instead of saving someones life you might aswell make sure if you are going to crash into them- you do it at a fatal speed! (I am aware thats probably not their mindset)
What if there are a wet surface or ice on the road, by braking the bus it will only make it slide, and if the driver is on watch it would be much better that he reacts with steering away and give gas so you won't slide into the car

Because when it s sbowing the propability of fals alarm is to hight and when is snowing you have to brake genntly and pre thinking .

is the braking system the same as volvo or is it your own system?
Own system scania was the one with the aeb system idea and volvo copied it
