@@ЭдуардЯляев This is quite easy to do with the Greeks, Macedonians and Carthage. It is also possible with Gaul, although this depends on how united the response is from all the Roman factions.
Considering the performance of the Armoured Hoplites against the the Roman roster, I was expecting the Sacred Band to prevail over the Praetorians. But it sure was a close call.
Sacred Band have the advantage of being able to kill and keep the enemy at bay with their pikes, whilst also being actually decent swordsmen if the enemy gets too close.
Oh come oooooon, again with the damn guard mode? We've already established it's bad against infantry. Why did you use it again? I demand a rematch against the Urbans and the first cohort. Without the guard mode the Sacred Band would have won! Also, not pressing Stop to make them switch back to their pikes is very unfair to the Band. It's literally just a button, takes less than a second to push.
Thanks for the comment. As in previous cases, for the consistency in this test. :) I will add a "proper" 5 x 1 vs 1 tests for those units to To-Do list. Regarding that, what is your view on other matters: 1) Can Romans stop so they can get 2 x pila throw? 2) Can the Roman formation be set to as wide as possible? 3) Should the unit size be smaller (as huge benefits phalanxes?
@@qualityoldgames7721 alright, let’s make a balanced deal. Unit size is large instead of huge and the Romans can throw both pila. But in exchange the sacred band fights without the guard mode and with the use of a Stop key. What do you say?
I wonder if the fight against the praetorians would have gone better if the sacred band deployed in a deeper formation, risking partial envelopment while presumably using their soeads for longer. They won, yes, but did they win as well as they could? Would that have hurt them greatly?
To be fair, the praetorians were more reliable around this time. It was after the Rome: Total War era that they started getting stabby around their charges.
Bravo to that brave centurion of the praetorian cohort who flanked
Agreed on that :) Thanks for the comment.
Читерная фигня как и сама фракция Рим в ваниле , самый кайф его давить до реформ, это разве не может сделать только Нумидия или Испания )

Agreed on that. Plus rather resistant to missiles as well :) Thanks for the comment.

Indeed :) Thanks for the comment.
The urban cohort centurion killing enemies when you were looking at him, and right after the triple time and panning back to him he kills some more 😂
Yea, he was the MVP here :) Thanks for the comment.

Awesome. Poeni war was not coincidently happened.
Ture :) Thanks for the comment.
19:12 - Pullo, formation!
PS: I knew sacred band would best corrupt pretorians...
"Pullo! Shields on me!"

@@napoleoncomplex2712 Well, agreed :) Thanks for the comment.
The finest of Carthage, or do we consider the horse's the finest?
Thanks for the comment. I think we could consider Elephants ;)
I voted a close victory for Praetorians yesterday. Oof!
Quite close though :) Thanks for the comment.
