I used to go to towyn every year with my mam and dad when I was a kid, I was in the back of his reliant robin it was uncomfortable and took hours from St Helens,
I used to really think it was a foreign country.
I have fond memories of the Black cat and the millers cottage, and walks up and down the beach it was a great place, at that time they used to have jousting on at gwyrch castle.
I drove through there recently the first time for many years, it really took me back, very nostalgic and sad.

After spending my childhood on many holidays in towyn I recently brought a static caravan and enjoying my childhood memories all over again.

Such great memories, palins or oakfields each summer as a kid. the sunny days seemed so long back then, the little outdoor pool at palins was always freezing lol. Thanks for uploading this, i will be down for nostalgic weekend in august.

its wonderful to have such happy memories keep them within ur heart as they will last a lifetime. i live across the road from roy kellets and the chapel house i was born and bred in roy kellet and his family once lived next door to us on a little caravan site known as fourway caravan park which had a little cottage with a metal tin roof. i just got back from towyn, stayed on the sandy bay caravan park next to the sandy bay inn, its great you have the blackcat 2 across the street from you and to the left is knightleys fair ground and then the beach. Also, the house is still there and next to that they also have a minigolg course. i went last year and begged my parents to take us back so went for a week and i really enjoyed it!

Towyn is very dear to my heart although now living in the States for many years now I spent most of my summers in the 70's and early 80's there.. waisting my Mums money on buckets and spades and those cheap flip flops hiding and playing on the beach boulders that have now gone yeah! loved it then and love it now and get back there as often as I can... is Bailey bridge still there?

i thought i never heard of Bailey Bridge the only bridge in Towyn near Rhyl is the blue bridge and all the railway bridges ... Tywyn Meirionydd is fantastic and the beach is heaven there I agree totally.

I'm born and bred in Towyn and its a home that I will never leave it's just a shame that some areas are not being taken care of. Towyn original LOCAL people want Towyn cleaned up.I think Towyn is a 2nd home to many people and if it was not for the tourist trade Towyn would of died many years ago but it would be nice if some people did show a little respect to the village. Thanks for the comment. N
