I've since purchased another pair of Gazelles in 1 size down from my regular size - 5 instead of 6 - and they fit great. Some comparison notes based on my true Size 6: I own the Gazelle in yellow with pink stripe in Size 6 - these are a Women's shoe, nylon upper, and when I tried the Size 5, they were too short and too small The light green Gazelle in the video are a Size 6 - these are also a Women's shoe, suede upper, and felt the same as my yellow and pink Women's Gazelle in Size 6 My newest Gazelle is the blue suede with white stripes in a Size 5 - these are a Unisex shoe and fit perfect in both length and width - they feel like my Samba in Size 6 which are also a Unisex shoe So it seems that if the shoe is unisex, then going down a full size in the Gazelle can work out! Ultimately it will depend on your own foot length, shape, and comfort nuances - I would suggest that you order more than 1 size if possible and return the one that doesn't work out. If ordering directly from Adidas US or CA, they offer free return shipping within 30 days. Good luck!
Size 8 spezial is best for me - I have 3 pairs I liked the fit so much. But in samba I tried 8 and it cut my heels due to the back digging into it. I also find them less comfortable due to lack of arch support and the insole is terrible as you say. I think I could go for 8.5 in the samba with my own more supportive insole next time. Do you think that would work?

That the spezial differs from the sambas and gazelles is very easy to explain: They are made for indoor handball and not for football. That also explains why they are longer: Playing handall you have many abruptly stopping movemets. So your feet need to have more „freedom of movement“. Otherwise you could fall over or even worse.
spezial 100% unless u have a flat foot because the spezials have really prominent arch support but the spezials are definitely the BEST for comfort and are the cutest in my opinion

I bought Adidas Gazelle Jr size 36 and 2/3, and on their chart and on sneakers it says they are 22.5 cm, but I masured them and they are 24 cm. I want to order Spezials, but I am not sure they labeled my shoes the wrong size or is the size chart off?

great video. perfectly explained. NOBODY else did it better on the WHOLE OF TH-cam. exactly what I felt. Spezials are too long on the fingers. the big toe is fine. and Adidas sizing is a MESS. Nike UK 10 is 45 and almost everybody on the planet has this sizing. But Adidas being an idiot, has UK 10 as 44 2/3 and 10.5 as 45 1/3 (10.5 is not available almost anywhere) and 11 is 46 . My foot is exactly 45 so I need to go upto 11 on Adidas which fine with Sambas but Spezials are too long for 11 and too tight for 10.
Best ever shoe was Adidas universal. Looked like samba but made in former Yugoslavia sold in East Germany. 64 East German marks . Lather in and out . Handball special where much harder but good for pro handball players . I had special pair with removable pegs for different surfaces.

For the sleekest look which would be the best choice of 3 to wear with jeans to not be bulky.

I peel off arch suport from spezial and it made them more comfortable.
