Description:
Did you know that the original Barbie doll was named after Barbara Handler, the founder’s daughter? And that the doll actually got transformed from the original German doll for adults called Bild Lilli? But many countries weren’t happy with how these dolls were portrayed, so they created their very own version of Barbies. We bet you can find a Barbie doll alternative everywhere you go.
Ever heard of Hijarbie? The term took the Internet by storm, and it belongs to the 24-year-old Haneefah Adam from Nigeria. She wanted to create a Barbie doll that dressed like her. As there are no Muslim Barbie dolls in Mattel’s collection, she decided to make her own version and document her creativity on Instagram. Her account became hugely popular, and Haneefah continues to outline the beauty of Muslim Barbie dolls.
Nigeria also has one of the most best-selling Barbie doll alternatives called Queens of Africa. These Barbies embrace African culture in body and spirit. You can find three models, and each of them represents a popular African tribe. Queens of Africa are also really rocking the African fashion and are gorgeously styled from head to toe.
Another popular Barbie doll alternative is called Pullip, and you can find it in South Korea. These fashionable dolls have adorably large heads and big eyes, which are completely customizable. Pullips are a huge hit, and the company releases new dolls almost every month!

yes they do😔
I lost 3 of my cousins last year coz of cancer
RIP my lovely cousins
Marlayna McAllister they should!poor girls...
Habiba Hassan I feel so bad for you!
+Bee in the Hive thank u 💖💖
Habiba Hassan no problem
They should also do Barbie's who have either missing limbs or have prosthetic limbs for those who are disabled. Not everyone is the same.
That's a amazing idea I lost my leg from a disease and I feel jealous when I see that the Barbie doll has two perfectly fine legs
@@jessgannon7396 Fashionista Barbie number 121
Share a Smile Becky is in a wheelchair and they do have one with a peg leg.
The newest 2020 fashionista dolls have one in a prosthetic leg and two also come in wheelchairs
They do,theres two barbies like that one has a metal leg and the other has a wheelchair

BunnyTaff Love this comment ❤💞
BunnyTaff this made my day!
BunnyTaff I liked the dolls at 2:51 they r so cute and so cool!!!!!
Pullip dolls are kinda creepy in my opinion, but cool at the same time
I Like Cats But I'm Allergic To Them yeah
They’re kinda cute, but I find them creepy at the same time. But hopefully I could own one and experience looking and holding one.
Im thinking the same thing
tiny bit creepy but I love them but I hate how this video called them a type of barbie like hell no. Pullip dolls are not made for kids and not really meant to play with, they are 15+ lol.
Yea its a bit scaryy and creepyy..
I'm muslim and in my opinion, each and every single one is beautiful. the same way EVERYONE on earth is beautiful no matter what race or religion
Lena Shawarby
I agree with you ✋👍
Lena Shawarby 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Your the best
Oh my god I commented this such a long time ago lmfao I didn’t even remember it but thx guys
My favourite ones we're the Korean one the Muslim and Japanese I'm Muslim myself love the Muslim one not just because it's my religion but because it looks cute with the head scarf! Like if you agree please!
Abu Yasin thank you for respecting our country Igor bless u
I think you should let the others love their own culture.
I'm a Muslim too (btw I'm a girl I use my brothers account)
Same I’m muslim
Daniyal Khan yes I’m a girl I’m on my brothers account
The Africa ones I HAVE TO GET ALLLLL OF THEM
I know right they were SOOOOOOOO pretty
The Muslim dolls are all so cute! I've loved Fulla since I first heard about her years ago!
Also: I never ONCE thought Mattel was being exclusive by not making dolls of different body types. I saw it as allowing every doll to wear any outfit. To me it was "here! dress her up in her friend's clothes!", which was something I always wanted to do myself, but I never could.
I also NEVER saw Barbie as a doll of exclusion even though there was no Barble that "looked" like me, as a first generation SE Asian growing up in redneck, PA in the late 70s and early 80s. I don't know what kind of kid is so PC unless heavily influenced by parents. My parents let be a child.
9:21 Hatsume Miku?!
It's Hatsune Miku
I'm triggered
yes and that was a pullip doll and not a licca doll
Jaxel Scythe ii
Jaxel Scythe zz
Yes I cringed when I heard that! Also they forgot to mention the japanese doll... that I forgot how its called xD
Junko Enoshima licca Chan? xD
So I'm a Canadian girl with an Italian background, I wanted to know more about the Italian barbie so I searched her up and when I went on images her outfits and hairstyles look very Latina and when I read the biography on her it clearly states she's an Italian woman from 1682 but I think Mattel kinda messed up with the fashion choice I don't mean to hate I'm very grateful for the Italian barbie I just wish they outfits were more Roman Times.:)
I love the Korean dolls 😍😍😍
jessey IKR
I have 5 pullips, but they cost over 100$ And I hoped it would be told...

I've got a hats unexpected miku
*hatsune miku*
After seeing these dolls, I feel as if we're missing something. Before you start raging at this comment, I realise that these are for children. The type of dolls we need are dolls that represent mental illnesses and disabilities. Think about it for a second. I was thinking about this for a while and came up with ideas for barbies of different views on the world. Children can have mental illnesses just like adults. I also think that dolls with missing limbs should also be available for children since they're are children like that.
ur comment was so inspiring😢😢
Yeah I'm making a wheel chair and shaving off one of my Barbie's hair!!!
The things: you can find a fulla doll in Indonesia
Me: I don't find this doll anywhere in Indonesia
P.S I'm a catholic but it would be nice to find a Muslim doll in a store
ikr im from indonesia but i never find fulla doll but i find barbie with muslim looks but is not fulla.
Jasmine's Fantasy World i find fulla barbie doll in rabbani (muslim hijab store) in Indonesia #IndoSquad
HEY I AM INDONESIA , AND I AM MUSLIM TOO! But i cant find fulla dolls anywhere -_-
Jasmine's Fantasy World I'm from Egypt and we had a lot of them but now I have no idea where are they but I'm happy it made the list 😊
Jasmine's Fantasy World No, I'm pretty sure she said Saudi Arabia; that's where I got mine when I was little.
I am a muslim and it makes me really happy to see this ❤️😍
dolls have been there before barbie, so calling the Korean and Japanese dolls as rip off is a stupid idea, given that they have different proportions and different making style which makes them unique in their own
They weren't calling them rip-offs, though, just saying that they're basically the Korean and Japanese counterparts to Barbie, as in they play the same role for children in those countries as Barbie dolls do in other countries.
Since the title isn't "10 AMAZING Fashion-Dolls From Around The World" we can have expectations on the doll's proportions. What was fun with "Jenny", the doll "Sindy", and plenty others (even the "Action Man" dolls) was the fact we could use all the doll's different clothing and accesories on any replica.
Sam C.
tbh I liked those more than the ones I had when I was younger
MassiveFlame33 MR same
MassiveFlame33 MR same
The Miku doll is not called Hatsume,it is called Hatsune Miku right? And it is the Japanese doll.
Kimigarure Haruna

Yep!
My favorite barbie I ever owned was a doll I called DJ (It stands for Donna Joe) she was a curvy barbie which made it feel more real to me and since I didn't (And still don't) have many friends she felt like a real friend
awww
Did you name her DJ after the Full House character?
@@subway830 Yeah, at the time I was really into Fuller house and decided to watch Full House as well and I was really little so I liked naming dolls after people or characters
@@aliciab.b.1837 That's really cool! I used to name dolls after characters in movies and tv shows too
I hope that anyone reading this has an AMAZING day!😄
The Cookie_Cats I had an amazing day, Thanks
Have a nice day

*mentions pullip dolls, shows blythe dolls which are not the same thing* also they arent priced the same as a barbie they can range from 80 to 200 USD
Hi
Arisha Redfield
Arisha Redfield it’s true my ally pullip doll costed $115
OMG the pullip dolls are awesome! 😍
Pullip dolls are expensive collectors items, not really an alternative to Barbies. That's like saying a bjd that costs hundreds of dollars is an alternative to monster high dolls. I'm sure there is a more comparable doll popular with Koreans. A doll that is intended for play as well as display.
Yeah pulip dolls can cost hundreds of dollars
Unknown the jellyfish idk if you like barbies, Unknown XD you supposed to be in RFA now
Most of these aren't even barbies... Not all dolls are barbies, there are different brands too
Loki Love It's a TYPE of Barbie
No Barbie is a type of doll!
Exactly. Barbie is a type of doll produced only by Mattel . Different doll companies name their dolls differently as was evident in the video . I was also a bit miffed by the fact that the term Barbie was used in the title as if all the dolls sold around the world are Barbie when they used different types in the video. Still the video was good.
Hold up, when they showed the Miku doll for Licca-chan, they showed the Pullip doll of her.
Private LambChops/Iya the Hatsune Miku is a pullip doll it says on the packaging. I know that because I have her.
Private LambChops/Iya I LOVE THE PULLIP
Private LambChops/Iya Yes I noticed too! Do you prefer Pullip or Likka-Chan?
Amanda Raissa me too but they are SO expensive in the U.K.
Honestly everyone’s just proud of dolls people made for their culture and then there’s the people (including me) just pissed at the way they pronounced ‘Licca’ and ‘Hatsune’. And also the fact that Hatsune was a Pullip doll.
I was very triggered so I was tryna find some people feeling the same way and I found ‘em so..
LOLLL Hatsune is a pullip
Pullips aren't toys they're collection dolls!!!
Loya• True, I have one. They are waaaay to delicate for childplay
Loya• you can if you use them gently
but the video never said they are toys, nor that they are made for children like the others
dollly_unaykorn soooo I would still play with em.
This Little weirdo Is Jayla Me too
Omo. I died at when she said "Taeyang"
ㅋㅋㅋㅋ same!
I’m a Muslim,, and I had some Islamic dolls, and my favorite doll was my Amina, she had black hair, a pink hijab, and a beautiful cloth gossamer dress. I loved it so much I took it EVERYWHERE
My favorite was the living barbie which was the last one I got before not playing with them anymore....movable joints etc...very cool...love the vast variety that they have come out with nowadays
I want a dark skinned Barbie! Like if you agree!
I have 1.
I have 3.
I have 20
No sadly I only have 1 but she’s my fav doll
I'm begging my mom for one she said that their

Queens of Africa
Hello beautiful person that is scrolling through the comments💖🌎x
Keira Kelly awww thanks
Keira Kelly thank you so much!😘
sameXD
Me too!
Keira Kelly Hi! you too!
I looked up the pullip dolls and EXPENSIVE I saw over a 100$ stuff and well just look for yourself
100? THATS SO CHEAP! tell me the website!
I said over and just serch pullip doll that's what I did and I found the official site hope you find it ! :)
kinza yasar
100 is not cheap
kinza yasar Pullips are collector item's not toy, the post expensive cost 1 700$ but most of them cost around 130$ (sorry for my english)
for a pullip? it is! They are very pricey dolls
Pullip were not made to be South Korean Barbie dolls. They're part of the fast-growing family of customizable ball-jointed dolls; they are not generally kept as toys, but as collectibles by doll artists who enjoy dressing and repainting them to pose for pictures. A product that would be a much closer comparison would be the Blythe dolls. if you check out Pullip dolls for sale, you will often see the age bracket listed as 15+.
Pullip dolls are so cute!
I like the african ones :3
Me to i agree
ya
Same
They should make a Filipino Barbie Doll!
Emily A my grandma has a barbie doll thats made in the philippines
My fave doll I had was my Barbie doll that came in a wheelchair
That must be a beautiful one 😇
OMG I want one! Where did you get it?
noriwon wen I was a little girl I built a little wheel chair out of sticks n string n tape for my favorite doll n used some wheels from an old poly pocket motercycle and bike. It was kinda neat
Me too
I want that doll her name was becky and she was the school photografer watch my froggy stuff to Found out more
Omg I'm OBSESSED with Sailor Moon!
I adore the recycled ones. I love them all really..so much positivity and creativity..but the recycled ones are kind of a stand out to me.too many toys end up in landfill. It's a great solution!
My favourite doll is a hair color change doll, I don't really play dolls now, but this doll is really cool, she comes with three hair colors and some extensions to change her hair color, she also comes with a bunch of accessories and a cute space dress. There are two types of it, a black skin one and a light skin, I have the light skin doll. This doll inspired many kids the first time they played with it! Its also very easy to change the hair color unlike some other dolls!
" Licca chan" It's pronounce as Li-ka chan ^^
All of these dolls are beautiful
Who else wants a South Korean pullip doll?
Miss. Shrewd me
Me.ther so cute
ME✋✋
Miss. Shrewd they are expensive
Miss. Shrewd it creepy😱
If its a doll that isn't Barbie brand then its not a barbie
anapanda 123 so the Mattel doll is NOT a barbie? It's a Mattel?
anapanda 123 I think they either used barbie in the video title to get more views or to mean a hand-held doll typically meant for kids. I get your point though.
anapanda 123 Yeahhh, they probably believe that all dolls are barbie a or something aha
Right xd
u forget *INDIAN* Barbi with sari 😊😊

I think the Arabian dolls are gorgeous
I’m older so I don’t play with barbies but the second it came out I got a curvy Barbie with blonde hair I love her sm even tho I’m a twig with brown hair and she looks nothing like me she’s one of my favorites I also like the black one with purple hair my sister got there both so beautiful
NOOO!! Pullips are for photographing not for playing they are not toys!
*Watches Likka-Chan bit*
Me: Oh, those are cool!
Video: Legend says if you throw away your Likka-Chan, it will come back for revenge.
Me: NOOOOOOO! I'M OUT!
XD im out too
Lol meet me outside
I know what video that’s from. Okie
Also the way you spelt that triggered me.
People should definitely make a bald barbie for people with cancer or an illness 🙏🥺
The Barbie company already released bald dolls. They even include wheelchairs in a different set. They are very beautiful.

bruh I'm Muslim but I'm from Pakistan and in Pakistan most of the dolls don't Have hijabs
Abbas Shah lol😂
Even in Saudi Arabia, we have plenty of Barbies and all the Disney princesses are sold in stores - no hijab - these videos exaggerate the strictness of Saudi Arabia
is it true that life is really tough there, especially for women? really sucks because in islam women and men are equal
mathsisdeadtomenow, not everything you hear from these channels and media is true. Yes, women don't drive cars - an issue that will be solved with time - however, women are educated, they have jobs, they can go out of their houses without a man - unlike what some shit media tries to tell you - women can go anywhere they want: to malls, amusement parks, restaurants, gym, schools, universities, comedy shows, bowling .... etc whenever they want. For driving we have Uber and Kareem, we call they're at the door of our houses in two minutes and they charge very few Riyals
Women in Saudi Arabia are doctors, scientists, businessmen, authors, poets, actresses, teachers, principals, business owners
Women can own lands, buy houses, live alone in Saudi Arabia
Women live a much better life in Saudi Arabia than so many women in poor countries
The main issue women face is the male guardian, 'cause all of what I
mentioned above can only happen when her male guardian is a good person and most Saudi men are good people, however, some fathers/husbands are jerks and women suffer because of that
Once we get rid of male guardians, I'd consider my life perfect. As there are things in other countries I am very glad we do not have like drinking, drugs, gambling and prostitution
mathsisdeadtomenow Ikr I just hate it. Supposedly women have to cover up almost their whole body but for men, the can roam around without a shirt on if they'd like
*click the red subscribe button*

Wut?!?
I loved my barbies every little girl should have Barbie, and her friends.
9:36 that's why I don't buy creepy dolls
same
Pullips aren't even close to being barbies. They can't even be compared. The only thing that are similar are the fact that they're dolls.
I love pullips!
I love the Momppy and Mpoppy dolls from South Africa 🇿🇦 I want one now 😍❤️❤️👍🏽
Me too
My dad got me a fulla doll once as a kid and they are actually pronounced full`lah, after the arabic word فلة meaning flower :)
They are not only sold in Saudi Arabia and Egypt because my dad got me one from Qatar :)))))
Yes! Finally, I thought if they were pronouncing my precious Licca dolls wrong and spreading a little misinformation it must of happened with the other dolls.
I am Muslim and im from egypt and i like the islamic dolls

Hello or 언녕 I am korean too I actually prefer Lina Chou Chou bgd dolls.
I am from Ireland and I have never heard of a Lottie dolls
Lily Porter so am I but I’ve heard of then
They are NOT Irish dolls! My daughter has five or six of them. They are cute and fun little dolls, but not Irish in origin. Sorry... wish I could credit the great country of Ireland, but I sadly can’t.
Cassandra Darby they are my mam works at the company they were originally created in Ireland but people started to sell them all over the world
Brianna Hogan You know what, I’m sorry they are. Letterkenny Ireland. My apologies.
Cassandra Darby it’s not a problem
Different dolls not different 'Barbie' dolls. Unless they're Mattel- made and Barbie labeled, then they're technically not official Barbies.
6:47 good lord the features are just...❤️❤️❤️
