Amazing to see all the people who are on a set and what they do. It isn't always the easiest thing to do, since there is a lot of setting up and waiting around. Having worked on them, I know.
@@MrWoodhaven11421 Were you in the film as BG? I have a friend who was, but you can't see him clearly. It's the shot with Carbone being found dead in the meat truck. Never mind my question, I see you answered it already with someone else.
Thanks for the memories. I lived 3 blocks away on 88th. Ave. and 75th. St. We watched all of this being filmed. The person whose house they used across the street from Neir's for a base for the actors must have lots of stories to tell.
Very cool. I remember when they filmed on Grand Ave in Maspeth, Queens. That's the place where they filmed the Billy Batts scene at the long gone Spartan's Restaurant.
These folks are magicworkers. So many pictures massively screw up period settings by not knowing enough about it to do it right, geneaicizing the thing into a halloween costume, or just straight up not paying attention. But you watch Goodfellas and you really believe it was shot over all those years, not just a usual production cycle. They got it SO right and paid such impeccable attention to the details that really make or break the thing and made sure the variety that really exists is there. Not to mention TWO of the same Coupe DeVilles as one of mine. This movie really lets the car shine, and I'm so glad for that because not often does one of my fave Caddies get to. My '77 Sedan DeVille, ironically enough, has a similar paintjob to the '79 Coupe DeVille Louis Cafora got for his wife. Factory Jennifer Blue, but I've had my fill of blue cars and its a passion build from a $500 find that i've already had the engine rebuilt for. My actual '79 Coupe DeVille meanwhile got a SuperFly makeover. Yes I got two, i wasn't kidding when I said I love the 1977-'79 Cadillacs. Anyways absolutely delightful to get this glimpse behind the curtain, thanks a bunch for sharing!
That A.D. left of the door, cuing each couple to enter at 4:14 was critical to the rhythm of the scene we watched in the final cut as DeNiro welcomed the first couple, then perfectly timed, admonished what he saw with the next couple entering.
