One of announcer voice lines for the ct's is "remove any doubts in your heads, it's us or them" Suggesting that the operatives have mixed feelings about what they're doing
Also the voiceline from the SAS Officers saying: "This isn't a killing house anymore, this is real life!" May I remind you that inside of the Phoenix Facility ( Operation Broken Fang) there was a whole area that looked VERY similar to Bombsite B on Mirage? They actually re-build the bombsites inside their facilities to train Retakes and/ or to Defend the Bombsite. Not sure if this "training" only applies to The Phoenix, bit the SAS voiceline suggests differently...
Honestly i thought the lore was "terrorists are attacking and bombing many parts of the world and those countries getting attacked are sending their best people for this one counter terrorism task force" and that probably was the story.....For CS 1.6 and CSS
I didnt even think it was a task force. I just assumed it was a series of isolated incidents from several different terrorist, police, and military organizations.
The guy used the isolated stories of the operations that are lossely related with the main game to make a 20min video with a click bait title to gather views
So cobble and train were ACTUALLY removed because of hidden csgo lore and not because valve decided "screw these 2 maps in particular". Now we just need to find out what happened to cache 🤣

Counter-Strike has been around for so long that at one point I thought "counter-terrorists" were simply soldiers who employed terrorism against other terrorists.
Something really interesting to note is that the lore for many of the Agents of the T-side do suggest that their interests (if not neutral) can easily overlap with the "greater themes" of the T and CT sides; the leader of the Elite Crew, Mr. Muhlik, is a rich heir in a monarchy, but is looking to overthrow local political powers for his own interests. the Guerilla Warfare group dislikes western influences, especially tourism, and is willing to take hostages and engage lethal force. Phoenix is obvious. The other factions, like the Separatists (name makes interest obvious), Professionals (hired mercs), and Sabre (gangsters and criminals), all can easily integrate with Valeria's primary goals.

It's not something that Valve will be pointing out. Valve generally writes their lore super vague to make the reader use their imagination rather than spoonfeed the fun stuff to them. See Dota 2's lore for instance.

Something I would love to hear you go over is something that I have noticed still happening a lot in cs. Boostin lobbies and services. All I know about this is I have randomly come across lobbies where we have 5 enemies most often in premier and once the game starts the whole enemy team starts leaving and joining making the rouns go by in seconds. Another version of this is boosting groups fixing matches so they only face each other and no-one else. I've had this happen multiple times where either 5 of the enemies do not accept and this goes on and on as long as we que to that map. Alternatively we rarely get paired with 5 bots with similiar random names and exact same ping and they all just afk the game.
I also noticed XP farming on gamemodes like demolition or flying scoutsmans where they kick everybody on their own team and have a bot wallhack aimbot everything. From usually russian boosting services just to boost your service medal. Also what servers do you play on to get those types of lobbies?
@@FemboyFishing Mainly Eu comp on gn2-mge ranks. Also noticed that I only get these boosters when I am playing with a stack of friends, never in a soloque.
I'm definitely dumb but how are national armed forces being allowed to fight for a private company as mercs? They have ST6, SAS, GIGN, GSG9 equipment and likely training. Wouldn't they at least need contracts with the teams respective governments or at the very least condoning governments?
Most likely retired special forces personel. Just like Blackwater (Academi) hiring ex vets for its forces. Plus its not hard to get equipment if you just know the right people or have enough money.
@@envadeh Governments do worse on a far larger scale. Private mercenaries are shielded from litigation because they serve governmental interests as a proxy group.
Dust 2's lore wasn't about freedom first. It was Palestinians and Jews fighting for the Middle-Eastern lands but it was laterly changed because of ovbious political reasons.
I would love an animated movie about the full story. It would be sick if they combined the story with fight scenes on the actuall cs maps. Maybe u could even work some iconic esoprt moments like nikos deag in there
so I'm not the only human being who thought about how weird some of the lines the operator says in the game, i even asked people, googled it, but the fact that u put all of this information into this video, wants me to dig even more into this.
I just made myself breakfast and he pulls up with a banger video. Honestly i got really curious now as to what is the whole goal of the fighting conflicts that happen in csgo between the ts and the cts
"Valeria is NOT a psychopath" Clearly you never heard her say Imogen's name in that creepy manner during the mission like I have back in the day (specifically when your in the APC)
I wish CS:GO would have a Campaign of some sorts. From what I understand (correct me if I'm wrong) you can't play the co-op missions normally, you have to use console. The operations have already laid a base for a story, so imagine a full blown campaign about it. Something kinda like Portal 2's Co-op mode. Or if they can improve the AI enough, single player, with AI partners. Imagine it, playing as Phoenix or SWAT members. You either have to defend a hostage from an army of FBI agents. Or you and your FBI pal's having to find out how to attack the terrorist's and save the hostage. CS:GO has amazing graphics, so large levels, with a mild interesting story, I think that would be awesome.
I love that in this lore, which has anti capitalist elements, the hinted bad guys are a big corporate gang that rage war. And the game is CS:GO, with one of the biggest markets and scam economies there is. Lovely
putting dialogue and unseen character names in item descriptions to tell the games lore is exactly how dark souls did it, great storytelling and it makes whoeevers interested dig for any amount of info
TBH some of the maps, the CTS has pretty good reasons to defend with, such as dust2 with the IDF on the CT side (I think CTS on dust 2 are Israelites because they are wearing the iconic Mitznefet :) ) just like Zeus said defending humanitarian supplies or Bank since it's basically cop vs robbers and SAS could be seen most of the maps because they are military SF so the present of them are still reasonable. But I have to admit some locations are weird such as cache with the location take place in Chernobyl Power Plant and Ancient as well which take place in central America, but the GIGN (the French Swat basically) are defending it. Maybe Valve is just too lazy to add more CT models? Or there is something 🐟y going on ?
I was thinking about doing a lore video too a while ago… never started because too much effort. But 1 thing I had in mind, maybe you can find more information in the weapon skin descriptions, I can’t recall it anymore but I think there are some with some info. But tbh I don’t think it will be too much anyway Nice vid 👍🏻
That's some good stuff, I always loved the item descriptions mentioning the lore and characters, it's not some groundbreaking stuff and let's be real most people didn't care back when there was a lot more of it in operations with things like comics and voiced messages, but it's still cool Valve does something like this for counter strike. I guess it just doesn't work as well as in Dota and TF2 I guess which is why a lot less people care about it
These islands seem to also have technology used by the US government, most notably the big white domes which are Doppler Radars used by the National Weather Service and US Military (both of which are government agencies). Could be a stretch to say the government is involved, but its worth looking into.
Interesting that the CT's are still modelled after real-life government special forces, though it's probably because the models and voice acting predate the story arc. Since they're equal in number and skill to the T's and have such non-standard equipment, I think there's two possibilities: 1. The government is in on this scheme. The Coalition is able to delegate high-end special forces teams on a whim and also controls their weapon procurement. They're equal to the terrorists, so either their recruitment and training standards have gone down the toilet, or the Phoenix have the connections to get their guys trained to the level of SEAL teams. Maybe the T's just caught the CT's on a bad day, and the numbers thing is just because the T's are hitting multiple places at once and spreading each other thin. (e.g. Inferno only shows one part of the battle in that town, and maybe the rest of the team is off responding to diversions.) The unlikeliness of this means that I believe more in my second theory. 2. The government only looks the other way, mostly. The Coalition dresses up private military contractors in the uniforms and insignia of their country's special forces, either as a false-flag thing or -- more likely -- to simply get credibility and trust with local troops and/or civilians. While there will still be people to bribe, this reduces the total attention that the Coalition receives. This would explain how more rag-tag groups like the Separatists of Inferno and Anarchists of Office can match the Coalition dudes and also explains their unorthodox weapons. Finally, it explains their small teams -- especially in co-op -- as they're basically Men In Black stripping the site of incriminating or valuable stuff before the actual local forces get there. Booth supplying both teams tells me that he's been contracted to give eachother the tools to destroy themselves. Bear with me further, as I have two additional theories about the overall power balance between Phoenix and the Coalition 1. The Phoenix are not actually a threat in the long term, but make for useful foes to fear monger about. Kreigeld's connection to them is his attempt to undercut the competition by collaborating with Phoenix, which is giving the Coalition's employers an excuse to steal assets from his company while genuinely combating Phoenix. Both the Coalition's PMCs and Phoenix are expected to mutually destroy each other (with some help from outside forces) ultimately covering up the whole scandal and making the Coalition's owners that much wealthier. 2. Phoenix is a threat, but the government is unwilling/unable to combat them, perhaps due to a lack of interest with voters or in parliament/congress/whatever. The Coalition is being sent in for genuinely good reasons, but is taking a little off the top by seizing Kreigel's company. The Coalition are ultimately meant to destroy Phoenix, but may also be led into some sort of nefarious act, such as a false-flag attack to drum up support for a continued war on terror. Whoever is coordinating this obviously wants it hush-hush, however, so the conflict will ultimately be covered up.

In a era where respawn is releasing background of every legend. riot is releasing background of every agent. It helps us to connect with the characters.
valve will never do this. so thanks to you for doing this.
It's not something that Valve will be pointing out. Unlike Riot, they want their lore to have intrigue and mystery while Riot is announcing on the Loudspeakers about their Agent's story and the game's lore unlike Valve who made all of this story from the ground up waiting for someone to finally discover in and connect the dots after about 10 years
@@sampiedbrickstudios6623 I wouldnt give valve that much credit, its not dark souls, the story isnt there and waiting to be pieced together, its just in pieces, you cant make any definitive conclusions about a lot of things
@@g76agi it's like in half life, everything is there, but you are the one who has to piece it together. There are so many little details in those games that you can find just by replaying them. I think that at first, valve didn't really care about something like that in csgo, but from the train remake onwards the idea is definitely there.
Valve generally writes their lore super vague to make the reader use their imagination rather than spoonfeed the fun stuff to them. See Dota 2's lore for instance.
Except they already did.. Ever heard of tf2? Meet the spy meet the pyro etc.
Fantastic video heyzeus! I’ve been wanting to watch a video about csgo’s lore for a long time now but haven’t found a single one yet, until now! Thank you
Glock Franklin has my favorite lore message "Money doesn't talk... it kills"
I have already saw this story like 5 years ago from Gabe Follewer, but you did a great job anyways. Ty for the vid
Why is this guy sounding like he's gonna show me the top 10 best Fortnite Emotes or smth
Finally a proper lore explanation!
I've been trying to find out about all these things but can't get a grab of things
Hey!... I miss your old intro.
Short and to the point. Screw that dude who said something about your intro.
I'm still going to watch, but can't wait for s video to start of the old way again, maybe just do it as a throw back
It always made me feel happy and your voice was on point!
cant wait to see more hidden messages in the skins, for the next operation, shits gonna be wild
I'd be so into CSGO if it had more of those co-op missions or even a full length campaign or something
So Valeria is basically The Administrator from TF2.
Also what servers do you play on to get those types of lobbies?
ive noticed this too recently, started appearing about 2-3 months ago, but havent seen them in a while
@@FemboyFishing Mainly Eu comp on gn2-mge ranks. Also noticed that I only get these boosters when I am playing with a stack of friends, never in a soloque.
It really sucks that operations don’t have this lore stuff anymore. I was especially disappointed that riptide didn’t even have co op mission
so basically the CTs are a mercenary while Ts are the justice heroes
True and based
@@envadeh Nah they're both based (mercenary grindset)
Now this is the video I’ve been waiting for, I’ve been trying to find an explanation for all the bits of story from the coop levels.
This happens in real life and it's disgusting, these corporations do a lot of war crimes.
@@envadeh Governments do worse on a far larger scale. Private mercenaries are shielded from litigation because they serve governmental interests as a proxy group.
Private military contracts. People from offical armed forces go into it all the time.
PMCs are a thing bro... Wagner, Blackwater
As long as someone understands the lore, they can release the next operation
Dust 2's lore wasn't about freedom first. It was Palestinians and Jews fighting for the Middle-Eastern lands but it was laterly changed because of ovbious political reasons.
Valve has a thing for neutral arms dealers
I was thinking that someone should point these out for years! Glad that someone finally did it.
When cs is more Tom Clancy than r6 siege lol
I just now realised that CT really stands for Coalition Taskforce
And T stands more Teabaggers
this dude sound like if new zealand was a cartoon fish
Heyzeus that was a totally bloody awsome breakdown of the story line of csgo, I wonder what operation broken fang and riptide gave to the story line?
And hydra
I would love an animated movie about the full story. It would be sick if they combined the story with fight scenes on the actuall cs maps. Maybe u could even work some iconic esoprt moments like nikos deag in there
Came for the lore, stayed for the runescape music
so I'm not the only human being who thought about how weird some of the lines the operator says in the game, i even asked people, googled it, but the fact that u put all of this information into this video, wants me to dig even more into this.
CSGO 2 coming out of nowhere. I see all the lore hunters going remove all the smokes to inspect every pixel out of those textures
I just made myself breakfast and he pulls up with a banger video. Honestly i got really curious now as to what is the whole goal of the fighting conflicts that happen in csgo between the ts and the cts
now this is content. Never even think about the lore when playing
idk why but this video made me wanna replay all the missions on GTA V for some reason...
Just saw your short and asked myself what the lore is nice man the short was very interesting
"Valeria is NOT a psychopath"
Clearly you never heard her say Imogen's name in that creepy manner during the mission like I have back in the day (specifically when your in the APC)
Counter Strike Condition Zero: Deleted Scenes pretty much.
Syrians vs CIA
Lore solved
This was great to watch, nice work! Would love to see more stuff like this.
Critical support to comrade valeria
I love that in this lore, which has anti capitalist elements, the hinted bad guys are a big corporate gang that rage war.
And the game is CS:GO, with one of the biggest markets and scam economies there is.
Lovely
Finally! Been waiting for a vid on CSGO lore
In this timeline the CT's are so powerful they overthrew the soviets by themselves in 1985.
That OSRS music in the background with the mystic vibes lov it
Him: "the information is on the computer
The computer: "CHICKEN VS CAT"
Thank god, someone finally did this
Flexing that five-seven
Jesus christ your voice is really hard to not notice while watching this
Thank you I thought I was the only one.
He is out here giving material to make a historical skin for the next case
putting dialogue and unseen character names in item descriptions to tell the games lore is exactly how dark souls did it, great storytelling and it makes whoeevers interested dig for any amount of info
WOW! Finally someone who explains the backstory behind Counter-Strike! Please keep it up! I'm digging on this.
M4A4 Coalition prices skyrocketing after this video in 3... 2... 1...
It would be so cool to see a film with the csgo plot
CSGO writers working hard on the story:💀
The average CSGO player that doesn’t even know the game has lore:🗿
The most interesting CSGO video ive seen in months, honestly.
"humanitarian" supplies for israelis? Lmao 💀🤡
so I was playing as a jew on dust2 the whole time???
@@wirmaple7336 every CT on dust deserves the molly
Weird, why are they SAS soldiers now then?
@@wirmaple7336 could be an arab or druze israeli
Now i know why my last teamate does not defuse the bomb. He is pheonix's spy.
Keen to hear more lore heyzeus, keep up the awesome content :)
Watching this felt like an hour
I was thinking about doing a lore video too a while ago… never started because too much effort. But 1 thing I had in mind, maybe you can find more information in the weapon skin descriptions, I can’t recall it anymore but I think there are some with some info. But tbh I don’t think it will be too much anyway
Nice vid 👍🏻
That's some good stuff, I always loved the item descriptions mentioning the lore and characters, it's not some groundbreaking stuff and let's be real most people didn't care back when there was a lot more of it in operations with things like comics and voiced messages, but it's still cool Valve does something like this for counter strike. I guess it just doesn't work as well as in Dota and TF2 I guess which is why a lot less people care about it
Gotta love the RuneScape music in the background
inb4 phoenix skin starts going up in price
My man out here doing his own VNN
The CT are mercenaries? I hope scout from tf2 makes an appearance or a cameo. He's the only one whose can canonically still be alive during csgo.
"Ayo whats up" as scout double jumps onto B site mirage and throws milk at the Ts rushing Aps.
@@felobatirmoheb4884 80 year old scout running around with a scattergun yelling racially charged slurs at the terrorists of color.
These islands seem to also have technology used by the US government, most notably the big white domes which are Doppler Radars used by the National Weather Service and US Military (both of which are government agencies). Could be a stretch to say the government is involved, but its worth looking into.
This truly adds another layer to TTT
Super interesting video! Love this style of content
Interesting that the CT's are still modelled after real-life government special forces, though it's probably because the models and voice acting predate the story arc. Since they're equal in number and skill to the T's and have such non-standard equipment, I think there's two possibilities:
Bear with me further, as I have two additional theories about the overall power balance between Phoenix and the Coalition
Whoever is coordinating this obviously wants it hush-hush, however, so the conflict will ultimately be covered up.
we needed this from years man
