Thank you, I thought my dogwood tree was dead. She had a bunch of dead limbs at the end and we cut that part off. I did your test and the limbs left bended and had green. I was so happy. 😄. Fingers are crossed she gets some buds, nothing yet. We just planted her last fall so its a baby tree.
I waited until August for a Caryopteris to show signs of life. It never did and did not even send up new shoots. Had to dig it up and get rid of it after having it for over 20 years. Not sure if it was just a case of dying from old age or an unusual cold snap of heavy wet snow in April did it in.
I have a potted rosemary and there’s a bad winter rn and my normally gorgeous green rosemary looks kinda rough like it’s drooping and stuff hasn’t lost leaves though does that mean it’s dead or should I wait?
I have a peach tree that is dry from about 2 feet up from the ground to the top but has shoots at the bottom, how do I prune it or can I cut it down to the base to where it’s dead?
I transplanted a queen crêpe myrtle a week and a half ago I’ve been watering every day it lost all its leaves. Still bends Wondering how long it will take to see how long before it shows new buds . Thanks does anyone know?
I'm in south michigan. I got clippings from trumpet tree last yr and it grew good. Cut it back in oct and put in dark bedroom for winter. Brought it out april watered and put on porch. In May this yr I put it in the ground. It looks dead. I just don't. I water it hoping something starts to grow. But nothing. How will I know to give up hope???? Thanks
I have an apple tree in my back yard that bloomed last year and had tons of apples. This year the apple were only at the top of the tree and they didn’t mature. I’m pretty sure the tree is dead but I’m going to do the test. Thank you!
@@user-cc4kq6hl4c so I did the test! It was green! I never got any apples last year because of the birds. This year the tree is green full of leaves, it’s too early to know if the apples will come but the tree seems to be doing just fine this year.
amazin video!!! ques4u sir, great job!i thumbed it. listen need ur help, i have a dying fig tree from the texas frost this year, with brittle black end branches like yours, however, there is a 2 foot sucker spurint from my 4 yr old CELESTE tree, about 1 foot off the base of it, what do i do with it, disconnect it and root it in a pot? also, what do i do with the original tree? THANK YOU!
I live in the high desert so my yard is landscape with cactus. What else can I put on my front yard to give it color when the rest of the plants are cactus what would you do? Thank you.
Crepe myrtles are almost NEVER dead around here. It tools us years to finally get rid of one that was too close to the house. It kept popping up again near the original spot.🤨
This last winter with all the hard rains here in Los Angeles, CA (and possible gopher(s) as the main culprit), my rather large Barbados Cherry tree fell over. I didn't straighten it back upright in time, and as a result it started to wither. After stabilizing it and 2-3 months later without any leaves nor any sign of new growth, other than the cambium layer being green, I had pruned it a second time (just a little more due to the cambium layer being green a little lower now). Any advice would be of great help, as I'm clueless on what to do from here. I've fed with fish & kelp emulsion, as well as humic acid and Superthrive... Still nothing, but the cambium is still green a little lower now. Is it slowly dying off? I'm almost wanting to pull the plug on it. But I also want to give it its time if there's any chance left. I just don't want to waste it's space and since it's about mid-spring already, I don't want to miss out on planting something in it's space and also lose out on time/this growing season. I'm probably going to plant 2 different fig types in its spot. Please help... Thanks!
I’m going to give her some more time just like you suggested. Time & Prayer (and Love)

In the case of the second plant with dead branches, is there a way of inspecting the roots to determine if they are alive?

I have a dwarf peach that is the same, dead branches everywhere and now at very bottom a few new shoots. Wondering,do I cut off all of the dead?
If it’s grafted you need to make sure the new shoots aren’t coming from below the graft.

i promised my mom that i would take care of this plant to prove that I can take care of something and here I am
You can use woodglut to build it in the cheapest way.
Great video, thank you!
