Yes, the benefits of living in a van certainly out way the negatives, many people opt to stay safe, locked in their comfort zone, programmed to keep working, paying the bills, and patiently waiting for the golden years to arrive, but never really experience true living. For me, a big positive of van life is getting out of the ‘system’, and as much as possible living truly independently. 👍
Thanks Dee! I always appreciate your perspective and this one resonates with so many of us who can or could benefit from simplicity. I come alive when I get to experience nature and don’t have to deal with clutter either physical or mental. So many opportunities to decompress and just be. Even though there are many things to contend with in any given situation, so much better to deal with them in freedom. Thanks again friend. Enjoying our WEEKLY visits through your videos.

Wonderful video that hit the nail on the head. Great job, Dee! The biggest benefits for me , personally, are mental health and education. Add your five benefits, and it all adds up to an incredible daily experience. I meet amazing people along the way. Tonight is a van life meet up on Fiesta Island here in San Diego with a DJ and a live band. It should be a blast! One of the benefits you mentioned was the change of scenery, the freedom to change your backyard as often as you wish...or to remain in that same place you've come to love. I document my travels on Facebook, and the decision to live the nomadic lifestyle is one I shall never regret.
Y’all, this lady speaks the truth. The good, the bad and the ugly. All of her videos are very informative. And she just seems to have the most precious soul. Happy trails little lady!
Have you ever thought about some property to circle back to and call home base? Roll on and enjoy the adventure. Your van will always be a rolling home! 😎
Hey Dee! BEST video yet IMHO. I am still with you because from the day I found you on YT I have found you totally relatable. I used my heat gun today to seal wires and get a big smile knowing the sun is replacing the energy I used from my batteries. I may not have realized all van life has to offer yet but am happy to know it all is attainable in time. Thank you!

The squirrel thanks you for making him the first Tiny Red Van Fan despite missing his last payment due to unexpected expenses. Maybe the algorithm will like the number of nut jokes this might cause. This was a nice recap of what you have learned about van life. Not one detail a long-time viewer doesn't already know, but it's nice to hear an update of your perspective on it all. Details can always be learned by trial and error, but a dreamer or newcomer seeing one perspective that their own might evolve to, is very valuable. It might cut months off their struggle phase, or save them a big pile of money, or convince them to hit the road sooner rather than later, and with more confidence. For me, there is the added benefit of just loving hearing your voice, seeing your smiling face, and being entranced by your demeanor. I doubt that I'm alone in appreciating seeing any new video you post, because I can be sure my day will be better, even if it's already really good. My own day has been great, due to spending part of it researching all the alternatives of where to scoot to if the weather turns bad where I plan to view the April 8 total solar eclipse in Texas. Google Maps and the Jubier 2024 interactive eclipse map have both been getting a workout from me.
I worked as a long haul truck driver in Canada and USA. Well. My company and house was in Canada but I delivered goods all across North America. 3 weeks on the road, 3 days at home. So I do know what living in a small space means. Now that I live in Panama, I mostly sit outside the house. My girlfriend has always a discussion with me about that. “I don’t like to sit inside. I did this for years, living in a small place. I need air!” That’s how I feel about it. Building my house, I know where my main space will be. Right. Outside. 😊
Excellent! As you say, and you are spot on, van life makes you aware of your environmental responsibilities, including water use, power and waste. Good stuff, thanks!
So far im on day 10 of van life.when quartzite gets too hot i will head north somewhere.i just retired 4 months ago and with my social security and medicare im better off than when i was working and paying out all my money for rent,utilities,etc..i always keep atleast 3 weeks of canned food in the van just for peace of mind..

Great points! As a part time traveler I haven’t had the chance to experience the camaraderie of meeting with other like minded travelers. I’m hoping that will be more likely when I’m able to slow down and spend more time. I also hope to join in more gatherings down the road. My adventures tend to be constantly moving as I try to fit in as much as I can on a break!
I think that happens a lot…it has taken a while for me to settle into it as a ‘lifestyle’ so it seems natural to me that if you are limited in time, you’re going to want to do more and see more 😝
Hi from New Zealand, I am also living the van life and absolutely love it. I can relate to your sense of experiencing true living. Life is what you make it and feel comfortable with. Enjoy the journey.
Thank you for another great video. Even if you are driving, your carbon footprint living in a van or small vehicle is much smaller than in an apartment or house. I have noticed the "Van life" community, uses items up or passes the item on to others. To get something I have to get rid of something because I don't have space to spare. I love that people just accept you the way you are. As a whole monads will pitch in and help rather than criticize. It is such a diverse group and as a group they are kind and grateful. Just like backpacking, I find I am happier with less. Thank you again for your video. Safe travels.

Great video Dee!! I’m just returning to Canada 🇨🇦 from a 2 month Florida trip, 3 meet ups, 2 big ones with ‘Lulu’s way’ and one smaller with ‘Out on a limb with Kym’. For this first time solo trip in my self contained 2002 GMC Safari I fondly call ‘Van Verde’ …it was epic!!! So many new pals, many will be life long!!! The adventures and connections have changed my life. My advice is get out there and give it a try! Warning: it could be addicting!!! Have a great next adventure in your sweet set up and maybe I’ll see you down the road somewhere. Cheers Debbie 🇨🇦 ❤😊❤
I don't live tiny, but I want to live like I do. (It's not huge either; less than 900 sq ft) I use the plug in lights that are light activated in my rooms (from Dollar Tree), so I never really have to turn on the overhead lights because there is generally enough brightness (they provide a faint glow) and that is all I need. I don't keep water running unnecessarily. Thanks! Dee! Have a blessed day and a fabulous week!! xxoo
YES!!!! Being aware of what I use and what waste I create has been something on my radar for quite a while before I started travelling in my van, but it’s become even more of a focus and awareness. When you have such a small space, no plumbing, and a limited supply of water, you are suddenly _very_ aware of how much waste you create and how much of your available resources you’re using.
You are inspirational! Although, I have a husband, 5 year old, 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs....I don't think I'm ready for vanlife in this point and time. Maybe someday in the future. Never say never 🙃
Love all your videos Ms Dee, this one hit home with me especially on the good for your soul When the rat race and insanity of modern society and the craziness with it I find myself along a riverbank, creek bank, long walk in as secluded woods as possible You are very right, The very best medicine for mind, body, spirit and soul❤️ I’m so happy for you and your being able to live and fulfill your ongoing dream😃 You are truly a wonderful beautiful soul in todays world😃 Thank you again for wonderful video and always be you, that’s why we love you Take care, keep safe, safe travels and see you next time👍🏻🙏🏻😃☺️❤️

Wonderful episode as usual Dee💜 Mobile life is certainly something else entirely. The feelings experienced in the course of daily living bring a palpable existentialism to being human and alive on the planet. The freedom from a rote, “normal” life in Western culture is replaced by finding out what’s really important beyond the mores of a system based upon, “whomever dies with the most toys wins.” This life is a blessing available which you didn’t realize, until you live it. 🌿
I have gained so much confidence building my trailer myself...there is definitely something to be said about being able to rely on yourself and work the problem. I am also a better person from all the like minded individuals I have meet on the road, including you🤗
You rock lady 🐞 out and when you said I’ve learned more about compost toilets than you thought you would …… the look on your face 🤣🤣🤣 it was so funny …. Very cute but 😂😊…. Happy travels …. You know throughout the past five or six years in our van I’ve had about 4 different toilet things ….. in our road trip van …. And we don’t live it and that cracks me up too but my bed is comfy 🤣🤣🤣 I love your videos me and Michael always watch and you have a wonderful day too much hugs from Tehachapi 🇺🇸

@@LadyBugout hopefully most times not literally in your face.
Except maybe when you try your own filtered urine. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great video agree with everything you said.
Yep…if you know, you know☺️
You are inspirational! Although, I have a husband, 5 year old, 2 dogs and 2 guinea pigs....I don't think I'm ready for vanlife in this point and time. Maybe someday in the future. Never say never 🙃
Thank you. Yeah… that’s a lot! Exactly, never say never ☺️
Love all your videos Ms Dee, this one hit home with me especially on the good for your soul
When the rat race and insanity of modern society and the craziness with it
I find myself along a riverbank, creek bank, long walk in as secluded woods as possible
You are very right,
The very best medicine for mind, body, spirit and soul❤️
I’m so happy for you and your being able to live and fulfill your ongoing dream😃
You are truly a wonderful beautiful soul in todays world😃
Thank you again for wonderful video and always be you, that’s why we love you
Take care, keep safe, safe travels and see you next time👍🏻🙏🏻😃☺️❤️

Oh man! I can imagine that would be a little tooooooo much 😜
Thanks again ! :) YYEs it was too much, nad harder to find spots to park it. Mini Vans for me, as I have had them since Girls were little back in 1985:) ENJOY and TAKE CARE! :)@@LadyBugout
Oh, and that little squirrel at the end was sooooooo cute!!
I know…right?!?! 🐿️
@@LadyBugout Did you just happen to be sitting quietly when it came along? Or waiting for it? Or just zoom right in? I’m intrigued because we don’t have squirrels in Australia!
Lol…squirrels are a dime a dozen here. And if you are still, they just do their thing and you can watch😜
@@LadyBugout I think squirrels to you lot are maybe kind of like bin chickens (ibis) to us: they’re an interesting creature, but they’re kind of all over the place. Hehe.

I'm a new subscriber that's glad I ran across your channel.
Thumbs up!😎👍
I’m glad too. Welcome to the channel☺️
All 5 excellent benefits are well stated and informative. In particular, I like how you link self-reliance and sustainability. As for opportunity for adventure, I would like to see you do one of your enjoyable day trips in the near future.
Thank you, Frank. Adventure looks pretty routine for me right now. But, I will be sure to take you along on anything interesting😝
@@LadyBugout Sounds great Dee--I will look forward to our interesting adventure!
Wonderful episode as usual Dee💜
Mobile life is certainly something else entirely. The feelings experienced in the course of daily living bring a palpable existentialism to being human and alive on the planet.
The freedom from a rote, “normal” life in Western culture is replaced by finding out what’s really important beyond the mores of a system based upon, “whomever dies with the most toys wins.”
This life is a blessing available which you didn’t realize, until you live it. 🌿
Beautifully said! 🥰
Thanks for your positive vibes
Always! 💃🏻🙌🏼🐞
I have gained so much confidence building my trailer myself...there is definitely something to be said about being able to rely on yourself and work the problem. I am also a better person from all the like minded individuals I have meet on the road, including you🤗
I love your trailer!!!🥰
You rock lady 🐞 out and when you said I’ve learned more about compost toilets than you thought you would …… the look on your face 🤣🤣🤣 it was so funny …. Very cute but 😂😊…. Happy travels …. You know throughout the past five or six years in our van I’ve had about 4 different toilet things ….. in our road trip van …. And we don’t live it and that cracks me up too but my bed is comfy 🤣🤣🤣 I love your videos me and Michael always watch and you have a wonderful day too much hugs from Tehachapi 🇺🇸
I’m glad it gave you a little chuckle. 🤭

@@LadyBugout You’re welcome
I'm trying to help u out opening your vid.sbut some have an ad at the start.
Can u stand up in that one I wonder and what kind IS it? It's a cutie.
It’s a 2019 Ford Transit Connect. No I cannot stand upright in it.
I loved this video so much, Dee. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts and wisdom. 🥰

Gracias 😊
Great video thank you!
Glad you liked it!
What are the boots you wear in the video. Love them. After several foot surgeries I am always on the lookout for good shoes.
i want to know, too😎
They are calked Blundstones. They are real leather so quite expensive, but worth it because they last a long time!!!
@@LadyBugout THANK YOU, for the speedy reply. I remember that you did a video about the clothes you have, I was going to look for that video, too.
Thank you. With foot problems I have found good footwear is worth the investment.
@@LadyBugout just googled, there is a clearance sale and free shipping. I hope they help Augustblue1297, too.
Hi Dee! I’m just beginning to enjoy your posts! I too have a transit and working on it so I can get on the road.
Would you be able to tell me when an upcoming RTR or WRTR 🤷🏻♀️ is happening? I would like to have a date to set my sights on. I don’t even know what those letters stand for!😅
I’m in TN and any event coming up would be so helpful to know about. Thanks so much!
I’m glad you are enjoying the channel. The WRTR stands for women’s rubber tramp rendezvous. They have information under that name if you google it or cheap rvliving! 💃🏻🚗🐞
@@LadyBugout thanks so much!
You have the most beautiful smile❤
Thank you so much😁
Gosh! Another great inspiring video. I have a pile of cash. Do I buy a transit connect or play it safe and just get a new car? Working through much self doubt and fear. Your vids help!
Thank you, Carmen! Sending you good vibes. All in due time🥰
Thanks for another excellent video. I am on the beach at Port Aransas, Texas in my 2010 transit connect. 70 degrees and sunny.
Sounds nice!!!
A few questions Dee: top 3 places you've been? And where would you like to see anywhere in the world?
That is actually a good video idea😝 and soooo difficult to answer!!!
@@LadyBugout I demand answers. 🤣
🤗
What brand boots are those that you wear? I would like to purchase some like your's. Can you help a girl out?
The boots are from www.blundstone.com
Expensive but worth it and last for such a long time. I’d order a 1/2 size to a size up to have room for thicker socks☺️
Great comment, it's so true
