    Thanks for the helpful video showing hard floor cleaning technique. Do you know if it's possible to use other common floor washing chemicals such as diluted flash multi-surface cleaner with George for these tasks? I'd like to try this approach but unsure about using other chemicals in case of hoover damage...

      Hi Joshua, glad it helped you, yes you can use any other product, just read the dosage to water mix and use a bit less than the detergent says, you can always add a bit more

    Hi mate, would you recommend this for large areas of hard flooring/ Amtico over the traditional hoover/mop combo? Do you think it would save time in the long run? Thanks

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not really no, makes the floors too wet and clean up is a pain, even compared to a Bissell Crosswave or a Tineco.

  • @adampoll4977
    @adampoll4977 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The issue I have with Numatics for wet pick-up is the fact that it uses a non by-pass fan - ie, the air from the fan vents through the motor. This means any water or spray goes through the motor windings, brushes, and bearings. The old Vax multi-function canisters used a by-pass fan so it never gets to the motor.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is so true, but I try not to overfoam or let it fill so much, but I do know what you mean.

    I'm debating between this George and a Bissell Crosswave to replace the wet mop system; I have a lot of tile flooring and less carpeting. Would you suggest the Crosswave over the George? Is the Crosswave able to clean the grout at all? I've got two young kids, so I'm looking for something to use regularly... Thanks for the informative videos; they're great! ........... (Also considering Hoover Floormate Deluxe, Hizero, and Tineco, if you have experience with those.)

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Forget the floormate unless all your floors are groutless and completely smooth. Hizero is way too expensive for what it is. George is fab because he is amazing at upholstery, good on hard floors, hard to use for carpets, not very effective on carpets to be fair as it’s straight wet/suction cleaning, plus you’ll have a fab vacuum too, so for multi use, George is best, for just hard floors and rugs, Crosswave is the one. You can’t do rugs with the floormate and neither the Hizero. Forget the Tineco, it’s rubbish. 🤣🤣🤣

      Awesome; thanks for the reply! I bought the Crosswave yesterday and just used my Crosswave for the first time. It's working great! It's so rewarding to see the dirty water, but I'm a little weird like that, lol.
      But I do wish there were a way to modify/hack the dirty water tank to be larger and secure some bristle brushes to the sides for better edge cleaning; any thoughts (I love making things better or custom)!

    • @HooverLux

      Sarah Longenecker I love seeing the dirty water and what it’s picked up too 🤣. I can’t think of anyway to increase the water bottle size, the edge cleaning isn’t amazing, but much better front on than sides.

    Quick question, can I dry vacuum dust in wet mode with a bit of water? I can only presume water is a better filter.. reason I ask is because after using wet mode it takes some time to dry back up for smaller jobs so if it isn’t detrimental to the George I would just vacuum up what I need to with the wet inside components.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      R Begum Unfortunately no, the airflow into the machine does not go directly through the water, some would only rest on the surface and the rest would only have the filter of the mesh bag cloth over the ball float, unfortunately this doesn’t work like a Rainbow vacuum. 😢

      You could add an internal down facing pipe that sides just above the bottom of the tub and then add a 4-6 inches of water to cover the bottom of the pipe. That way the dust/air would be forced to travel through the water.
      Depositing any debris in the water. It would be quite simple to make as I’ve done this before with great results. Used for sanding paint and varnish. Make sure you empty the dirty water/slurry responsibly.
      If you wanted to buy a pre made hoover like this you would want the Rainbow vacuum

    I am still so confused which hoover shall I get? We have a 1bed flat, just about 55sqm. Livingroom and bedroom are carpeted. I am using Hetty at the moment and wanted to swap for George that can shampoo the carpets as well. Thanks to our daughter the carpets got really stained, mostly spilled drinks... it looks gross and I intend to clean the carpets at least quarterly rather than hiring someone I thought would be nice to do it myself on regular basis. I love my Hetty hoover. Would George be still as good as Hetty re normal dry hoovering and be good enough to clean properly the two carpeted rooms + one sofa? I don't want to buy stg. bigger and more expensive and be disappointed after I give it a first try. I checked the Bissell Crosswave but I don't have good experience with this type of cordless hoover. Low capacity and the battery can let you down anytime. And I really need something that does both, dry cleaning and carpet shampooing. There is no space for two machines in my under stairs cupboard. What is your opinion, please?

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey hey 👋, firstly thanks for watching, I really appreciate you comment. Ok, now lol, George is amazing as a dry vac, amazing at upholstery cleaning, house, car etc, but! And this is a big but, he is a hard slog work job at carpet cleaning. No agitation so you’d have to scrub the stain my hand first, the water extraction with the wider carpet nozzle is not as good and leaves the carpets very damp and is just sooooo much hard work. As you have limited space for storing a separate carpet washer like my vax, I could recommend hiring a Rug Doctor every now and then. Or yes a George, but you’ll have a workout with carpet washing 🤣

    • @zdenkarahova3176

    I don’t think wetting a laminate floor this much is a good idea it will eventually start to warp and ruin the floor.Best to stick with tile or linoleum etc.

    • @HooverLux
      @HooverLux  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This laminate is specifically for kitchens and bathrooms, over the 12 years it’s been down and mopped so many ways, had copious amounts of liquids in large quantities spilt on it, it’s still fine, so just to make you aware that laminate flooring comes is many forms my lovely, next time google before you comment 😘

    • @booboo8
      @booboo8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s Ok then.My laminate wasn’t very expensive.And obviously not water resistant in anyway.As even the slightest bit of something wet can cause it to peel/and it has warped over the years.Probably cause I used to use a mop not soaking the floor at all .Just damp not wet wet.And puppy accidents won’t have helped.
      I am aware laminate has improved since Mine was bought and laid.They’re much more resilient nowadays.I forget sometime just how long mine has been down .When I consider how old it is and what it’s endured.All these years.I am surprised it doesn’t look a lot worse.
      Hoping to redo soon.
      I also would like a new hoover and the Henry is appealing to me most.But can’t make up my mind on which one to go for.
