This is the only watch that captured my attention from Watch and Wonders this year. I was really looking forward to something from Grand Seiko, but it was just "another" lake suwa. Thanks for the great commentary.
I couldn’t agree more, the limited hand engraved edition is cool but that’s it not worth a second look really. Thank you so much for the comment I’m so glad you enjoyed the video :) if your new there’s plenty more videos I think are even better!
The Omega 1948 was a 2018 limited edition that sold out years ago - they pop up for sale regularly at a discount. You won’t be getting one from Omega anymore.
What about a watch from the 'Holy Trinity' for a similar price would be 'better than this one'? Also, what do you think a gold bracelet would add to the cost of this watch, if you think it's already too much money?
As a massive fan of Omega (as I know you are) & Scotch Whisky I would highly recommend picking up a bottle of Kilkerran 12yo. It represents the current pinnacle of whisky making without the marketing bullsh*t. Very similar to how Omega positions itself within the watch industry. 👍🏻
@@RipiresReviews the Kilkerran Heavily Peated is a young fiery malt. It is good, but in a elemental no holds barred kinda way. I would try the 12yo first. Think Whisky Exchange have it in stock. 👍🏻
Try the Balvenie for a great single malt scotch 🤌🏻. As far as that watch: there are a lot of dress watches I’d want before this one. They’ll probably add some complications in future 1908s but speaking of numbers, I’d love to have that Omega 1948. Saw one at the Omega boutique in New York and it’s really beautiful in person
Thank you so much for the whiskey advise! i will try get a sample so i can try it on a future video :) Yes i agree the 1948 is a stunning watch, but i think i would get a jlc duoface before the rolex anyday.
The 1908 is a knockout. However I won't be buying one. I'm into sports and tool watches and not dress watches. But I can appreciate its artistry and beauty.
Why would anyone buy a 1908 rather than an a lange & Sohne saxonia a watch that beats the Rolex in every category for approximately the same price, and you can buy a saxonia even though it will be far rarer . I do like the look of the 1908 but for the price nah
It's not the first ever Rolex with a display caseback the Cellini Prince now discontinued was. I wouldn't spend money on this watch when you can get far more for the same money with other brands...think Lange Saxonia
Yes another comment said the same ting, i was not aware before about the prince. Thanks for letting me know. The saxonia is a beautiful watch, great shout :)
😂😅 they won’t make many because I don’t think Rolex is into this movement decorating thing. It’s nothing to write home about if you know anything about watches. It’ll be going in the mid teens us $ on the secondary market next year.
@annkennedy1831 9 minutes ago As a Rolex President owner, I was extremely disappointed in the trash from Rolex. Even Timex would have been ashamed of the emoji wheels! At least the 1908 has some potential.

The Omega looks great but what the hell were they thinking when they covered the movement with air plane/boat picture?
I totally agree! XD
I really wish I liked whisky. Such a classy drink and it seems like there is a cool community around its appreciation
Tbh I think it’s something you can grow into. If you try it with coke first you may then grow fond of it :)
The Cellini Prince, which was available from 2005 through 2015 featured a display caseback as well, so the 1908 isn't the first.
Oh okay i didnt know that, thanks for letting me know :)
Yep. My kind of watch. I agree with u.its clean elegant n classy.
Thank you, I hope you enjoyed the video :)

I know but, there still being sold on omegas website. When speaking with omega they said it’s a email list.

I don’t believe I ever said I needs to be gold :/

Ive found the Kilkerran heavily peated, is that also good?

not sure if it could compete with other similar dress watch brand like piaget and jlc
I suppose we will have to see. I would have a duo face tbh
Awesome for 12k maybe
have you ever seen the side of celliini???? 1908 is not the first one looks like that...overall, so similar to cellini (if you've ever seen one)
I liked the Cellini but I think the 1908 looks better

@@michaelfierman3256 no i haven’t I will check it out :)
I like it.

Both are impossible to get at retail so I guess it’s your choice for whichever fictional watch XD

you wont get a Lange for that price mate!
no! price disqualifies it.
Atemporal y muy bonito. No como sus hermanos
You didnt look like you enjoy Whisky
I do enjoy whisky but I’m new to having it neat
Came for watches got alcohol bye
You came for watches and got watches. Watch the whole video.
Which true classic dress watch comes with a bracelet!! You really don’t understand watches IMHO 😅

Yeah it may well be

Yeah I agree, the enjoy wheel is a joke. But not a funny one.
