My enchanter can make those crest things, you need stuff from raids though as you say. One thing I noticed at the weekend was that I got a timewarped epic from timewalking Ulduar which was about 610 I think, but this was at the bottom end of its upgrade table, then you can get another one from that chest you get when you hand the timewalking raid quest in. So whenever there's a timewalking raid make sure you jump in group finder for legacy, though I suspect we will soon be getting a lot of that stuff anyway with the anniversary event next week.
Forgot to mention the free tier token you get from either clearing the raid on HC, 2k rating m+ or pvp (can't remember the rating you need to hit in pvp) :)

The "Free 619 Piece" is actually a free token to set the item level of a crafted gear to 619. You still need to pay around €10 in mats+fee to craft it so yeah, not free.
@The_Purple_Sun try crafting more than 2 pieces of gear on your alts and boom your at 200k and your broke. It's honestly just better to use the crests to upgrade gear and not waste a bunch of gold on gear that will be outdated in a month
At first: m+ , raid .... isnt "completly solo" secound: its not "EASY" to farm gilded crests for everyone and third: ye this is the normal way to gear up, no need for a video there..
In my experience, the reason that people aren't getting their ilvl up with champ gear and some hero items is because of the crests. These get season capped real fast and if you spent too many of these on items that aren't bis and your bis finally reaches you, you might be stuck at the ilvl you got since you cannot upgrade it. Valorstones for days, that is not the issue.

It'd never easy for casual solo players to anything in this game. I don't have infinite hours a day to grind out shit. Some of the crest are unattainable for most to upgrade gear. The Mythic+ group mentality i need 620+ for +0 is beyond ridiculous iMO.

Especialy for somenone which did not spend time in m+ keys and doesn't invest all of the free time in wow. Nerub hc pug runs from 5 to 7 is problematic even now, even more so for queen. Guilded crests farm?! cannot farm them at this point. M+ rating too low and wait times for +6 and above is bad.
not everyone likes mythic content, its either too sweaty, to toxic and also you mainly end up joining as the 5'th person in a frine or guild group and then ebing kicked out for not being a sweaty player. so the only viable option is delves and vault from delves and maybe some normal raids, seems the game is too centered on mythic every season, imho.

Once you upgrade a slot you don't have to use crests anymore to get to the same ilvl, just valorstones.

Getting into a mythic raid is impossible. I’m a 615 DH and don’t get accepted into heroic raid and have an 80 average parse score.
You forgot to mention when u hit 1600 rating in pvp u get a free peace of hero (619) tier gear and you pick pvp or pve gear
