However the only rivalry I would like to see again is by far AVGN vs Nostalgia Critic.

The Raiders of the Lost Ark poster we see at 0:28 when Doug is giving us several examples of posters all done by the same person (even saying "all done by the same person") was actually done by a different person: Richard Amsel. Source: his signature can be seen in the lower right corner of the image. Struzan did do a Raiders poster, he just didn't do THAT Raiders poster. That said, Struzan is a friggin' legend, and the movie posters of today just aren't the same.

It's interesting to think about all the people who we can't name, but whose work influences us all the time, or at least we get exposed to it a lot. Like the guy who narrates trailers. BTW, I think it's cool that a painter/illustrator is named "Drew."

Artists in general are usually underestimated unless you have a big name attached to you (i.e. DaVinci or Picasso etc etc). Sure now they're gaining a bit of recognition with Deviantart and stuff, but daymn.........there was a time when art was considered shit. At least where I come from

I miss blockbuster. The opening to this video, really made me miss that store. It perfectly describes what I saw every time I was there: DVD covers that made me think, "yeah that looks awesome. I'll give it a watch." Hell, the reason I never got to the Harry potter films sooner was because most of the DVD covers scared the shit outta me. It truly was a big part of all DVD and VHS rental stores. Thank God there's at least one open...somewhere In the world.

A long time ago in a galaxy right in his space, there was a market. In this market one would search far and wide hoping that the market would have the movie that these people would look for so that they wouldn't let there families lack a movie to view on movie night. If one did not find the movie they wanted people had to go home knowing that their families would be... bored! They would have to do ancient things to entertain themselves like play outside or worse; converse with family! It was horrible

It's like Netflix from the 80s and 90s
It was kind of like a library for video cassette rentals. What's a video cassette? Um, well in the years before DVD, video media was stored on a strip of plastic that was inside a case that slotted into a video cassette recorder, more commonly known as a VCR. The quality of the recordings ranged from "not that great" to "MY EYES!" and the VCR had a whole range of problems and would often attempt to eat the tape and ruin your movie.
What's a DVD? Um, the sucessor to laser disc and the precursor to Blu Ray, you would store movies on a disk, better quality then a cassette tape. And before you ask, blu ray is the precursor to Netflix and all the other online streaming services....what's a library?
Ugh, I give up explaining shit to kids today. You've got a phone, Google it.

On a side note...HOLY CRAP! The same guy who did the Star Wars Cover Arts did the cover art for the Sierra Spyro games!?!? No wonder Legend of Spyro feels like an epic movie trilogy!

I read that Force Awakens is his favorite Star Wars movie.
At least we got a Drew Struzan drawn force awakens poster. Also keep in mind that Drew Struzan is a lot older and sadly not in his prime anymore. He's pretty much retired, and mostly draws and paints for fun. It would be pretty demanding and unfair to ask him to make like five posters for your movie nowadays. The force awakens poster was simply a favor that JJ asked of him that everyone greatly appreciates.

Celpunch All the classics were his, but if you're talking about the modern equivalents that were mentioned and shown to be inspired by him, then yes.
What's truly odd. Is that even now, in 2017, there is a video rental store where I am! It's true! Not a grocery store with a redbox, not a convenience store with rentals, a store that only has rental videos! Wonder if it's located in a time warp, a dimensional hole, a retro 90s commune... Too bad I can't get parachute pants and Planter's Cheese Balls there... well, just the Planter's Cheese Balls, parachute pants were horrible.

If I could own one poster from any movie I wanna have Child’s Play 2 Army of Darkness Big Trouble In Little China The Golden Child Darkman Original King Kong And Godzilla Ghostbusters A Nightmare On Elm Street 3 Dream Warriors The Monster Squad 4 Indiana Jones The Original Star Wars Trilogy 3 Back To The Future 3 Beverly Hills Cop Cobra Rocky RAMBO And Jackie Chan Movie Poster. Does that thing still exist? I wanna know. I would gladly buy it from Amazon & Walmart so I can hang it from the wall in my living/family room and my bedroom.
