- After a pleasant stay in Skagway, Alaska, I take the ferry south to Juneau, where I rendezvous with my teenage son, Cole. Together, we explore the region by foot, by kayak, and by Jeep, and take to the air in a helicopter for an incredible surface tour of Mendenhall Glacier.

Chris you're an awesome dad. I showed this one to my daughter. She said, "Lets do this". My daughter is about Cole's age.
This has to be one of the coolest adventures yet! Venturing into a glacier! I remember going to Alaska (Anchorage) for work back in 2008 and on the weekends I drove aimlessly just at the chance to see a glacier. I had no luck! This was awesome to see!
I was talking to my girlfriend about how cool it must be for your son to have these videos. My father passed away 11 years ago when I was in my late teens. I would give anything just to look back at videos of him enjoying his life, in a way I think it makes you immortal. Anyways I can't stop watching your videos and I've actually got my gf hooked also. Thank you for sharing your life with us

@24:30 This is why I'm a patrion supporter of your channel. I wish my father showed me the things you share with your son. Just don't try to hard to be his best friend...that's not your role. Be his father. He needs that and will appreciate that more than ever later in his life. My best memories of my father was when he was trying to teach me something about being a man.

Many years ago I was doing as you are. To watch your episodes are a glimpse into the most beautiful aspects of my life. I never thought one could relive such things , but you have given me many smiles and wonderful memories. Keep it up, you living your best years!
I'm going back to your earlier videos and as a father of an 8 and 6 year old, me born in the early 70's I found this video charming. I'm pretty sure you Chris, and I are similar in age. When I heard you ask if Cole wanted to "peace out" I chuckled to myself and thought. How bad will it be when my kids are teenagers and I'm sharing what I think their generations expressions are absorbed by my generations perspective. Really awesome episode.
Your son usually works really hard to not show his emotions. He just couldn’t hide them on this video. Looks like an amazing time.

This is so true. The lack of a laugh track is what makes Chris' videos so engaging. Instead of being conditioned how to feel about a portion, we are allowed to just enjoy it.

I have an Orange Crush JK unlimited too (without the roof tent) and my son and I go overlanding in Australia every chance we get. We love watching your channel for inspiration and count the days until your next upload. This coming weekend we're fitting the side awning and we plan one day to get a rooftop tent. One thing though, you should further develop your bush cooking skills on the campfire. You're missing out on an amazing part of the overlanding experience. Fantastic work, again. I have those same trail hikers... love my Oboz. Mine have taken me across Africa, many trips to Haiti, and countless northern Michigan stomps and they STILL look and feel like new. Keep up the great documentaries, they're awesome.
Great idea to use the helo trip, I could tell Cole was blown away. Plus, when he's ready for Everest he'll know what to do.
