    I absolutely love this! And you have anew subscriber for sure!! I will say I'm a huge advocate for auto responses (when appropriate) since I'm a freelance copywriter and have a clinical consulting company I simply can't answer right away all the time so I use the auto messages to let the client know hey you'll get a response from m within this time frame but if I'm by the phone ill generally respond right then but if I'm not the message will cover me lol(i do however make it sound “homey” or semi-personable)
    Definitely make sure your response time is Awesome still though!

    1:17 Thank you so much for this! I’ve been watching videos on how to start on Fiverr and holy shit the amount of people that encourage others to borderline scam people it’s outstanding.
    Saying you can make professional original logos and then using apps like canvas to make the bare minimum it’s not okay. Telling your subscribers to use other people’s photos when you’re offering product photography it’s not okay.
    I’ve seen so many people trying and encouraging others to “finesse” the system by giving shitty results under the pretense of being professionals, it’s ridiculous.

    • @carrieblogger

    Thank you for Freelance Friday videos, Carrie :) Following your tips as fast as I can. I did film a gig video immediately after a haircut and blow dry, and it was 10 seconds too long! Ack! But it still shows up on the app - go figure. And still working on that portfolio... Are you accepting freelance friday requests? If so, do you have suggestions for the requirements? I seem to be always missing something :-/ Or I'm not being assertive enough... or something... Thanks, again!

    Hi Carrie! thanks for the tips, I´m about to start on Fiverr and this is very helpful :) I got a question. I wanna write articles and blogposts, but I wanted to ask you if you have some way of managing the autorship of your articles? for example, are you able to ask the buyer to share the link of the site once the article is posted? or to signe the article with your name? Thanks a lot!

    • @carrieblogger

      Proofreading is probably a bit harder to prove your skills with a portfolio, so get creative. Look at how competitors are pricing - it’s usually a lower price point than writing. I recommend writing a meaningful gig description that focuses on your love of the language as a way to empower the customer’s end result. Good luck!

    Hi Carrie! I'm Isabel. I have a question about something you said from minute 3:10 of the video:
    I want to make a video for my portfolio, but I thought it's better to make a little b-roll showing how I work (I do graphic design) while putting some text (explaining what the gig is about) and music in the background instead of putting a close-up of my face talking to the camera, since I'm not fluent in English. Do you think that's a good plan, or do you think the video is going to have better results if I talk in front of the camera despite my horrible accent and shaky voice (I'm terrified of cameras xD).
    Awesome video as always, one of the first things I'll do when I get my first money on fiverr is to buy some merchandise from you as compensation for the good free value you are offering.
    Take care! 😃

    • @carrieblogger
      @carrieblogger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awww thank you thank you thank you! I think it’s worth at least waving and saying hello before skipping to video with text/music. Talking into a camera is a really powerful skill, and it doesn’t hurt to practice speaking English phrases if you want to use them. Not to try and cover up your accent, just for clarity. So basically, I think any time and energy you put into this project is a good investment in yourself in the long run.

Ps: I’m a new seller so My portfolio is not available yet. Thank you 🙏🏻

    • @carrieblogger

      It used to be allowed, but within a grey area, as long as all info redirected to Fiverr for sales. But I literally just got a message today saying it may no longer be allowed, even with that caveat. • @carrieblogger
      @carrieblogger  2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Carrie , Awesome content. I have a query though...
    I am a portraitist and want to sell my arts on fiverr. But I don't have a solid networks of people on my social platform yet. I do find all your tips to be valuable but do you think that there is no point trying to sell on fiverr without having a decent connections on a major social platform in the first place? Because I feel even though I could make a promising fiverr account and follow these valuable tips alongside but to pass the first hurdle of just being acknowledged will still be almost impossible in such cases.

    • @carrieblogger
      @carrieblogger  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope, that’s really what you’re paying for with Fiverr’s 20% commission - exposure. If you have a huge network to drive all the clients yourself then you’d be better off funneling them toward your own website where you have total control and all the revenue.

      @@carrieblogger Thank you. I have to say thank you for sharing your story how you changed career to what you love. very inspirational. I actually love carpentry, I am not afraid to do hard physical labor. I love the finished product of my hard labor. Looking at a beautiful kitchen that I remodeled, that took me 3 months to finish, is very rewarding. When I know the customer loves it and will enjoy that every day for decades to came, that is fulfilling. My body likes to remind me often that it doesn't share my enthusiasm for carpentry as much as my brain does. ( not funny, but, yeah it is) is it ok for me to share my carpentry website here so you can see my work? I'm not spamming here, my carpentry business is strictly local here in Florida. my website is www.mobeydecks.webs.com i built the website myself, and if you look at it, I'm sure you will laugh at my grammar, i bet its about 3rd grade level at best lol. but, look at that custom kitchen my wife and i built together, that's pro level for sure. 28 years in carpentry. thank you again for all you do Carrie, your a great inspiration for this old dude.

      Just checked out your site - that kitchen is stunning! And you should give yourself more credit. Your writing style is quite nice and you have a very personable, clear voice - something that a lot of people struggle with. Honestly, if you cleaned up some spelling (only one P in 'operated'), were consistent with capitalization rules, and learned comma placement, your writing would be *excellent*! Well above third grade status! 🥇

      Is the thing which measures how long it takes you to respond very important? Being online all the time..woof.. a bit painful. Would it be viable to establish set hours of guaranteed answers from you (say 9am is your dedicated message response time)? Will most people be understanding knowing ahead of time or would that significantly hurt?

    • @carrieblogger
      @carrieblogger  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can definitely set your own personal policy and stick to set office hours, but the platform isn’t set up to facilitate that. It may negatively affect you with the algorithm, and it won’t help you position against other sellers who are more responsive. However, that response metric isn’t a requirement for levels or anything (as far as I know.)

      I don’t know what you mean about ‘increase response time to 90 over the period of 90 days.’ Lower is better (mine’s 2-3 hours, typically), and it’s based on how long it takes you to reply to a client’s first message.
