Good morning, or should I say mor' ing..like Madea!!😊.this is whatn8 miss doing when I thought 2yr Olds making play dough. my niece's son was 3yr old when I babysat him, now he's 26 years old. and his little brother is 10 , and I do monthly activities with him now. Christmas is next month and I will be doing wonderful things for him to make with clsy, I have a play dough book that has different 😊ways to make this. but I been doing it for so long. it comes naturally to me.. so Happy Hoildays and have a Blessed Thanksgiving .❤
I loved watching you create the fairy house. I am working with cement to make fairy houses that can stay outside year long but I have learned a great deal from watching you add the details to your creations. Thank you for posting your videos.
Hi, Paula, I just finished watching your video, and finally have some one show how it done, simple and cute.i just ordered 2 slabs I guess that what u call it. of Das clay at Amazon 2 weeks ago. I'm a retired toddler and two yr old daycare worker.and do monthly activities with my niece's 10 yr son. he's in 2 grade. and thire class made this little clay house last year. and it looks just like yours .I gave everything to make this , QUESTION is this air died clay because I want to bake it in the oven. at what temperature?.and glaze it with vanish. his class did the same thing..😊
Hi. In the video I'm using clay that I fire in a kiln rather than air-drying clay but the techniques should translate pretty well 🙂 If you're using Das air-drying clay you shouldn't need to bake it as it just dries at room temp and once it's hardened you can paint/varnish it. It should have instructions on the packet if it's a type of clay that needs to be baked like fimo.
I didn't put holes in the roof, just the windows but you absolutely could ☺️ My daughter glazed this one after it was fired. You could do it any colours you wanted 🙂
Great tutorial, I really liked the little details like making the door look like wood. I have a question about the clay; it looks like you used potter's clay which requires firing to complete the drying process, correct? If so, do you have any recommendations for a suitable clay that does not require firing for those of us who do not have access to a kiln?
Hmmm, I don't know of another material that would be suitable for use with a proper tea light with flame but for an led tea light you could use air drying clay like das then paint with acrylics... although it won't be as robust. Polymer clay might also work but you may have to adjust how you build as shapes will need to be baked before being added to.... I don't know polymer clay well at all but there are lots of tutorials on TH-cam for it too 😊 Another possible alternative if you don't have a kiln but want to try clay is kilnshare.com It may be able to help find a kiln you can hire. Hope that helps.
Love this instructional video. I love the bird’s singing in the background instead of music ❤
Thanks ❤️ I'm lucky! The birds are my studio soundtrack most days ☺️

Thanks 😊
I just made your mushroom house and it turned out so cute. Thank you for your wonderful, easy to follow instruction video.
You're very welcome ☺️
Love this little house
Currently trying to recreate this so wish me luck! 💜
Good luck 🍀😄
Thanks!
Welcome! 😊
Amazing🥰🥰
Thanks 😊
also is that water your using to hold your pisces down. ?
I use a mix of water and clay to attach pieces but water alone should work with Das air-drying clay 🙂

are there no holes... painted more beautifully?

Is the liquid stuff you use as glue just water or is it water together with clay?
It's clay mixed with water 🙂
@@PaulaArmstrongCeramics thanks for your answer 😁👍
Is this air dry clay?
No, I use a lightly grogged stoneware clay that's fired in the kiln once dry.

Love this video. This is pottery clay you’re using right? And what kind of fabric is that that you used to roll on?
Yes, it's a lightly grogged stoneware pottery clay that's great for hand building. I just use old pillow cases to roll out on ☺️
Great demo. Suggestion: either leave music on or off.
need to explain more.
