I have the isocab Randall made a little while back, I added some more deadening and a second mic gooseneck and cable and it does the trick. Mic’ing cranked amps at barely audible volumes is essential now.
@@SonicDriveStudio I probably already have too many iso cabs, but still hopefully one day they'll ship to U.S. Still, awesome video! Would love to see more from You and the Grossman!
This is gonna be cool to hear. I've been thinking about getting an iso-cab set-up as a recording format to begin building a loudspeaker collection off of.
I have one of the Grossman cabs also. It will not be totally silent, and while you can technically talk over the Volume of it (depending on how loud your amp is), you might find that you have to put it in a closet or further away from your monitors to keep the sound from interfering. Don't get me wrong, it's a great and very solid unit, but if you go into it thinking it's as quiet as using IRs then you will be disappointed.
The Redback has slowly become my go-to. It's a little dark and you have to adjust your amp accordingly. But the lows and mids are so linear and thick, when I go back to a V, Greenie, black back...they sound sorta scooped or phasey at various frequencies. The ownhammer Redback rockbox is really good as well. 👍
cool video, your Schecter Solo II Custom have the original pickups the Schecter USA Pasadena?im thinking to remplace those picks for the JB or Suhr Aldrich
Hey cool! I have an iso cab that I’m in the middle of rebuilding. It was originally a rack case (made of 3/4 inch plywood) that I repurposed as a sort of iso cab. I just put a 1x12 cab inside it with a mic. Now I’m upgrading it to just be an iso box with a built in speaker and mic mounts. I got my mic mounts in place now. The whole thing is built really. I just need one sheet of plywood now to put my 11 inch hole for my speaker in it. It has been super nice to have even the way it was before. I can’t wait to get it finished. All that being said, I cannot wait to see what comes from this iso cab! I’m very interested in that creamback. I’m curious about the redback as well.
@ I hope you do one of those “sound in the room” clips. I might have a nice little giggle at that when you do. ISO cabs need more attention in the world of recording. Super awesome tools to have.
Thats pretty nice! I like my V30 and Creamback H in a 2X12. Do they have one for 2X12 where you can do more than one, or do you just have to buy 2 1X12's?
great addition, real speaker are the shit, i would recommand to mic at a distance of minimum of 5cm from the speaker edge when using front loaded speaker ( that is the distance that you have in rear loaded cabs like mesa when you mic up on the grill), you might also be suprised by the eminence 1275 or the seventy 80 in the grosmann, cheers
@ very cool, having a professionally setup room for recording… in a nice 📦 . being able to audition speakers at home anytime is such an appealing concept. thanks
Hopefully you're on the ground floor, otherwise your amps will soon be in your neighbors living room. But then again if you get anymore amps they will probably be in there anyway! 🤣

You have a child? You are living a happy life! I hope your child grows up healthy😁
2 wonderful girls!
You're going to have allot of fun with those!
Thanks for the sneak peak at the end, without which I would have felt too much teased😂. Looks very promising and professional!

Wow this sounds glorious!!
So nice that you got a fridge in your studio now. A cold beverage inbetween is super refreshing
🤣
Awesome! Sounds great. Thanks for making this video. Real speakers while the kids sleep, ftw! Longing to find a Grossman in the U.S.
Afaik they don't ship to the US unfortunately. Don't know if there's a way around that....

Can't wait to try it! So far I've just been using the V30 and loving that but I'm really looking forward to the shootouts!

Super interested to hear these in action, check out Sean Mann’s tones - he uses one of these

Oh I like those mic mounts. In my cab I just put some goosenecks with clips. And I mean it’s nice. They work perfectly. But these look really nice.
It works really well and sounds killer! Video coming soon

is it actually quiet? If Opa is snoring in the other room it won’t wake him up?
Yeah
@ very cool, having a professionally setup room for recording… in a nice 📦 . being able to audition speakers at home anytime is such an appealing concept. thanks
So when it's all closed up, is it completely silent in the room? I would assume there's some level of volume. Just curious.
Not completely silent but it attenuates 30 db's! Review coming soon...
Was the sound sample at the end a combination of the three speakers, or just one. If the latter, which one did you choose?
V30 but I've gotten even better results for my review
I saw "Rossmann" written on the box and thought you had ordered some household chemicals to review 😂
Lol
Wow that is VERY INTERESTING!!!!!!!
The preview sounds good eh? I have it dialed in even better now ;)
@@SonicDriveStudio Really good!!! I hope you make some detailed videos.
Also as far as the loudness, is it really quiet?
@manos6426 pretty darn quiet but I'm not running my amps super loud
Damn...just ordered two Hesu Demons...hope the Cream- and Redback don't sound good 😅 (what would not happen)
Also have a Hesu speaker for comparisons
