I ended up buying one of these. The osc 1 pitch was a bit higher than the videos online. JMT told me that you can run this machine off of lower voltages (down to 5V). I grabbed a 6V power supply and now it gets a whole range of lower frequency sounds. Just wanted to mention this here in case anyone else finds the info useful.
That's good to know! Maybe as the battery runs down I'll get lower tones out of mine .. or I could rig up a voltage-starve resistor; that shouldn't be too hard.
Thanks for making this. I love those chunky sputtering noise sounds. So oddly satisfying. I got an LD-2 recently, and I absolutely love it. JMT is truly great.
Not everyone appreciates electronic noise but I find it strangely soothing. Somebody said that JMT's wiring was a thing of beauty to behold, so I opened up the back panel .. and there was a battery clip inside. Being able to run it without a wall-wart makes it even better.
@@JoshuaKennedy321 Strangely soothing, yeah, absolutely. You might like the noise artist MSBR, if you aren't already familiar. He was master of the synth noise craft for me.
I ACCEPT THE THREAT.....LOL.....I love that NF2...I want one now....Sorry for late comments...i only been on the Tube pretty much weekends....health is taking a toll on me on my back...lol...terrible disease...but i still get my motivation from watching you and your Vids....I think there's more feelings and emotions in Vids like yours and mine and yet we only get a few Views....i see it doesn't take 10000000 of views to feel good about what you do, but it's more an appreciative attitude and desire and love for what you do and all it takes is 1 or 2 people to appreciate that and i feel just a popular as 20,000 people watching.....isn't that something? .....anyways,,thanks for sharing this and i look forward to your next Vid..................................................................................................btw,,,3:28 OMG....Love a nice Boom...
Sick? Oh no!! Take care of yourself, buddy. My back has been hurting too, for about a week. I finally broke down & bought a new mattress (instead of a new synth gadget) and my lumbar area is starting to feel better. I assume people who don't get thousands of comments & views, yet they keep posting anyway, must be doing it because they want to. Attention is nice but there are other motivators. AND with a small channel you can actually interact with the content creator - as opposed to the ones with a million comments; they don't have time to read all of them. They sure can pump out some amazing racket. I've been tempted to get the big one (can't recall offhand the model name) but so far haven't been able to justify the purchase to myself. I need a perfect excuse to spend the money!

I have a SNB2b and a NF, and soon I'll get a TVCO as well: I love these machines!
