I watch your channel for many years now because you give a clear and honest explanation .and most of all your a positive proud man. Great to see you work with your dad. Great video as always
Amazing as always Alex! Constantly inspired by you and your families work ethic. Having an example box on top of the folded, is simple yet very effective, it will save time.
flux neutralises corrosion. brushing it will not clean under the bga and in this situation you would have fried the nands just by brushing, input and output are right next to each other on the vreg. Brushing is useless. cleaning also before repairing. search electrolysis on the internet, it happens on macbooks too, there's no protective coating at all.
Like Mike Shinoda is singing in his song from Fort Minor: This is ten percent luck Twenty percent skill Fifteen percent concentrated power of will Five percent pleasure Fifty percent pain And a hundred percent reason to remember the name Awesome work, like always!
No idea why you guys would reflow anything without cleaning out corrosion first. You're literally just mixing corrosion with solder and pushing it further underneath chips..
Oh wow I am only a couple minutes in but already, seeing the water damage, I wouldn't have thought you would have worked on this one.. so cool to watch
Best video ever!I think you will send Mac back to customer :) and you have dads eyes :) you make your biznis the bes, everyone know their job,and working fastest!Hi from Serbia!🎉
I’m curious why this wouldn’t be a perfect job for an ultrasonic cleaner? If there is a short due to water damage it could likely be the mineral deposits that are left behind which are bridging the pads. Reflowing basically burns away these minerals but they can also be removed with ultrasonic cleaning. Granted this is a large board but I would think they would make ultrasonic electronics that you could place into a large container you provide - similar to the sousvide machines that you dip into a container of water.
Do you ever put something like that in an ultrasonic cleaner? I know you never talk about one... Thx for sharing Also, do you have a "slow" time of year that would be better to send something in ? I'm guessing no but had to ask... Awesome work as always.... Thx from Wyoming
A lot of manufacturers now do coat their motherboards. My gaming laptop I sold not too long ago had coated motherboard too. Apple do not for obvious reasons xd
Very easy for Microsoft to shut down and sue for damages. They would do it in a heartbeat. They buy them under a business license and resell the extras they figure they will not need. It is good key. But Microsoft doesn't do the support for them. You just have to figure out with Google.

Yes... We did it. Is amazing how very patient you have to be to fix anything that so very small in micro size.

*Box/Prayer room* :)
Well done 👍🤙
Am curious why didn't you clean first then reflow?
Is the cleaning first doesn't make a different?
5:43 Alex tells us about the GoldieLocks Brush and the 3 tubes of Flux .......
Came in for repair.
Stayed for the life advice.
Ez bro ez
Noob question:
As soon as I saw the corrosion I wanted to brush those parts with an soft toothbrush and alcohol.
Why reflow right away?
flux neutralises corrosion. brushing it will not clean under the bga and in this situation you would have fried the nands just by brushing, input and output are right next to each other on the vreg.
Brushing is useless. cleaning also before repairing. search electrolysis on the internet, it happens on macbooks too, there's no protective coating at all.
Shouldn't you clean off the corrosion first with a tooth brush and ipa?

Oof! Right next to the NAND. That customer is VERY fortunate that it didn't fry the SSD.
It will fry the SSD soon or later, Macs are designed that way
Alex, you never sleep! I can't say much about that either.

would it have been easier and safer to fix the short and then put it in a sonic bath?
What sort of desktop is that man .... I literally wanted to cleanup or ' do not show desktop option ' on your PC . Thanks for videos - they're Great !
Great work Alex!👍🏽
Would have cleaning it before the reflow been more advisable? I am thinking they spilled juice and it has sugar on the board or something
I thought the same thing at first, but if you did, you might not remember all the exact locations of water damage.
Great family. Thx for sharing
Amazing, great work. And the shop tour was nice, i like that.
Alex. Man. You're too precise and professional. You make me feel like a stupid insect 😀Thanks man.

where can i get a board for M1 16 inch macbook pro 2021?
why apple can't cover board as IBM/Lenovo from water/corrosion?
How do you think they make their money ?
A lot of manufacturers now do coat their motherboards. My gaming laptop I sold not too long ago had coated motherboard too. Apple do not for obvious reasons xd
@@avocatdelamusique9778Basically apple being apple, they will defo charge you extra for the coating
and a seccade subhan allah my respect to you brother working and praying. you have my greatest respect.~
Another satisfied customer. Great job Alex "Mashallah"
you need a bigger left screen for all those icons xD
wouldn't it be easier to just use the box on top while fitting items then just building the next box in the line?
Do you warranty liquid damaged laptops like that?
No warranty on anything liquid damaged. Repairs like this are usually data recovery related.
That is one busy business !!!
Awesome!
Your father seems to love you very much asdf 13:12
Windows Licenses are not $15, I don't care what site it is. Those are pirated keys !
Very easy for Microsoft to shut down and sue for damages. They would do it in a heartbeat. They buy them under a business license and resell the extras they figure they will not need. It is good key. But Microsoft doesn't do the support for them. You just have to figure out with Google.
No they're not. Most are just resold from other countries. Basically Microsoft is charging you more because of where you live, and you'll pay it.
Might also be from companies scrapping old Win10 boxes, for example…
How many laptops are marked as not fixable? Those licenses can be reused, resold.
@MadukaJayalath read your EULA for oem licenses sir, then you might get educated
why dont u clean it off with alcohol
Better than Factory 😊
