I just bought my Nintendo OLED last week, I'm so happy with it and it's so amazing. In my pov, the new console aka Switch 2, is still in the developing phase, and they have not been officially announced by Nintendo and that happens probably sometime in the next year. Even if they announce it officially, the release of the product would take another few more weeks or months. On top of that, the prices would be expensive initially, so we have to wait again few months the prices to drop (drop to the actual price range) plus the releases for more games for the Switch 2 would take couple more months and for now I'm happy with my new Switch OLED and what it offers. 😃
I love my OLED!! I am a late adapter when it comes to getting new electronics. I’m gonna wait till the switch 2 has good games and all the kinks are ironed out. And hopefully by then it will be easier to get my hands on one. Great video!
I think the best strategy for those who have not bought a Switch yet (and if you haven't "What's wrong with you?" -Reggie) is that they just buy the Switch lite, start building their libraries with awesome games and hold out unitl the Switch 2 comes out. AT that point you still may want to hold on to the Switch lite; as it serves the purpose of being the most "pocket friendly" compared the the rumoured 8 inch Switch 2; which really is meant to replace the standard and Switch OLED model anways. This way; when you play all those games you bought on the Switch lite; they will REALLY look that much better on the Switch 2 and on the TV.
I'm just genuinely surprised there's still been no price drop. I imagine most people at this point who don't own one will be waiting for that instead of splurging on a holiday sale

I was looking to buy a handheld and the switch seems to have a very good options to choose from. There's no discount on games from Nintendo themselves but what about the indie games? Have they gone down in price? I had selected a few games if I decided to buy a switch and it seems that most of my chosen games are from small indie companies
Some things to consider. The lite when it gets drift (and it will) is a PAIN to repair vs a joycon if out of warranty. And to new buyers who may be uninformed the performance is identical among all models (with the exception of the lite since technically the switch runs faster docked and the lite cannot dock,in handheld however it's identical.). It's amazing how many newcomers i see that don't understand that. Personally I'd advise avoiding the lite unless you're technically inclined enough to perform the analog repair and swap them out for hall effect sticks.
My Switch Lite has had HEAVY usage since March 2020 and doesn’t drift at all. There’s no guarantee that they will end up with drifting issues. The Animal Crossing Switch doesn’t drift either, but I also use wired controllers for it when docked.
I allready have the oled model and the normal one. Im thinking about buying the Hyrule edition of the Switch lite. And over the years I collected about 400 physical games for this amazing console... even if there is a new Switch comming out, I will allways continue collecting for the old Switch. Nintendo switch to me is still one best of rhe consoles. It may not have the power, performance, and specs of ps5 abd xbox series x, but still a good console. Especially if your on a budget the nintendo switch moght be better option.
Yeah I was thinking of getting the original switch for my birthday before it’s to late as the switch 2 is meant to be €500 according to speculation I am currently using my brothers switch that has really bad controller drift.
I’m thinking of getting the TOTK OLED special edition, but it’s still around retail price from what I can tell. Should I just bite the bullet now or wait until around Black Friday and Cyber Monday to see if it goes on sale?

I have a yellow Lite and an Animal Crossing Switch. Had them since 2020. My recommendations as far as games go: Kirby and the Forgotten Land Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth Complete Edition Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Rescue Team DX Sonic Mania Plus
Also the Nintendo Switch doesn’t raise the energy bill much. It doesn’t pull power like the Xbox Series or the PS5 and their predecessors. It’s energy efficient and won’t raise the electric bill. It’s good for the environment.
Just buy a Steam Deck if you want portability. Prices at Steam is affordable, you have amazing games and your library carries over, not like consoles. And you can always have better graphics on a Desktop or laptop. Only downsize of Steamdeck is, it doesn't have Nintendo games. Apart from Xenoblade Chronicles, Switch doesn't have any games that is actually good. Zelda's, Pokemon games etc all bad in my opinion.

Switch Lite won’t necessarily drift. I’ve had mine for over four years now and it hasn’t drifted yet. My daughter, who is rough with it, hasn’t managed to cause drift (though I am worried it will drift eventually because of her).

Switch oled should have a price cut. It’s a 7 year old system and its value isn’t what it use to be
The OLED isn’t 7 years old; the original system is.
The OLED is only 4 years old and the Lite model and 2.0 model is 5 years old.
