Great video highlighting the danger that can be posed by bad weather. I've hiked and camped for 50+ years and have learned to carefully monitor the weather forecasts. A bad forecast doesn't stop me going out, just to be selective about where i go. Glad you both got through it and posted this video. 👍
Some good filming but good on you for calling it, as you did. Good 'warning' video to the less experienced (and experienced) - happily subscribed mate, all strength to you 👍
Thank you very much Dave, sometimes you've just got to admit this could have been planned and handled better. All is well that ends well though eh? Thanks for taking the time to watch and for your positive comment 🙏
Loving those waterfalls at the river. Looks like some bad weather around always stay safe keep that right kit on ya at all times pal 😊 great episode thanks for sharing
I know exactly how you feel! We had the exact same experience last Nov on Grisedale Pike. The forecast said lights winds and sun, we got gales and heavy rain! It nearly blew us off the top! I'm glad you got your wife down safely, it's bad enough when your experienced but if that kind of thing is knew to you it can't be much fun, so well done getting her down. Anyway, despite the disaster I enjoyed watching, so you have a new subscriber. Andy
Thank you very much Andy. Yes it's fair to say she was actually terrified mate. Frozen to the spot and legs like jelly from fright. It took some coercing to get her confident enough to move and get her (and myself) off the mountain. It's certainly a very unpredictable area climate wise. Thank you for watching and thank you even more for such a kind, positive comment 👍🙏
No probs, my wife comes hiking with me and although she is fairly confident, we have had a few moments where I've had to admit i've pushed her a bit to far out her comfort zone. @@TheGreatRaymondoOutdoors
@WhenTheMountainsCall yeah it's probably a bit of over confidence on our own behalf in our leading abilities. Then again they are both still safe aren't they so we can't be that bad mate 😉 👍
@RSOutdoorssevenfour very welcome genuinely enjoy your content it's right up my ally 👍 I'm off for a a test run with a hammock hot tent tomorrow morning I'm assuming today there?? lol. snow and -8c. do u have insta? I found you from. your post on fb if u have insta I could share your link around? the outdoor community is an amazing place love helping and meeting new content creators?? definitly feeding the #algorithm for you best I can right now
@RSOutdoorssevenfour 12 am here and heading out to the mountains in 8 hours 👍final rundown of the pack, load it up, set the coffee pot and alarm and it's go time lol nervous I usually set my gear up once before use. it with winter being here and it being dark by 4pm before I'm even of work I gotta take a gamble and do first set up without a test run should be interesting
Top marks for posting the video. 99% of TH-camrs would never post let alone turn it into a public safety video at the end. You’ll probably make everyone check twice. Is that weather app correct for the altitude? It’s always way worse on the summits 👍🏼🍷
Thanks mate I'm very grateful for you watching and taking the time to leave such a positive comment. I made a mistake checking the normal weather app like you said it didn't take into account the weather difference up top!! 😱😱😱 was only when I got back and checked the mountain Forecast (which I should have done in the first place!!!) That I saw how horrendous it really was. I had to post just in the hope that it might save someone else from making the same mistake in the future 🙏
@@TheGreatRaymondoOutdoors I did the same on Ben Narnain during a massive storm. Gusts of 100mph I’ve never felt power like that. Impossible to stand up. It started 5hours earlier than originally forecast. It was a white out blizzard so had to navigate blind of the map. Taking bearings every 50m or so until we got down below 800m then it was just wild af weather 😂. That was my wake up call to leave my ego in the car
3:08 dude hit me up your address. When you get a chance I’d love to have a postcard of some of these views, I’ll trade you some channel stickers. You can send me a postcard of something similar to the views you’re getting amazing.
Nice video on the dangers. Thanks for sharing.

Fair play Suggsy. Glad you both got back safe. Takes a good man to admit and educate. Love your videos.
