I've been listening to this band for 10 years now. But today, I have reason to believe that these lyrics were inspired by god/the universe based on a series of synchronicities I experienced. Those synchronicities lead me back here. I believe the words are god trying to reach out to us, cal to us. You don't have to believe me, but the right people will. Good luck on your journey.
Wow, a year of listening to these guys videos with viewing figures in the low hundreds and a mere mention by Thom Yorke rockets them into the thousands. Very pleased for Other lives.
Here are the official lyrics posted by the band on their facebook page: Oh I was in the dark age searching for the ones in my mind. But I had hit the ground runnin. Steady as you go. I don’t mind. I’m still here today. Spouting hymns and buzzing rhymes and forever talking when it aint so kind. But it feels like forever on the run. When your mind turns to fiction.
(Bottom half) Notching the ghost from whisper In a night without sleep I pray she'll comes First to the head and last to the feet Starting hymns, engrossing grands Fall at the token in your way its so kind And it feels like forever all along When your man turns to face you. Someone, Someone Someone, Someone
Please help fix this. I tried Oh I was in the dark days Searching for the wounds in my mind. I'm so far away And I had hit the ground and.. Steady as you go, my oh my Are you here today? Oh starting hymns, engrossing lands.. Fall at the token in your way so kind And it feels like forever all along When your man turns to face you. I was in the lonely And I was in the wound in my mind I'm so far away But it feels like forever all along. When your man turns to face you
I had took the long way. I was in the heat. I don’t mind I’m so far away. But it feels like forever on the run. Nudging the ghost from the skull. A night without sleep. Vibration comes first to the head and last to the feet. Spouting hymns and buzzing rhymes and forever talking when it aint so kind. But it feels like forever on the run. When your mind turns to fiction.
@aweb94 The song is in F# minor that's a given. What I meant is that when the strings slur down, it seems like it will approach the major. The slurring in this song is from B to A, what I mean is that it sounds like it could go major (B to A#). If you hum the sequence or even play it, the "resolution" for the slur is the F# major but it goes to the minor.
@yellowonetwo I think Thom is doing it more to honor the deceased and help their families; he specifically mentioned casualties of war not so much the soldiers who returned, even though the funds raised by the single helps those who have returned too

@yellowonetwo It's important to understand that the soldiers are doing what the leaders of the country suggest they do. They're serving their country out of trust, and it should not specifically be them who receive the blame, it should be the source of the terrible commands. There are always exceptions, though, and it's a shame when some soldiers don't fully understand what they're doing. Just be smart and understand the cause and direct the blame in a useful direction. Thanks.
@TheDouchesupreme Part of the way their patriotism programming works is that when someone breaks off from it, and speaks against the State, and against violence, and in favor of little children not being burned alive, and in favor of freedom, other people will get angry when they hear those words. They don't know why... but their first instinct is to ridicule those people and defend the State in the process. It's a strange reaction. But a common one. Your comment is a good example of that.
Was this piece of music used on the Netflix DARK series? Or maybe some other? This last song caught my ear when it was on the radio at night. Now it does not let me live and I have to find where I know this song from.
@yellowonetwo you must remember the origin of rememberance day, those who fought in WW1 and WW2 and lost their lives for the cause. If you cannot respect people who gave everything for us to be sat here with the freedoms we have, then i have to question whether you really just want us to be controlled by some hell-bent dictators (although, i would argue that we (UK) are currently ruled by a very subtle dictator)
@Horus515 it's unfair to judge the individual soldiers, however, because often times they will go into the army because they cannot afford college or because they don't have a good alternate source of income. yes, they made the choice, but they were not necessarily expecting (pre-9/11) to have to go and serve in places like iraq. by supporting the soldiers, you are also supporting a course of action that will bring them home, and to your point, end the war.
@yellowonetwo apperently mr/mrs lawyer, i do have less time, as a student pharmacy then you have. Ok, please stay wherever you are, the more you talk the more sick you make me...
this song is so beautiful, it makes me want to pack my backpack and go travel with no intention of coming back
It has been haunting me. It's been stuck in my head all week. Every time I lay down for rest, this song starts repeating itself in my mind.

I love how it just begs for an F# (major) chord but never touches it.
